The Vegetarian Sandwich (avocado, sprouts, provolone) is one of my favorites. I personally like it with all of the available toppings: mayo, mustard, hot peppers, onion, lettuce, tomato, pickle, seasoning, and oil. The bread and vegetables are fresh. The option of gluten-free bread is appreciated, but it is disappointing that it costs an extra $2.95, so I usually get the wheat bread instead. read more

The menu is really interesting. I liked the bread - not too hard. Macaroni salad was tasty. Potato salad was tasty. The gooey butter cakes weren't like what we call gooey butter cakes where I'm from. It was much chewier with a harder base, but it was yummy. The Reuben was good. We got it to go and the dressing came on the side. I thought this was weird at first, but it allowed me to customize how much I wanted, which wasn't a lot. My only complaint is the Sammy needed more kraut. Husband got pastrami and cheese. Snarf's Sandwiches--MX was a beautiful oasis during a stormy marching band competition. I needed a vegetarian sandwich for a high schooler who didn't get one and some cheese and bread for another who was probably on her last nerve. The staff did not comment on my dripping water everywhere after being outside in a storm and let me take my time sorting everything out in the warmth and dry atmosphere. They also helped me acquire the off-menu cheese and bread with no fuss. I didn't actually eat the sandwiches, but they smelled delicious and I will stop in there the next time I am in the area. First time in STL and needed a quick, small bite. Found this while walking around and gave it a shot not expecting much. From entry, staff were very friendly and not shy on making recommendations. I've been to this snarfs 3 times now and I really enjoy it! I visit STL for work and Snarfs is both close to the office and open later than the other grab and go places on the block. It's fast, convenient, and easy to order online, and the sandwiches are pretty tasty. Two times I've had the French dip sandwich, and it is delicious. The meat is really tender and the au jus is flavorful. I will say this sandwich tasted better when I ordered it at lunch vs dinner- when I ordered for dinner it was close to closing time and the au jus wasn't as flavorful and tasted a bit burnt, but that's probably just because of the time of day. I also had the buffalo chicken sandwich off the online menu, and this was good but I wish it had more buffalo flavor. I could barely tell it was supposed to be buffalo vs a plain chicken sandwich. But it was still good. The nice thing is that even the regular 7" sandwiches are pretty hearty, so I got a dinner and lunch out of them a couple times. Snarf's is amazing. That's all there is to it! They rate up there with Jersey Mike's as my favorite sandwich shops of all time. The meat is delicious. Lots of fresh toppings. And the bread! The bread is scrumptious. I've tried a number of sandwiches here. Never had a bad one. Last visit, my dad got a salad. It looked really good! Might have to try that next. Review Visit: November 7th, 2018 Snarf's will make you want to scarf. Another St. Louis post, another place that has been on my list for awhile now. During previous visits, I had driven past a few different Snarf's and was intrigued by the name and logo. During my most recent trip, I was determined to try one of their few locations. After grabbing some coffee at The Mud House and a quick pretzel at Gus', I was ready for a real meal. With my mind already made up, I zoomed over to the nearest Snarf's for a sandwich. I had a feeling Snarf's was a unique location but upon entering. What I was not expecting was the color contrast and being assaulted (in a good way) by the smell of toasting subs. The color scheme gave me some serious Mardi Gras vibes while the smell of the toasting subs made me all the hungrier. Speaking of the smell, I swear you could almost make out a small haze of smoke from all the toasting they were doing. The place was busy since it was lunchtime. After pouring over the menu for a few minutes, I settled on a 7″ BLT with some chips and a water. My total was around $9, which seems reasonably priced. While you wait for your food, you can grab your chips and take a seat to bask in the smell of toasting subs and Mardi Gras colors. Once they call your name, you go up to the counter and get the goods. They had some thick cookies at the counter that were calling my name. I had to take a photo with my wallet for a size comparison. They looked delicious and sadly, that will remain a mystery for the time being as I didn't grab one. A recurring trend in these posts is that I encounter these amazing looking cookies/baked goods, but I never get one. Maybe I will start trying them in 2019! I had no expectations for what Snarf's would taste like, as I was here based on name alone. What was delivered was easily a Top 3 sub for me. I generally favor pubs, pizzerias and chinese places for food, but this place may have made me a huge lover of subs. The bread was perfectly tasting. The bacon had a nice crisp to it without being too crumbly or overcooked. The sub was the perfect size to fill me up so I sadly had to save the chips for another time. (I ate the chips on my way home from the concert and wow, they were hot, yet delicious.) I did notice after I scarfed down my sandwich that they had condiments available. The sriracha looked betrayed that I didn't use it. Maybe next time, hot sauce. If you are still with me, you'll notice that I mentioned the smell of permeating throughout the restaurant. While this is great if you are coming in and getting your food to go, I did notice that once I left and sat down in my car that my coat was now an advertisement for the smell of Snarf's. While it wasn't an overpowering smell, it was mildly distracting to constantly smell Snarf's while driving and weaving in and out of traffic in St. Louis. If they would have had better ventilation to siphon out the smell and smoke, I would've given them a 5/5. A 4.75/5 is still a heck of a rating for a place that I had no expectations for. While looking at their website, I noticed they have a few other locations in the city and also Chicago and Colorado. If you can't make it to St. Louis, you are still in luck to try Snarf's in some other city or state. read more

