Where to begin... Their application process was beyond extensive, borderline invasive with some of the questions. I understood fully that they may not communicate in a timely manner, but good lord was it a struggle to get a response. After asking me questions that were already answered in the application, I had to ask several times for any response. When I finally got one, all they said was I "wasn't a good fit", despite having extensive experience in caring for the dog I was interested in adopting. They say the dog would do best in a home with a single person, despite the foster home he is currently in having multiple people and pets in. It's like the foster home just wants to adopt him, but won't. I don't know. It's just super weird and frustrating. I feel like if I had offered a large donation I would have been approved. We had a confusing experience with this adoption organization. The application is extensive, which I appreciate having worked at a pet adoption center before. There are definitely strong opinions held by the volunteers working with this organization. There is a negative vibe about traditional animal centers, which are not all bad in my experience. And when we went to meet the dog we were interested in, we felt scolded by the trainer that is working with the dog. It was hard to have a relaxed meeting to see if we were a match. I found it strange that we were not invited to see other dogs even though we had driven over 30 minutes to visit one, and there were 4 or 5 others available at that same Foster home. Instead of being helpful and open, we left feeling like we weren't good enough even though we have an excellent track record rescuing animals throughout our lives. When they followed up with me via email, I asked about other dogs and was told to just go to their Facebook page. Our experience was AMAZING! We love our pup! Snooty name was Saluda St. Henry. Her foster named her piranha Sue due to her puppy nibbling so we went with the name Suzy. Suzy continued with the training that accompanied the adoption fee for a bit but Covid got in the way. Snooty Giggles trained (our then 4 month old) Suzy before we adopted her. This made such a difference for us! It was also very apparent that the foster was extremely picky when approving placement of the pup. For this, I'm very appreciative! Tried to adopt a dog and was denied because they THOUGHT that a 2.7lb dog needed a fence otherwise he would get bored. Didn't even bother asking me if I planned on going on adventures with him and whatnot just down right denied us. I had a very sad experience with snooty Giggles dog rescue. I was very interested in a sweet rescue. We found one at Snooty giggles and filled out all the paperwork and proceeded to the meet and greet. Were lead to believe that we did great at the meet-and-greet. That is where all communication ceased. We were left wondering and never heard back from them. After many request 4 some type of information, I finally heard back from the Foster mother who said we were rejected because we didn't give our dog a high enough quality food. We told them we were happy to feed the dog whatever she wanted. All we wanted was to provide the best home possible. We have a fenced yard and I am home full-time. I have another dog who I love so much and wanted another companion for her and us. We feel that we were treated very unfairly and I would definitely not recommend this rescue! read more

After our experience with the process I started looking into the organization and was shocked at some of what I was seeing. I highly recommend rescuing from a more reputable shelter. More than anything, we wanted to be a good fit for our future dog and for our future dog to be a good fit for us (e.g., first-time dog owners, a single-dog home, small fenced-in yard, home most of the day for now but maybe not long term, medium-to-low energy dog, etc.). To accomplish this, we were willing to be patient and thorough and were looking for a shelter that could be the same. While searching Petfinder carefully for many days, we noticed that Snooty Giggles Dog Rescue always had amazingly detailed information about their dogs so we knew they really took the time to get to know them and learn what each dog would need for the smoothest transition possible. Having never owned a dog before (but with plenty of short and longer-term dog watching), we did our research and learned the "best practices" for taking care of dogs, such as high-quality food (NutriSource Trout and Rice came recommended), vaccines, consistent preventative medicine (especially heartworm and ticks and fleas), and positive behavioral training. We appreciated the very thorough application process and took the time to write out detailed responses and to make it clear that we were open to instruction in areas where we had less experience (e.g., vet recommendations because we didn't have a vet or vet history, having never had a dog of our own before). Because of this, we knew that we might not always be the best match for every dog we were interested in, and, indeed, there were better-matched applicants for the first two dogs that we were hoping to meet: one needed a two-dog home, while the other was a better fit for someone with more experience who wanted a higher-energy dog. The people at Snooty Giggles made it clear from the outset that this could happen, assured us that our application was strong, and encouraged patience. In the end, it didn't take long for us to find, meet, and fall in love with our new Very Good Boy. Ashley went above and beyond to make herself available to us for our MANY questions (specifically about crate training, which we knew would be one of the biggest challenges for this dog!). This was my first experience adopting a dog on my own. In the past year I ended an engagement and lost a dog to the breakup. I was lonely and in need of a companion and was going the adoption route. My sister found my new friend, Eevee, through Snooty Giggles. Their screening process is extensive because they care about the home their dogs go to. They give a two week trial period with your new pet and have been more than gracious with food, obedience training, and initial vet cost. The people I corresponded with weren't snooty to me in any way however even though we had three dogs who lived with us until a ripe old age (15, 15 and 16) with proper vet care they didn't have consistent heart worm prevention so we were not considered to adopt the adorable little guy. I did promise to put him on heart worm prevention even though none of our dogs ever had heart worms, but they don't allow you to adopt without prior proof. We ended up going back to a local breeder we know to get our puppy. I know people say "adopt" not shop but when rescues make it REALLY difficult to adopt a baby to love on then it's much easier on people like us to purchase elsewhere. I hate to encourage people to not try to adopt from here because the dogs need love too but I would say don't try unless you have an impeccable vet record, have fed them top notch food, and can provide proof. My vets office called me afterwards and told me they were rough. read more

