Previously I had them repair our two vehicles from hail damage. Went here to get an estimate of damage prior to contacting my insurance company, as I knew they would send me here anyway. (My insurance company uses Autobody USA as a preferred repair facility.) Met with Ted Otten, he wrote up an estimate of damage. I was in and out in ten minutes or so. Contacted my insurance provider and was told to make arrangements with Autobody USA - Southside for the repairs appointment. I called Debi and made arrangements to drop my car off the day before. I dropped the vehicle off and ran some errands with my wife. Only a few hours later Debi called me to tell me my vehicle was finished. I could pick it up later when ever it was convenient! We drove back to find my vehicle was indeed ready, plus it had been washed, vacuumed out and waiting for me! How about that for service!!!? Now that does not mean your vehicle will be ready a full day ahead of schedule, but, that is they way they do business! Should it become necessary for me or anyone I know to need auto body repairs. I will be sending them here! You cannot go wrong with Autobody USA - Southside. We setup to return it to be fixed, when we got it back a few days later the manager wanted to argue that the paint can happen and that was the best they could do. How about doing it right the first time and not giving us a BS line about what we may or may not know about paint and clearcoat. Such bad customer service to try to make the customer feel stupid instead of realizing that the job wasn't done well and to try to find a way to fix it. This is what is wrong with Customer service and why people get tired of dealing with this crap. I would NEVER again recommend Southside to ANYONE.

I love these guys!…read more If I had come here for the past few years instead of going to Lentz, I could have saved thousands, and I do mean thousands of dollars. They've been able to figure out issues other mechanics could not diagnose (or things the other mechanics got wrong/screwed up), and instead of cringing when I hear the price, I think, "Oh, that's not so bad." The owner and mechanics are friendly. I was sitting in the lobby, waiting for a ride, and everyone who passed through asked if I'd been helped, if I had a ride coming, etc. It was pouring rain the last time I waited for my ride, and even though they were closing, they offered to let me stick around in the lobby until my ride came. They're such gentlemen.

I showed up the next day around 10 am, and the receptionist walks in holding groceries and when I just politely said that I was there to pick up my car she goes, "Well I just walked in the door," very rudely. She was EXTREMELY rude to me the entire time and acted like I was the biggest inconvenience for showing up during their hours. She just hands me my key and says "Here." I asked her what was wrong with it (because that's why I went there in the first place) and she told me that there was a timing chain issue and they don't work on those for my motor there and then said "oh and something about a wheel bearing." Very frustrating that my car was there for over 24 hours to barely get an answer with no diagnostic report, nothing. The blonde lady up front is very rude and unhelpful. Everything there seems extremely unorganized and no one knows what's going on. The only reason I gave two stars was because they didn't charge me, which was nice. But very frustrating that I waited a week for an appointment, and went a day without my car for pretty much nothing and to be treated like an inconvenience. I would not recommend this place at all.
