He even called their parts distributor to make sure I would receive them before the weekend, which I did. Just thought I'd update everyone since I posted a review a few years back. It is still a one star…read moreand has not changed, especially considering I never went back. AVOID THIS SHOP at all costs, quite literally a scummy fishy shop. Lets start at the beginning, I had brought my car to LV Auto Service Center for a transmission diagnosis since the transmission had been having some shutters and slipping going on. In the first week of my vehicle being there it was actually good service, they did their standard diagnosis for over $200 and told me that my air intake had come loose causing some issues with the motor getting to much air and they had fixed that issue. Now this is where the shit show starts... They then had me reschedule for a "transmission rebuild" and I say rebuild lightly. They also at this time told me that the repairs would cost around $4000 for the full repairs and had me put a down payment of $2000. Mind you they had quoted me for a transmission build without even properly diagnosing the vehicle. At this time I was not aware they did not know exactly what the issue was, they did not make me aware of them not checking either, now this is suspicious because they charged me a diagnosis but then didn't mention what exactly was wrong with the vehicles transmission, just vaguely stated as a "transmission rebuild". Now from here it continues to get worse, I'm honestly angry I didn't take legal action against this shop. I unfortunately do not own the vehicle they worked on anymore but they are the reason I had to sell it. Okay, anyways, I bring the vehicle back to the shop for the "transmission rebuild" and I had great feelings about it, they assured me that the vehicle would be hopefully wrapped up within 2 weeks and they'll get started on it right away. I dropped it off that day with hope but then that was immediately squashed when I called back a week later to get an update. No answer to the first call, second call I get a hold of somebody. They tell me they have not started on the vehicle and weren't sure if it needed to be rebuilt. Why the absolute hell would this shop charge me a $2000 prepay fee for a transmission rebuild that they hadn't even get properly diagnosed. Obviously, I was furious I told them they needed to start on it ASAP since they had said it was going to be done within two weeks and I needed the vehicle for daily driving, so yeah this whole time they held my car hostage I was struggling to figure out how to get a mode of transportation. After I spoke to them on the phone they said they would test drive it and give me a call back. I waited and waited for that call, it never came. I had to call them every single time I needed an update, never once got a call from them, I call them back and they tell me the vehicle is not slipping and is driving fine, excuse me? You're telling me I just prepaid $2000 for a transmission rebuild that I didn't need? Yeah no not happening, I told them they needed to drop the pan, check fluid, and to do a transmission flush if needed and MAKE SURE there is no metal shavings in the transmission fluid. They check the pan, find metal shavings! Who could've guessed, I was right there was something wrong with my vehicle. By this point they've had the vehicle for almost 2 weeks now with me having to ASK them to properly diagnose my vehicle, to get some sort of actual answer on what could be going on, its almost like they didn't know what they were doing and couldn't admit it. My guess is they didn't know what they were doing, especially cause a few months go by of complete radio silence from LV Auto Service Center. At this point I had already purchased another mode of transportation, due to them holding my car and not working on it. I give them a call some months later to get an update on the car, no update "still working on it" they said. 6-7 months go by, I have to call every single week for them to tell me anything about the status of my vehicle and turns out they had shipped it to another transmission to shop to work on it, without my knowledge. This guy was extremely rude and unprofessional, and eventually was tired of my calling for updates and then eventually washed his hands of the vehicle and sent it back to LV Auto Service Center. I call LV Auto Service Center after they receive the vehicle and they tell me they are not sure if it is fixed or not but it "drove fine" and then charged me the rest. I was absolutely astonished by this, but at this point the car was running fine. The transmission was no longer slipping and I had thought it was over there, but no I was very wrong. I drove that car for 2 months before the transmission had went out again, bring it back since its still under warranty. They refuse to work on the vehicle and said they couldn't get parts, even though they had claimed they would be able to repair the vehicle for me in the first place, they held my vehicle for 10-12 months. They've been able to figure out issues other mechanics could not diagnose (or things the other mechanics got wrong/screwed up), and instead of cringing when I hear the price, I think, "Oh, that's not so bad." The owner and mechanics are friendly. I was sitting in the lobby, waiting for a ride, and everyone who passed through asked if I'd been helped, if I had a ride coming, etc. It was pouring rain the last time I waited for my ride, and even though they were closing, they offered to let me stick around in the lobby until my ride came. There are red flags all over this business if you are willing to look for them…read more I've had them do numerous jobs from oil changes and battery swaps, to diagnostic work (good luck), to system flushes, and the takeaway is always the same. This business does not care about your personal property, nor do they care about getting the job done right. They fall short in very simple/basic business practices - If you want updates on the service being provided, its on you to check in; they call you to pick your car up minutes before closing; they didn't know the battery of my car was located under the seat (for a foreign auto mechanic?); the list goes on and on. Scanning the reviews, you can begin to see this is an on-going issue. Recently over the last three months (and three separate diagnostic attempts), I was charged $2500 to fix a temperature sensor - after the third attempt, they instructed me to go to the dealer as they had neither the tools, nor the knowledge to do the work needed. The mechanic basically misdiagnosed the issue from the beginning. Now, they've washed their hands of the situation but not before gladly accepting the money. Mind you by the third attempt, there was zero urgency to get my car in and fixed. I was told I would have to wait a minimum of two weeks before anyone could re-diagnose the issue. (great business practice btw) At the end of the day, this was a stupidity tax on myself for not seeing the red flags and not reading the reviews before hand. Simple procedures should be fine here, but anything serious - I would avoid like the plague.

Autobahn gave me a good price and even put in a used coolant overflow tank that I bought off eBay. I was impressed and they were quick. But this shop messed up the powered steering hose. The car never leaked fluids until this shop fixed the car. Now I put $8 in power steering fluid every week and it promptly leaks out all over the garage. I did take it back in to the shop to have them fix it. They did not charge me for the repair, but they also did not fix the hose. It still leaks. Also before I took my car into this shop the air conditioner worked. Now it doesn't. I can only imagine how much this is going to cost. Thank you guys for effing up my used car. The repair was affordable, but it seems you did $3000 worth of damage to my car. If you are in the market for a mechanic that does more damage to your car than they repair then Autobahn Imports in St Joseph, MI is the shop for you. Oh, there is more. I asked them to flush the transmission and I don't know if they did it. The transmission still slips and when I picked the car up the check transmission light was still on the instrument panel.