Incorrect information presented on the website. We were very eager to adopt a dog from this service, but unfortunately they only accept applications from people who are 25 or older (I am 22). I cannot find this qualification anywhere on their site. It just seems poorly managed. In fact, on the PetFinder page for them, it specifically states that you must be 21 or older to adopt one of their dogs. Seriously, Snooty Giggles, it's not professional to provide incorrect information on your webpage. Please fix this to avoid getting anyone else's hopes up. read more

We adopted a puppy from this rescue 2 years ago, and yes, they were beyond thorough in the vetting process which is exactly what I expected and would want for every dog before placing them in the wrong "home". This prevents the same dogs from not showing up in a shelter later on in life, or worse. I have nothing but good feels for them and the process. read more

I am beyond confused and disappointed. We found a dog on pet finders, filled out the application, and inquired about the dog. We were told were not a good fit. Back and forth emails, answering one concern/objection after another... we are not home enough, she would to be too rough with our kids (2 girls 8 & 11, not littles), she's not crate trained yet... time spent outside (Not sure how Im supposed to know how much time my dog is going to want to be outside) and on... I answered EVERY objection. I question these people's motives. We are the perfect family for almost any dog but we fell in love with this one... big mistake. Steer clear, they are only interested in wielding power, not finding forever homes for these dogs. read more

