It's so nice to see such a place like this go into town. As soon as you enter, you are immediately hit with the light scent of homemade goodness (or maybe that's just the lavender and goat milk soap!) I wish I could just bottle it up and have my home smell like that. Everything on sale in here is made by local artisans. From deodorant, decorative candles, soaps and scrubs, wine glasses and mugs, wooden furniture and signs, beauty products, clothing....there is truly something unique here for everyone. Lots of organic and fair trade items as well. I had the pleasure of meeting Stephani, one of the owners while we (my son and I) were there and she is just the sweetest. Additionally, they will be hosting events in this space as well. I think along the lines of Mommy & Me classes and adult wine/art nights. Special thanks to the wonderful staff Mary and Joe. Both are super knowledgeable about fitting the right sneaker to difficult feet. They practice what they preach in their description  "we place emphasis on "fitting" shoes based on the individual customer's needs and educate the consumer about foot health and footcare related products to help alleviate and prevent foot pain and disorders" The selection at this divine store is remarkable but the service is truly the most outstanding feature and makes the sneakers well worth the price. In July I returned to Furs By Prezioso, to have this coat shortened, as full length was not practical for me. I picked up my coat today and could not be more thrilled! The new length was perfect, new fasteners were sewn in, and I also received the length of fur that was cut off! I'm a male college student with a thing for vintage menswear and saving money. I set up an…read moreappointment with Lorry (she isn't always at her shop) and the from moment I stepped in, her mission was to determine who I am and what my style is. She showed me around a few racks of sport coats and suits she'd picked out in advance, knowing roughly what to expect from our phone conversation, and with my reactions, quickly worked her way to my tastes. As a saleswoman, Lorry doesn't push - she just showed me stuff and went with how I felt. She was even honest enough to tell me, when I was hedging on a jacket, "if you're doing that now, you'll do it every time you put it on. It's not worth it." I eventually ended up with a gorgeous wool suit, circa early '70s, which was exquisitely dry cleaned and pressed (which she does with all her merchandise). She priced the comparable suits she got from this source at $225, but this was for her Manhattan market. As a first-time customer who was a student and from her hometown, she let me have it for $95. It needed a little bit of tailoring but she gave me a very complete recommendation for what to do, how to have it done, and who to take it to. The rest of our conversation was about mutual friends/family who we discovered we had. I was there for an hour and a half! You almost feel like an honorary nephew or something in this place. A breakdown: Prices: I didn't get enough of an idea with other merchandise to determine, but these are not thrift store prices. Then again, they're not thrift store items, and she'll work with you. Selection: extensive, sometimes kooky and sometimes very wearable, consistently vintage (lots of 50s-70s). Experience: very pleasant and focused entirely on you.
