Ordered the special through Uber Eats. Asked that they not obliterate the hamburger patty, (they hav a tendency to smash the hell out of them)and that it be pink. I think that their buy one get one free was because they cut the amount of meat in half. It was over cooked , and so salty I had to throw it out. Used to be one of the best burgers around. I've been living literally 3min from this place and finally decided to try it. Here is my take Pros- the chicken was delicious Cons- they don't have drink menu's, when my girl said she wanted something sweet they didn't bother to suggest anything either. Cons- I ordered a long Island ice tea but felt like I was drinking ice water. In their defense it was pretty busy and it was also my first visit but first impressions go a long way. I did enjoy the food so maybe my take will change in the future...we shall see read more

This place has a very nice burger. It's large and taste terrific. The fries were good too. They do have a good variety of bottled beer however the ones on tap is limited. They do have lunch specials during the week. The place is clean and the service is good as well as friendly. Parking is limited and they have signs where not to park. The building has a history from way back. It use to be the towns mortuary. Well I was there for lunch and left before the ghosts show up. (Kidding about the ghosts not the mortuary part.) My only dismay was they allow smoking inside and since I don't smoke I smelled it immediately when I entered. If you are a smoker this might be a plus for you. Overall a nice experience! read more

My husband has neuropathy, the bartender automatically assumed he had been drinking & sat a water down in front of him before even saying hello. Assuming he was drunk & she said he was 'stumbling'. Snuffys may seem like a po-dunk, back road, dive bar. But, boy is it the best kind of dive bar a person can find. Usually filled with locals, the assortment of beers and fantastic menu keep them coming back. I sat at the bar tonight with a few family members who were in town. The bar top was full along with most the tables but we were still served promptly. Food menu came out, I was skeptical. We ordered finger food(potato skins, chili cheese fries, queso), burgers, taco salad, wings and a quesadilla. Not ONE thing was bad. ALL quite delicious actually. Great home style burger, tender and juicy, quesadilla was packed full of pulled pork, taco salad had one of the BEST shells I've ever eaten and I personally had the Parmesan wings. My job takes me all over North Austin area. I try to support the local businesses wherever I am. I passed by this old relic from a previous century and decided to check it out. Well, the beer is cold, the food is yummy and the servings are surely plentiful. Their speciality is the burgers but I wanted to sample the fried chicken sandwich with onion rings. Both were super with crunchy crust and hot and juicy chicken and onion rings were amazing! If you haven't been here and you live in the area, you are missing a local pub and grill treasure! I've only been to Snuffy's once a while back for a beer after work, but loved the place's atmosphere. Great mix of all kind of patrons.

As far as "Dive Bars" go, this place is great. Bartender was attentive as he could be for as busy as it was. Drink prices were reasonable. Great mix of patrons. Bar was very clean. Beware, you will have to deal with some smoke but for those of us who grew up in the 70's it was like stepping back in time. I'll start with the food. I ordered wings and they were completely dry. My guess is they reheat precooked wings and then toss them in sauce. I couldn't even finish them. Maybe other food is good and I just picked something that wasn't. However, the real kicker for me was that they allow smoking. I don't recall seeing any signs stating they did. But in 2022, I didn't even think that was a thing anymore. So, when more people got there and started smoking, I had enough and left. I will not be back. read more

The only downside is that people can smoke inside this establishment. I want to give it 5 stars anyways due to the exceptional bar food and great service. Drinks are strong and priced well. Neat little dive bar & grill to stop at when passing through Hutto. They are known for their burgers, however, I didn't try one as the kitchen is closed on Sundays. So my friend and I stopped here on our way through and we were greeted by one of the locals which gave it a welcoming vibe. Then the bartender, Johnnie was on the spot to take our order, she gave us the lowdown on the place and explained why there was a HUGE stuffed hippo head on the wall (yikes! Not my thing) but she was super sweet, informative and right there to help if i happened to look her direction. She conversated with us quite a bit actually as we were the "new people on the block" so to speak. Personally, I wouldnt advise listening to other reviewers, saying she's rude because she is the furthest thing from rude, I can only imagine that it was bartender/waitress rivalry so I'd consider the source. I went for the burger, as that seems to be what everyone recommends, and I cannot comment on any other offerings. As others have mentioned, the place definitely smells like smoke, so if that is a turn off for you, you've been warned. The burger itself was pretty good. I don't feel like it lives up to the hype though. The burger was rather large (1/2lb I believe) well charred, decently seasoned, and well done (I was not asked, so I can only assume well done is your only option). Topping appeared fresh and plentiful. If you live in Hutto, are tired of the chains and want to grab a good burger without driving too far then I can't think of a better place to go. If you're willing to drive out of your way a bit though, then you can definitely do better. read more

A Veteran who was only looking to relax as a regular patron of this establishment was asked to leave simply due to having a quiet and well mannered service dog at his feet. This encounter was poorly addressed by the owner, who clearly has no compassion or comprehension of that which those suffering from PTSD endure daily due to serving their country and community. Perfect. The way an old fashioned, proper burger should be. Perfectly charred (huge) half pound burger patty from the griddle, toasted bun and whatever else you want on it. Tip: this burger does not need any cheese. The existing flavors and textures of the meat, bun and fixins are just right. Bring your appetite but also be prepared to ingest lots and lots of 2nd hand smoke. This place is a cigarette smokers haven. Would be a great bar, could be a great bar ... but the smoke is just too much. After one beer, my eyes were burning. I smelled my clothes after I got home and they smell like an ashtray. Too bad, because I my friends, who ordered food, said that the burgers are excellent. But we all agreed that we can't return unless they somehow improve the smoke situation.
