I needed to find bolts to replace the ones that came with an office chair that I recently purchased. The bolts that came with the chair were just too short to connect to the pre-installed nuts on the legs of the chair. I originally went to Lowe's but they did not have what I needed. The employee suggested that I check with So Cal Bolt & Supply, which was right down the street from Lowe's. I came in, showed the employee the original bolt, and described what I needed. He came back a few minutes later with exactly the bolts that I needed. There is currently a $10 minimum which is totally understandable. Unfortunately, So Cal did not have what I needed which was 3" 1/4-20 couplers. I ultimately found exactly what I wanted in black at Studio Tools of all places. Overall. So Cal has great customer service and the salesman was tremendous. He recommended a local machine shop I will check out. My only complaint is their $10 minimum. While I still have issues with a minimum on a credit card, I understand the fees. If I am paying cash there should be zero minimum. Honestly, every customer for all businesses needs to start only using cash if they don't want the IRS tracking their activities. read more

Nice place. Inventory great. Only downfall is that the place is not open on the weekend. Would be nice if at least it was open on Saturday (close on Wed or Thur, if you want to offset this day). There are plenty of people who do side-jobs on the weekend, and the ability for us to go to this store, at least on Saturday, would be great. Went to home depot and they didn't have this exact size screw I'm looking for. Got recommended to come here. They have pretty much any screw your looking for. They were really friendly and helpful! I highly recommend this place if you're not sure the size of your screw or have any questions with this sort of things! Side note: I found the similar size screw homedepot employee told me to get at home depot. But it wasn't the absolute perfect fit. Bought a used car and had problems with a panel. The previous owner replaced the old door with a door for another model year and the door panels didnt match. Needed metric bolts that were strong while working on my motorcycle. Tried Home Depot & Lowes, no luck. However, the rep at Home Depot suggested SoCal Bolts. It was close, so drove there and gave them a shot. It's a small store. The gentleman in the back was assertive and immediately came to assist. Unfortunately, they didn't have the 10-1.25 bolt either. 'Bolt' is literally in their store name but they don't have a fairly common metric bolt. There is also a sign over the door that says "$5 minimum - Due to Cost of doing business". So even if your paying cash, there is a minimum???? Doesn't make sense to me. So, if you need a bolt and your in the area, I guess give them a try. Felt comfortable walking in a auto hardware store...... I know this business would not be here if the employees didn't know they products. I was right!! The lady in the front greeted us with smiles and pleasantries and showed us to the next room for parts. The gentlemen who came out greeted us a helpful "how can I help you" smile.