I am in the same boat as Yelpers Dan B. and Ally M. I saw a dog on their website that I fell in love with, despite it's condition (Hydrocephalus and blindness). I filled out their considerably sizable and detailed application. They called my vet reference, and because my previous pets did not receive heart worm preventative on a regular basis, they refused to continue the application any further. I appreciate the time they take in making sure each dog does not end up endangered in the home it is placed in, however their overly strict application and process making adopting a dog way more difficult than it every has to be. I recently lost my over joyous, always loving dog of 13 years Peaches to cancer and was in search of a puppy to fill the emptiness in our home. Every animal we own/have owned are happy and healthy and live great lives! Every pet we've had has never had an issue with heartworms and Snooty Giggles needs to realize that not every preventative comes from a vet (tractor supply and pet product stores sell them as well). But sadly, I didn't fall into their "perfect dog owner" category regardless of how loving or caring me and my family are. Regardless of circumstance or reason or the amount of time I spent filling out that overly detailed application. Regardless of them digging into my person information and calling my vets only to tell me I've been rejected? I too have to wonder how many applications they receive for their animals and how many perfectly good adoptions have fallen through due to one tiny imperfection they find. This particular dog has a condition that not many people would be willing to open their mind, home, and bank account to. You would think they'd be happy to find someone willing to take him considering his price was only a "suggested donation of $50". You'd think they'd put care enough for their dog's and to look deeper into the customer willing to adopt rather than just what they see on paper and in records. However, that just simply isn't the case here. They successfully use their application, vet references, and background checks to make you feel nothing but judged and criticized. These people fail to realize that I could go out and find a perfectly good puppy with no handicaps at all for the same time and price, yet I invested my energy into trying to get their specific visually impair Hydro dog. I too feel sorry for the countless dogs that could easily be adopted into a loving home right now but are forced into this overly strict system of Snooty Giggles. I saw a dog on their website that I fell in love with at first sight, and which was a breed I was in search of and having trouble finding outside of a pure-bred breeder. I filled out their lengthy, excessively detailed application. They called my vet reference, and because my current dogs are not on heartworm preventative, they refused to continue the application any further. I jumped through all their hoops. I have two dogs who are my children, whom I love to death. Both are rescues. Both are happy and healthy and live good, fulfilling lives. I have owned dogs my whole life, and never had an issue with heartworms. My dogs are indoors 90% of the time. I am from a different state than this rescue, and was willing to drive 6 hours round trip to pick up the dog just to save them the trouble and make the dog's experience less stressful. But no. I didn't follow their rigid, arbitrary rules, and regardless of any other factors or considerations, I am not qualified to adopt the dog or even speak in my own defense. Just like that. Application over, no dice, go fuck yourself. I have to wonder how many applications they receive for their animals? This particular dog has been in foster care for four months. You'd think they'd be happy to find someone willing to bend over backward to give it a home. You'd think they'd be able to see, rationally, that heartworm meds notwithstanding, I am an extremely good candidate for adopting a dog. You'd think they'd put the dog's well-being and future ahead of their own rigid policies. But you'd be wrong. It's not about the dogs. It's about petty tyrants throwing their petty power around to make themselves feel important. Don't give these people your business. But even if you do, if you fail to dot an i or cross a t, you might as well be Michael Vick as far as these people are concerned. I feel sorry for their dogs. read more

As other reviews state, "Snooty" fits them very well. They are rude and pompous from the start for no reason at all, and definitely enjoy wrongly judging and wielding their "power", but the ones who their arrogance hurts are the dogs who are being robbed of so many great homes. The more applications they WRONGLY deny (if there's actual cause then of course that's different!), the more dogs don't get the help/rescue they need. I feel they are a detriment to animal rescue, and with so many bad reviews, I'm not the only one. Read all the other reviews and see the various, ridiculous reasons they've given for adoption denial. I've been approved by several other rescues, have absolutely no reason not to be - great home with large, private fenced in yard, the means and willingness to provide great care and lots of love, and access to some amazing vets in our county. After my initial experience with them, and reading all the other reviews, I've decided to go through one of the many other rescues who actually put the dogs above all else! read more

I reached out to this dog rescue about a specific dog they were fostering. At their request, I filled out their lengthy and detailed application and provided references. They contacted me to ask for another reference besides family, which I provided them immediately. One week went by with no communication, and I could no longer see the dog I wanted on their website. I reached out to follow up with the owner, Shawn Aswad, and was told that dog had already been adopted out. She told me I never sent a reference. When I forwarded her the time-stamped email, I got a half-assed apology and she told me I should look at the dogs still available. I have since gotten a puppy from a wonderful new place in Franklin. But just for shits and, well, giggles, I just looked at their website, and the dog that I originally wanted is somehow back in their care...you would think they would take the time to reach back out to people who had applied for a specific dog if for some reason they get it back? Obviously they have horrible customer service and horrible follow-through. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this dog rescue. read more

I filled out their extensive adoption application, only to get an email stating that they prefer adopters 25 and older. (I'm 21 and my husband is 23) Since when is age a determining factor? I know multiple people 25 and older that do not have their life together. My husband and I were so excited to find a puppy on their website and we believed she would be the perfect addition to our home. We have two dogs who we raised from a very young age (6-8 weeks) and they are now 2 and 9. I asked if they could send more pictures and I was told to check their Facebook page, which I did and was told to fill out an application. The application was incredibly thorough but I appreciate that because they should be selective on who they adopt their animals out to. I was quickly told that we could not adopt a puppy because we have full time jobs, which was confusing because I had explained that my husband and I had successfully raised and trained our two dogs at home. The lady was not friendly and made this whole experience even more unpleasant. We were willing to drive 8 hours (4 hours there and 4 hours back) to pick up this sweet girl but because we work full time, we couldn't get her but "could be matched with a young dog". ALL dogs need lots of attention and training. Not just puppies, so that didn't make any sense. After I replied stating that we were well equipped and prepared to take care of a puppy, we were told that "all puppies have adoptive families. Thanks." My husband and I just felt that we were quickly judged and brushed aside. I appreciate the quick responses I received but I don't appreciate condescending tones. We love our dogs and are excited to seek elsewhere for our new addition. read more

