I'm going to start this post with apologies for the length. It's not even close to all that should be said though. For most of 2019 I've been attempting to secure a puppy to train as my new service dog. I found a breeder that I thought was reputable, and made arrangements to make payments to them for this little cutie, with the intention of picking her up on September 12th from Snowdrift Kennels in Blue Point, NY owned by Victoria Girolami. Days before my trip Victoria decided to keep the puppy rather than trust that I had the dog's best interest at heart as well. While I wasn't happy about it, I understood her position and was willing to start my search over once she had refunded the money I had already sent her (totaling $1,100.00). She refused, and has kept the money I gave her. Money that had been fundraised by my internet friends so I could afford a well bred puppy, suitable for for training as a service dog. My service dog. I was bereft. Not only did I lose the puppy I had already bought all the supplies I would need for, but I lost the money my friends had been fundraising all year. I didn't know what to do until someone suggested I take Victoria and her business to small claims court. Truly believing I wouldn't see a penny of the money back, I filed the paperwork and moved forward. On Monday, on December 9th, 2019, the Sixth District Court of Suffolk County NY placed a judgement against Victoria and her business for the amount I gave her plus interest back to the date of the last check I gave her in June, and all the fees associated with trying to get the money back from her through the courts. As I was waiting for the court date I found out Victoria was not who she claimed to be, and that her business (including her breeding practice) has been reported to the Suffolk County Police so often that they knew who she was when I spoke to the front desk officer before I gave them her information. She has been reported for abuse repeatedly, and "poor business practices" often enough that the county sheriff's department knew her. This has left me believing that even if I never see a dime back, I need to make sure no one else does business with her without knowing who she really is and the way she treats not just people, but her dogs. To this end, I am sharing my story everywhere I can think of. I want this business to be shut down if at all possible, and if not, I want everyone who does business with her to know exactly the type of person they have chosen to support. I have attached a copy of the last few messages between Victoria and myself (sorry if they are out of order), and a picture of the Suffolk County Sixth District Court Judgment. I have also shared the message I received on FB from another family Victoria ripped off. She sold them a sick puppy and refused to take responsibility for it. As far as I know, the puppy I attempted to buy was sold less than a week later, but others who have dealt with her have told me she might never have existed at all (apparently this is a common trick for her to sell non existent puppies and then just keep the money). She never even bothered to come to court to argue why she kept the money. By NYS law you need to be licenced to be a breeder in NY, Snow Drift Kennels and the owner Victoria are not. NYS has pet "lemon laws" that Victoria refuses to abide by. And from the comments Victoria has made, I have reason to suspect she's been committing tax fraud by charging for taxes she then doesn't pay. I have filed complaints with everyone I can think of trying to stop her. Please Please Please do not support this business or this family. They are not who they seem to be and they will use your money to continue to abuse the animals in their care. read more

If you receive money for a puppy then you provide a puppy, if you do not handout the puppy you return the money, it's as simple as that. NOT SO with this kennel. Taking advantage of vulnerable people who paid for a puppy that would become their severely needed service dog is repulsive and criminal. We could talk about how insulting, rude & uncooperative the kennel has been but stealing money from a chronically sick person paying for the puppy with what they knew to be donated money to make that dream possible, should be enough to turn anyone away from doing business with this kennel. Took the money we donated to our disabled friend, then refused to send her the puppy. Cited that they wouldn't send the puppy unless she had specific food for it - we BOUGHT the specific food for her. Then the owners threatened not to return the cheque unless our friend "took a chill pill", and has since been found to have already sold the dog elsewhere AND SPENT the money, so they COULDN'T send it back to our friend - leaving her with no dog, and $1100 of donations out of pocket. I understand this isn't the first time they've been taken to small claims for just this reason - buyer beware! read more

I didn't know anything about this place and stopped by yesterday when I happened to be driving through the area. Vicky was very nice and showed great compassion to the animals I saw her with. I just read the bad reviews about some of the dogs looking mistreated there. As for the dogs that looked matted, when I was contemplating getting a husky in the past I read that when they shed, their fur can become splotchy. Perhaps this is what was happening which made them appear un groomed? The animals I saw yesterday looked very well cared for and happy. read more

I have been coming to this establishment for over 14 years. I'm not understanding these 3 poor reviews which are obviously from people that know each other...I have been lucky enough to have gotten my 2 huskies from Vicki, but I also bring my dogs there when I am away. Vicki loves and treats each and every dog like they are her children. To say that the dogs are unkept, not fed enough and lay in their own feces is nothing more than a lie from someone who doesn't know what they are talking about. read more

Very knowledgable people! Vicky is very caring and is always there to give me advice about my pets when I am in need. The store is a little shabby but nothing beats the mom n pop atmosphere and the care these people have for mine and many other animals. Jessie is great at grooming animals and very affordable. I always know my animals are in good hand whether I'm there for food, vitamins, grooming, or boarding. Love this place, have for years (they've been there for over thirty) read more

Many of my friends helped one of our friends raise money for another friend to get a husky to train as a service dog. The owner Victoria decided last minute to not give her the dog we paid for and 3 months later, has still refused to refund the money we raised so she could find another breeder for a service dog. Victoria has actually gone as far as to say not only unprofessional, but harmful things to our friend, while still refusing to give our money back to her. read more
