My husband was trying to replace the sink shut off valves in one of our bathrooms when he discovered the main shut off valve wasn't completely shutting off the water. I sent a job request via Yelp, requesting unblocking our kitchen sink drain, and if time allowed, replacing the valves and drain pipe on a bathroom sink. They replied with an estimate for a drain unblock; the office had apparently misunderstood my written request. It sounded expensive, but the sink wasn't going to unblock itself, and my attempts had failed. And my previous results with cheaper plumbers were, shall we say, mixed. We set a date. When they arrived, they said that the proce quote was for a bathroom sink unblock; kitchen sinks were more. I was tired of the mess in the sink and went ahead with it. The fix was really quick. And it has taken me a while to write this, and it's still clear. That's a success. If I were rating just the plumber I think this would be five stars. On Tuesday I called at 11am, it was clear they had no idea we had already spoken, emailed and texted. Was told I would be the next stop within 2-3 hours. No one showed up. Around 7pm received a text message they were not able to come that day, but could schedule me for late in the afternoon on Wednesday. I replied with a time window and received no response, and that next afternoon still had not heard back from them. Total for 2 hours and 15 minutes, they charged around 715.28 just for the inspection and cutting out the drywall. Definitely on the expensive side. I had my garbage disposal replaced, shower head replaced, and he figured out the noise coming from my water heater. This is a pretty belated review, but Ridgid Plumbing did a great job with the replacement of a hot water recirculating pump. I greatly appreciate that they provided a free estimate and then on the next visit, two technicians (I think including the boss) came by and performed the replacement. My old unit was making super scary loud noises (as if it might explode), so I basically left it unplugged, and upon removal, the the Ridgid plumber demonstrated that the motor was busted They had the exact same model of the unit that broke, used it to replace my old one, and it's been working great for me for the past year +, indicating successful installation! There was one instance of it making some hissing noises but I was able to self service by bleeding air out of the pump; so having a working replacement that I can self service is awesome. They also recommended using a timer to extend its lifespan, and that's been working well! read more