Stay far away from these people. They are awful. They are judgmental, bigoted and offensive. They clearly get off on withholding pets from people who can't provide every single checkmark or look, sound or act according to their rigid offensive rules and judgments. If only I had read the reviews first on here and elsewhere- I'll never make that mistake again! They are hated and I fully understand why. They are sending away people who would provide good, loving homes for these animals. Who the hell do they think they are? If you don't have the right kind of fence or fit some other arbitrary requirement they just end the application process. And it doesn't matter if there's an easy way to remedy their "problem," I strongly believe they get a rise out of saying no and insulting good people. God only knows what they do to the dogs who fail to tow the line. Its scary! They clearly aren't thinking of the animals when they insult and reject perfectly good candidates. We really wanted to see a puppy featured at their shelter, and the initial email response we received was very excited to have us come by, as no one had yet shown interest in this dog. We applied online (which took a while as they wanted a GREAT deal of information and details that we didn't necessarily have on hand). We submitted our application, and then waited. And waited. And waited. 3 days later, we finally received an email from a condescending woman who said that the puppy was already scheduled for a meet-and-greet, and she had pretty well assumed it was going to go well. She did say, however, that we should go ahead and look at other dogs there, so we inquired after the initial puppy's sibling. After several more days, the woman's emailed response was "Ok, I'll see." That was it. She doesn't care about getting the dogs adopted, and they don't seem eager to want these dogs in better homes. There are other shelters that are more than eager for us to adopt one of their shelter dogs, and are far better salesmen. These guys are just as they describe themselves - SNOOTY!! read more

I love SGDR! I have fostered for them for a number of years and just recently adopted a pup from them. This organization specializes in the rescue of special needs and senior dogs as well as mix breeds, puppies and sometimes even the occasional pot belly pig and rabbits! The director is straightforward and helpful with all a potential adopters, the dog trainer is also helpful. Where else could you adopt a dog that comes with a chip, 6 weeks of training, puppies with all of their shots, spayed/neutered, and complete descriptions of them via their link on petfinders.com? I love this organization and can't say enough good about them! Please consider SGDR when thinking about adoption or before you buy a dog. read more

I contacted Snooty Giggles on a specific puppy they had and was on PETFINDERS. I filled out their LONG and DETAILED application. After a few days I was told my app was accepted. I told them what puppy I wanted THEN they told me the puppy was at a 2 week trial if I would be interested in another puppy that they had her sister there. My reply was YES I would. After talking to the person where she was being fostered she sent me videos and pictures. I called SNOOTY GIGGLES the next day to find out when I can get her. Thats when she told me I live too far away and it WOULD NOT be possible to set a meet and greet or a home visit. THE FOLLOWING DAY I went on the SNOOTY GIGGLES SITE and see pictures of the puppy with its NEW FAMILY !!!!!!!!! I agree with one other review on this site that was 'not recommended' by yelp that these guys are exactly what their name says- SNOOTY!!! I submitted an application and expressed interested in a small dog for our family. They needed lots of information including proof of heartworm prevention medication administered to our current dog. (Absolutely understandable) I told them I can provide that information on Monday (2 days later) after her next vet appointment. Monday morning literally 30 minutes before my dog's appointment, I received a short, very rude email flat out rejecting my application. I asked if they could wait 45 minutes for me to send a photo of my receipt from the vet as proof that my current dog is up to date on heartworm medication- they said no. Absolutely ridiculous and uptight and I will NEVER consider this SNOOTY adoption agency again. I can't believe they would deny the chance of a dog to have a loving, caring home over 45 minutes. read more
