The full size sandwich is quite large. The half isnt enough for me but 1 and a half hits the spot. This location has a good amount of space to sit and parking. The people here are nice. Slightly slow service. But sandwich is good.

The bread is amazing and the sandwiches are 10/10. We got the Cubano and the BLT. I got a side of the hot peppers to add, which which was amazing. The team was amazing and had great recommendations.

    Pastrami & Swiss Cheese

I came to this location to get a classic pastrami and swiss sandwich prior to a Broadway show. The pastrami on rye sandwich, a culinary icon of American gastronomy, holds a significant place in the nation's food heritage. Its story is deeply intertwined with the influx of Jewish immigrants to New York City in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, who brought with them the tradition of cured and spiced meats. Pastrami, is typically made from beef brisket that is brined, seasoned with a blend of spices such as coriander, black pepper, garlic, mustard seed, and paprika, smoked, and then steamed. This meticulous process imparts a distinctive smoky, savory, and slightly peppery flavor, as well as a tender texture that melts in the mouth. No pastrami on rye would be complete without a generous layer of Swiss cheese. The mild, nutty flavor and creamy texture of the Swiss complement the pastrami without overpowering it. The combination of the three key ingredients is often enhanced with a smear of tangy deli mustard, adding a final layer of flavor complexity. The pastrami sandwich served here is more than just a sandwich; it's an experience!! The sandwiches here are made to order and as such are fresh. The sandwich I had was divine as it permitted all the flavors in the sandwich to shine.

Plenty of parking ~5pm. Quick service, reasonable price, maybe slightly on the expensive side, but you can't get prime rib at Subway. Sandwich is amazing, especially with hot peppers added!

Peeps. Delicious sandwiches here! Enough meat and fresh toppings. I wish it had a better view but you can't have everything. Check them out and tell them PK sent you. #drkindness #IFixMe #SelfCare

Was excited to return to Snarf's at a different location. Sad they ran out of sprouts but still had the same friendly and efficient team. Love the bread and the prompt service. Got the Californian w/o sprouts and still just as tasty.

This is a good spot to cure any sandwich cravings you might have. I love that Italian sub so much. The toasting method is the icing on the cake. It's the UT location so it's kinda busy with students but service doesn't suffer. Best part? They allow dogs and even provide treats for them.

I was recently at the LBJ library for an event and came upon Snarf's walking around for lunch. I remember hearing good reviews about the sandwich shop and it did not disappoint. I ordered the special, The Cuban, and my friend got a Cobb salad. For dessert, we both ordered a brownie! I enjoyed my sandwich, filled with protein, perfectly toasted, and I added some hot peppers. The service was friendly; however I was shocked to hear that I would be spending $17 on a sandwich and a brownie. Turns out, it's because I was given a 12 in versus a 7 in. I wish I caught that mistake earlier, but I ate the entire 12 in, so I guess I needed it. The ambiance is like a little dive joint and they have free stickers and tattoos that you can take. I got a couple for my kids and they were so excited that I went home with "presents" for them. I think that if I'm in the area, I would give Snarf's another try. They have many different sandwiches that I'd like to try. Next time, I think I will go for the 7 inch though.

The sandwiches are soo good and warm which is nice now that the weather is cooler. The staff here is also so nice and takes their time crafting the food. Also the halloween decor right now is so cute and fun!

Get the app and get a free sandwich each birthday... or salad if you've had too many birthday treats! I've been to Snarf's five or six times, but this is the first time even considering their salads. Their salads are huge and satisfying! I definitely recommend them if you're trying to eat less bread! Snarf's has earned its place back in my list of restaurants to consider if I need a quick meal when I'm out and about. The atmosphere unintentionally feels like a step back into the 90s when sub shops were at their peak, with a sliver of wholesome slacker culture I hear exemplifying Austin a few decades ago.

I recently came here after volunteering and was delighted to discover they have gluten free bread! Even though Snarf's has been around for years and I was a student at UT (and it's been a few years!), I've never been here before so I really wasn't sure what to expect. It was very clean inside and the employees were friendly, even going so far as to let me know that the gluten free bread is really good since I'd never tried it before. The recommendation is that even people who don't HAVE to eat gluten free will order the bread because it's soo good. (Lucky people, I'd say! I'd love to only eat gluten free out of preference instead of necessity!!) Anyway, I ended up ordering their Italian sandwich with a few customizations (getting older means no raw onions these days!), and the gluten free bread WAS really good, but I can't justify spending ~$20 on half a sandwich on a regular basis. So while the location is very convenient next to campus and my regular volunteering, the gluten free prices are just a bit steep for this to be more than an occasional treat. Parking lot is a bit small, but free for customers, and there was plenty of seating inside as well. They do also appear to have monthly deals on set items, so next time I may also try a salad to see how that is!

Last week I was on a break from keto, and my husband read my mind. He took me here as the first stop on a rainy Friday night date. I know they have good sandwiches, but they also have their "bait shop" schtick. They're not near any significant fishing spots, and I didn't see any evidence of bait, but whatever. Their sandwiches are good, so they can get away with it. While I ate my sandwich on the patio, we discussed the novelty nature of many Austin businesses, and which ones can hold up and which ones are pure hype. I ordered the Club sandwich. It's not a true triple-decker club, but it was the sandwich that had the best variety of fillings in my opinion. Everything you'd expect in a classic club, but easier to eat because it wasn't stacked absurdly tall like other clubs. The sourdough bread was very crispy, and the meats, cheese, and vegetables worked well inside. On the side I got potato salad which I like more than their other option, which was chips, but the potato salad wasn't anything special. Their patio was the perfect spot to enjoy a rainstorm. They have some glider chairs off to the side that are good for lounging on, but when it really started to rain we moved in to the center of the patio. I'm glad I got a chance to try Handsome Dan's. I doubt I'll be back anytime soon because huge sandwiches like this need to be an occasional treat for me, but if you're in the Springdale area looking for a satisfying meal, this is it!
