You can still read the menu but at first glance, you will question if it's your vision. LOL. My "mini" Mahalo-halo was perfect! It didn't make me feel that guilty at all. I mean, I'm all about dessert before a meal. In my experience, it is always a challenge to eat Halo halo because it's filled to the top. My strategy: take off the cover (if it's not overspilling: if it is, skip this step), eat some of the ice cream, and take a few sips! It's been a great while since I've been to the food court and decided to see what's up there instead of driving around to figure what I was craving and was happy to see Bee's Boba Express in the corner. Super cute kiosk filled with various drink offering including floats, smoothies and even shave ice cups. I really didn't want something too sweet just a refreshing drink on this hot and humid day as just entering the air conditioned building alone felt like my skin was healing, so I decided on a Apple Green Tea which sounded nice and though looking at the menu and pics I seriously didn't think it would really be that vibrant green but in fact it was actually much more greener like I'm having straight syrup which is what it tasted like....super super sweeeeet. OMG for mer personally nothing could have saved it not adding water or tea which I can believe it contained tea all I could taste was sweet...sigh! The staff was nice and friendly very efficient in making my drink but after just a few sips it had to go. The hard-working staff was providing huge portions, about the size of a baby's head covered with our choice of dozens of delicious syrups. After seeing these large portions go past me, I asked for baby size or even half baby size and was served about something the size of my fist. Certainly a nice serving on a hot day. I also opted for the heavy cream poured on top, deliciousness! Strongly recommended for any party where you can park a truck. Really fantastic!

Combined these flavors showcase the colors of the rainbow, hence the name. And you absolutely must get your shave ice with condensed milk. If your shave ice doesn't look like a fresh blanket of snow on top a colorful mountain, you are doing it wrong. The ice is soft. They offer a ton of flavors and toppings. Most importantly, the ratio between shave ice and syrup has to be proportionate. Otherwise, you'll end up with mostly melted shave ice or a pile of ice at the end. The center had no syrup and that area had a strange smell and taste. Blue raspberry wasn't cloying sweet but had minimal flavor. The cotton candy resembled cherry at most but was even more tasteless than the blue raspberry. Maybe next time just opt in for their inexpensive hot dog or visit the burger truck nearby for something more filling when visiting Pearl Harbor.

Located down Umi Street not too far from neighboring New City Nissan on N King Street, Samurai moved to their current location in 1995 serving Maui style sherbet, popcorn and other local snacks. They also expanded to Samurai Snacks Aiea for an impressive 20+ years before closing its doors in May 2023. We arrived shortly after lunch time where we pondered at the menu wondering what to get. It's not fancy here at Samurai - - the storefront is basic and nothing fancy with a few seats patrons can sit on if they decide to eat their treats on premise. Morale has been low at the office so I decided to get some convenient prepackaged 4oz assorted Samurai cups to cheer up the staff. My colleagues also picked up some bags of buttered popcorn with mochi crunch and furikake for an informal office party to welcome the much needed weekend. Because we were already there, we also got some soft serve cups to cool down before heading back to the office. My colleagues had the classic strawberry and blue vanilla swirl and I selected the mango. My colleagues enjoyed their selection but the mango didn't live up to my expectations. The color was vibrant and enticing but sadly the mango flavor did not come through. Each cup came with a sugar roll cookie that was delicious. After our cold treat we headed back to the office with our surprise for our colleagues where it was a big hit. There were many happy faces standing in line grabbing some popcorn and a 4-oz cup of Samurai. Overall, a much better experience with Samurai that's deserving of an update with higher marks.
