I later discovered their WA contractor registration (License No. DYOUNYP976PA) had lapsed 21 days before the job -- meaning the work was performed without a valid license, in violation of RCW 18.27.020. I sent two formal written letters (both email, and hard copy) requesting reimbursement. No response to either.