We ate here a couple of times during our 5 day stay. The sandwiches were good and the service was good. It's a cool spot to stop in and have a quick sandwich, they also have ice cream! I had my first Snarfs in Denver. I ate it at Red Rocks right before the Wu Tang concert. It was magical. So, when I discovered that St. Louis had one and I knew that I'd be in town, I made it a priority to stop at. Yeah The one in Denver had several specialty type sandwiches. The neon sign of this gem of a sandwich shop was visible from my hotel window at the Embassy Suites. I was curious about the name. At first, its blue letters seemed to read "Smurf." I walked to buy a few times on my way to a conference hotel and from outside, nothing caught my eye. Then I picked up a copy of the Riverfront Times. An advertisement showed photos of these amazing subs and whimsical, don't take yourself too seriously graphics. I was sold. The next night I ordered a 7-in Italian from an order now link on their website. There was no extra fee for me to pick it up. It was ready when I arrived, expertly wrapped and warm from the toasty bread. It was everything I hoped it would be. The bread was just as good as everyone has said here, the ratio of cheese, meat, veggies, and condiments were perfect, the meats high quality and flavorful. I stopped in to Snarf's Sandwiches while staying nearby for business. I looked through the Yelp reviews and decided to give them a try. The interior is spacious and clean. Several menu boards are overhead as well as individual menus. You order and pay then wait a short (5 minutes or so in my case) for your order to come out. You'll find an assortment of sauces at the end of the counter. You have the option to dine in or outside. I took mine to go. I ordered the Vegetarian pro size (true foot long) and added hot peppers, lettuce, tomato and pickles on wheat bread. The bread was quite good and the ingredients were fresh. I should have put some hot sauce to make it spicier to my liking. I will next time. I'll be back if I'm in the area and looking for a good sandwich. read more

I order from Snarf's via Door Dash about once/month. I've never been disappointed. The sandwiches are always fabulous and well constructed (not sloppy or too much/too little ingredients). I love that they precut them in half and double wrap them. Everything is always packed with care inside the bag. I've never been shorted napkins, utensils, etc. I've never had an order arrive that was incorrect. And did I mention? They're so damn fast! ZERO stars is what I give them! I ordered lunch from Snarf's online today at 10:20 for 11:30 pick up. I went to the pick up area after 11:40 to look for my food and didn't see it so I asked the young man if he has my order coming up? He was looking for it when a worker told him "tell her it's coming!" "Tell her it's coming!" I'm literally standing right there and he didn't have the common courtesy ( or common sense) to address me directly! When he walked away I asked who's the manager and and the young man pointed to the guy that said 'tell her it's coming". So I asked who's over him. The "manager" over hears it and tells me it's the owner and he doesn't speak to customers. So I told him he was extremely unprofessional and I didn't appreciate his tone.
