Today we dined at Coco Wood Grill and were pleasantly surprised from start to finish. If you're looking for a great value, don't miss their Sunset Menu, available from 4:00-5:30. The atmosphere was relaxed, the service was attentive, and the food definitely kept us coming back for another bite. Here are our favorites: Hangry Jen Pasta - The name says it all! This dish is huge and easily shareable. Rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. Seafood Enchiladas - Loaded with seafood, incredibly flavorful, and topped with plenty of melted cheese. Cheese lovers will be in heaven. Petite Filet Medallions with Potatoes - The steak was perfectly tender and seasoned beautifully. The potatoes were the perfect complement and soaked up all the delicious flavors. Lobster Bisque - The standout of the meal! Every person at the table took a bite and immediately agreed this was a winner. Rich, creamy, and layered with spices that linger just enough to keep you thinking about your next spoonful. Onion Rings - Crispy, classic, and exactly what you'd expect from a good order of onion rings. Calamari - Lightly battered and cooked well. It wasn't my personal favorite, but everyone else at the table really enjoyed it. If you're in the area, Coco Wood Grill is definitely worth a visit. This review and rating has nothing to do with the food or service which I believe to be top notch. This review and rating has to do with poor and abhorrent communication. I called on a Monday evening for reservations for 8 people for the following Saturday evening at 6pm and requested the room near the bar. I was told no problem - they could put two tables together for us. She took my name and phone number and all was good. Saturday afternoon at 4pm I received a text from Coco's stating they could not seat 8 people in the bar area - 6 people is the most they can take. I explained what happened when I tried to use their online reservation app and it kept messing up that I called and spoke to someone there who I assumed was the hostess. She asked me for the persons name and I did not remember it (5 days earlier) The hostess on the phone didn't care and again stated that the largest party allowed in that room was 6 people. I asked why she waited until 2 HOURS before the reservation to call me and she said she and the other hostess came in that night at 4 pm and saw the reservations then. I asked her if she could seat us in the main dining room and she said no they could not. This is inexcusable and bad policy to not review reservations in advance in order to notify patrons of an issue. So Saturday night before Fathers Day, 8 people -4 dads-were left to hang out to dry. read more

Parking is a nightmare unless you are smart enough to call and ask where to go?! Service was excellent. waitress told us she had 26 yrs experience. She was spot on! Best pork chop we have had since my farm days! We stopped in to check out the menu and the ambiance yesterday and found a prize which bears repetition. Service was outstanding and the owner is right there. A nice, small bar with friendly and very knowledgeable bartenders and very fair and reasonable prices. Definitely worth a stop! read more

This was our fifth time at Coco Wood and each time we love it more and more. This is our favorite dinner spot to come when we're in town. It's such a cute little house that was turned into a restaurant and has the best ambience. I love their espresso martinis. They always start you off with their homemade bread which is so delicious and then we had their fry and ice shrimp which was the first time we had tried and we absolutely loved this dish. Then we had the burrata salad which is now one of our favorites. The seafood enchiladas were so unique and delicious and you couldn't go wrong with Jen's pasta, which was yummy. We were in town for a wedding, and this spot came recommended by the bride, so we checked it out on our first night! Easy to make a reservation online and there is parking in a specific lot a block away! Read the website directions to locate the parking lot! The host and our server were tremendously positive and excited to welcome us to the restaurant! We sat on the patio, in a shaded spot, which doesn't have a view of the beach but feels private, beachy, and quaint! Complimentary focaccia with olive oil/balsamic for dipping arrived shortly after we sat down, which was a lovely and tasty surprise. I had the Grouper Tacos, which included a large serving of fish, slaw, lime wedge and a side of fries. I got my fish deep-fried so they were understandably on the heavy side, so shoot for grilled for a lighter alternative! Overall, a lovely spot for a bite after a long day on the beach! Our friends live just down the street and brought us here for dinner - so glad they did. The place has a relaxed coastal vibe that still feels a little upscale. Super comfortable and inviting. Our server was awesome - funny, friendly and totally on top of things. He joked around with us all night and made the whole experience even better. They started us off with warm, house-made focaccia and olive oil with balsamic. Simple, but honestly so good. The drink menu caught my eye right away - lots of craft cocktails. I went with the house sangria, which was refreshing and perfectly balanced. One of our friends ordered the smoked old-fashioned, and the presentation was wild - totally worth ordering just for the experience. For dinner, I had the grouper special with coconut rice. The fish was tender, flaky and cooked perfectly. The rice was hot and fluffy, but I was hoping for a little more coconut flavor. Our friends went with the macadamia-encrusted swordfish and instantly had food envy - they said they wished they'd ordered what I got! My husband got the filet medallions, but they were gristly and had to be sent back. The staff handled it really well and brought our a replacement without any fuss, but it came out after we were done eating, so it ended up being our turn to watch him eat. Phenomenal from start to finish! We both were so impressed & will definitely add this to our vacation meal list! My husband has a gluten allergy, & Coco Wood Grill has plenty of options to accommodate. Even GF crab cakes, which were so yummy! He also had a grilled