Manager went out of his way to say derogatory abelist things. He clearly needs to be educated on ADA rights & customer service.

bouncer and bar manager violated my ADA rights by denying my service dog access to the bar and restricting access to patio dinning area. The ADA specifically states in a restaurant, a service animal must be allowed to accompany the person with a disability in all areas that are open to other patrons. The manager not only stood solid in his convictions despite me attempting to educate him so as to avoid liability, legal action, or complaint under depart of justice. he went further by calling me a Karen, and making a slew of derogatory statement. the bounce and manager refused to give their names but I recorded it & will be following up with owner, and DOJ. Dog was identified clearly with service dog markings and when I advised the tasks he performs, the manager proceeded to say I have no business being out with my medical conditions. manager is discriminatory abelist

This is a great spot to watch games on jumbo screens while dining. Some of the best bar food in downtown Minneapolis. Our waitress was friendly and made sure that we had everything we needed. The menu has a really diverse selection of food items. The waffles fries and seasoned sour cream are amazing. The owners are very nice and always make you feel welcome.

    Balvinie 12 neat please....

They need to upgrade to frosted glass mugs from plastic cups. Food is decent. Nothing special. Nice location.

If I'm going to catch a Vikings game here, how early should I arrive to get a spot?

The place really fills up three or four hours before a home game and then those with tickets take off about an hour or 45 minutes before the game starts

The ribeye was good: properly cooked and flavorful. Wine list was decent enough for the setting, with some solid options that paired fine. Service moved a little fast and our server wasn't especially chatty, so it felt more efficient than warm. Still, the food and unique location make it worth a stop if you're already downtown.

On my first visit, I ordered the Salmon Alfredo, and on my second visit I tried the Tempura Shrimp & Salmon Pasta. Both dishes were delicious, flavorful, and had generous portions. Each dish was fantastic and definitely left me with plenty to enjoy. But the real star of the show was the **Chocolate Torte**! The gluten-free chocolate torte is white chocolate coated and comes with a rich chocolate torte, almond crust, fresh strawberry, and chili salt. The combination was incredible. The richness of the chocolate with the fresh strawberry and chili salt was such a fun flavor combination. This dessert alone is worth saving room for. And of course, I ordered the **Rhubarb Margarita** both times because apparently I found my drink and decided there was no reason to switch it up. It was amazing! The staff was fantastic on both visits and made me feel welcome each time. I also really love the design of the restaurant. The space is HUGE, unique, and filled with interesting details. You could probably visit several times and still notice something new. I also love the happy hour, and the downtown location is incredibly convenient. Both times I was staying at a hotel downtown and was able to walk to the restaurant. After two great experiences, The News Room is officially on my Minneapolis must-visit list. Every time I'm in town, I'll be back. Great food, huge portions, amazing staff, fun ambiance, convenient location, and a chocolate torte I'm still thinking about!

The restaurant was understaffed - the bartender was not only running the bar but also serving the entire dining area. We sat at the bar and waited about 10 minutes before being greeted. We also overheard a nearby table voice frustration about the slow service. We're pretty patient, so it wasn't the end of the world, but it was noticeably slow. That said, once we were helped, our server was friendly and attentive. I ordered a Spicy Margarita and my husband went with an Old Fashioned. My margarita was on the weaker side; not bad, just forgettable. My husband enjoyed his Old Fashioned. For food, we tried the Bang Bang Shrimp, Thai Chicken Lettuce Wraps, and the Crab-Stuffed Portabella. The standout was definitely the Bang Bang Shrimp; we both really liked it. The lettuce wraps and stuffed mushroom were fine, just not dishes we'd return specifically for. The overall vibe was calm and low-key, and the staff was kind despite being stretched thin. I'm glad we gave it a try, but it's probably not a place we'll be rushing back to.