grouper sandwich on a GF bun. I went with the Weekly Reel, which was a macadamia nut & coconut crusted Snapper. It was served with coconut basmati rice, grilled veggies & a peach mango salsa. Soooo good, so fresh. My toddler devoured their homemade focaccia bread & French fries. Our service was so lovely, & our server was so kind to explain the GF accommodations for different items. Overall Rating - 4.34 Service 5/5 Host - Rhonda Service was wonderful. Rhonda paid us great attention and went back and forth for the children's items needed (broken straws, ranch, ketchup). She was friendly and attentive when discussing my allergies (allergic to seafood) she entered it into her pad to make sure it was handlers correctly. Having it delivered by itself then with the other seafood. She got refills in a timely manner . Food - 5 / 5 Food was done very well it had great flavor. My partner had fish and chips 5/5. I had the Chicken Bacon Ranch Sandwich. Which is more of a burger. The fries usually come with that but because they fry everything together I got Spanish rice instead. Allergy - 4.75/5 I called ahead and they said they could accommodate seafood allergies. They handled my allergies with great consideration. They fry everything in the same fryer and use flattops. However they do have pans that go on the flattops to cook individual food. That's how they made my sandwich without cross contamination. I do wish they have an allergy menu which I see in restaurants a lot more of these days. Most of the other restaurants fry seafood in separate fryers to accommodate food allergies more. I would suggest this restaurant doing that so I would have more options. (Wasn't able to order fries, etc) Environment / Ambiance - 4/5 Very cramped. We had a party of 8 ( 2 young children). The noise level seems to be pretty loud so it's hard to make some conversation. Restrooms - 5/5 Clean, they used a candle to keep the area from smelling bad. Accessibility - 3/5 (Written by an able bodied person) The bathrooms have an accessible stall. However the restaurant is really busy and it would be hard for them to accommodate individuals with wheelchairs during peek hours due to how cramped the building is and how close the tables are to one another. We did not see any accessible parking near the entrance we had to park two blocks from the restaurant. Sensory 4/5 Touch - table, floors, and chairs were clean. No stickiness or debris. Smell - there is a muggy or moldy smell. Also the smell from the candle may be overwhelming for some sensory sensitive individuals. Sound / Noise Level - 71 db Average. Difficult to make conversation. There was not music. Sight - the lights are really low so at night it's kinda hard to see in the place. LGBTQ+ Rating 4/5 No support signage. I just hoped the food was more kept to its own cuisine , not a melting pot of two different cultures. I get the idea but the flavors are too sweet for me. The margaritas I loved , a must have !!!! For spring break we went to Florida and when we went inside it was very beautiful and our server Miranda was very pleasant and helpful with our dinner. Also the food was very delish our family had enjoyed the food and we had full tummies. Inside the restaurant it was very cool and I liked how inside there were dim light with candles. This neighborhood restaurant was a block from our VRBO and we needed up eating dinner here twice and stopped in for dessert once during our weeklong vacation. The bartenders were super nice and the manager also gave us suggestions in the area to visit for music and food too. The outdoor patio area was fantastic and accommodated our entire group (2 adults and 7 kids) one night and the bar area was fun for dessert (just my wife and i for a drink). The teenage boys ordered the burgers 1 night (said they were the best they have had in a long time) and the fish and chips another night (big portions). Also the had a banana rum old fashioned that was very tasty as well. Seems like a great place for a date night or large group. We had a smoked cherry bomb cocktail that was smoked table side and a glass of sangria. Both were so good. We order the Hangry Jan seafood dish and the special of the evening which was a seared pork chop with peach salsa and both were fantastic! I have to just say... WOW! This place made me feel like I was part of the family! OK, so I'm in town for work and we were trying to find a place to eat that was close to our accommodations for a work dinner. However, I'm Vegan. Now, I'm really surprised that there are wonderful vegan options in the area, but not everyone in the group wanted to eat only plants. I had seen on Google that Coco wood grill had offered Vegan options in the past, but when I checked the menu, there were none. The woman who answered the phone to take our reservation happened to be the owner and said she would see if her husband (who was the chef) could accommodate us. When we called back to push back the reservation, she had informed us that he could. However, they honestly went above and beyond. From the warm greeting when we walked in the door to the excitement that our server ,Annette ,had to tell me about the dish that said chef created for me. I'm definitely not going to forget to mention how amazing our server Annette was as well. She was attentive, efficient, respectful, and extremely knowledgeable about the menu items. She joked with us, but gave us space when we needed to conduct business. Anyway, the Vegan dish was phenomenal with fresh ingredients and the chef even came out to check on us. If you are Vegan, please go and check them out because you will be pleasantly surprised! Everyone in my party was very happy with their meal as well... Everything looked phenomenal! Came tonight on a total whim. First I would like to compliment the staff they were personable and made the visit a treat. The place is clean and nice although the back portion where we sat was really dark. Some great options for dinner but we were just looking for quicker things so I got empanadas appetizer and my friend ordered chicken ranch bacon sandwich. The sandwich was huge she said great flavor and fries were cridpy and great flavor. The empanadas are in connection with local company. Flavors change each day.
