Don't buy Pokémon cards from here. They are resealing and selling them. So, I went in and got a Booster Bundle, slightly below scalper prices, but significantly above MSRP. The guy who brought the cards up, looked like he was mad at me for some reason, and was being very short, and asked for my signature, before even giving me the product. I didn't think much of it, but it felt like he just wanted to get me out, and on my way. My mistake was not looking at the product closely, and inspecting it. I just took it to my car, sat it on my seat and drove home, since it's ACE Hardware, a reputable store. When I got home, I already had 3 other bundles, that I had picked up from a few Pokémon Vending Machines over the last week or so. I noticed that the one from ACE Hardware had a significant thicker, and tighter seal wrap. It felt like a completely different material. I then opened the packs, and I noticed that almost every pack from the ACE bundle, had little openings in the top corners of the individual bags, which none of the other packs had. They also were significantly harder to open, compared to every other pack. Lastly, one of the packs from ACE had a Pokémon card that was near the middle of the pack, was warped. It was significantly bowed, while the other cards around it, we're perfectly straight. After searching online, and doing some research, these were all signs of being a resealed pack. I collect them for fun, and just started. So I just hope they aren't fake cards, and are just resealed "bad pulls" or whatever. I didn't expect to get any good cards, so I don't care too much. Usually Ace people are very helpful compared to Home Depot or Lowe's. I went in looking for rubber bushings. I had bought 10 from another Ace store but they didn't have enough. I needed 14 more l. Having bought it from the other store I had the item number, pictures of the box and pictures of the product with all of the sizes. I couldn't find the item on the shelf so I asked for help. When the guy came over he was already bothered that he was Disturbed and when I showed him where I was looking for, he said that the picture didn't help. Then I showed him the box with the product number on it and he said that didn't help either. So I asked him what can I do to help and then he asked what is it? I said it's a rubber bushing and then he replied that no, that looks like a washer, a sink washer specifically. I replied. No it's not a washer. I can see the washers right there but this is a bushing and I explained again what I was looking for and try to show the picture again. My friend placed an order at acehardware.com and put my name down as the pick up. When I went to pick up the order, I was told the order was already picked up. I asked for the signed receipt and I was given a receipt with a signed name, and obviously the signature was either mine or my friend's. The lady told me to call back 1 to 2 days later so she can escalate it to the store manager after reviewing the video. When I called back 2 days later, the manager then told me my friend has picked up the order with his signature. I told him my friend lives 50 miles away and that's the reason he puts me down as the destinated pick up person. He insisted everything was verified and I had to dispute via acehardware.com. I asked for review of the video and the manager told me this is an issue with acehardware.com and the only way I can escalate is through them. Experience with acehardware.com is similar as they contacted the store and was told the same story. When I asked for the contact of the owner of the store as well as the higher management of acehardware.com, I was told acehardware.com does not have a manager and the owner contact cannot be shared. We will for sure dispute via the CC, but I just want to make people aware how flawed their online system is, as well as how ineffective customer service is regarding with dispute like this. read more

They never have anything I am looking for. Always waste my time stopping in to give them a chance but they are so limited on what they stock so I end up at HD or Lowe's. Customer service is mediocre, the lady is always rude or has an attitude. Leaving this review for my interactions with Ang. My first visit to pick out some paint samples, she was very helpful and I really enjoyed her personality and how knowledgeable she was about paint colors. I returned a few months later to continue finding the right color, again she was very pleasant and helpful. We discussed how the lighting in the room I was painting was making choosing a color difficult. She asked me to write her a good review if we found the right color. I told her I would write her one either way because she had been so helpful. I returned again a few days later to let her know the colors we chose weren't right and she immediately seemed irritated. We looked at some other colors and she said "after this, im throwing up my hands. I don't know" in an annoyed tone. I chose my color for a sample, and she walked away and never said anything again. Not even to let me know the sample was done. She just left it on the counter and went about her business, ignoring me as I waited and walked through the store. Today I returned to get my gallon of the last color I tried. I was so happy to finally have found it. She was there again, stocking merchandise and when she was called over to the paint counter she had the same rude, annoyed attitude. She didn't acknowledge that she had previously helped me. She was very dismissive and short. Again, she left the paint on the counter while I was standing right there. Never telling me it was ready, never saying thank you. Just fully ignoring me. I don't think coming 2 or 3 times for samples is an excessive amount of times. I always had reference pictures, I always told her why a color wasn't working. I don't think I was a difficult customer, but even if I was, suck it up. Its your job to help customers find paint. Putting on a smile and saying "here ya go. have a nice day" isn't that hard. I won't be returning to this location. San Dimas staff is much more pleasant. read more

I went with my dad to see the new 2025 baseball card series packs and I was planning on buying a whole box, but some older and grumpy employee named Gile kept watching me and later told me to put the box back on the shelf, so I told my dad about it in the store and when my dad went up to him, Gile changed his tone and started to act friendly towards me. This Ace hardware store is really small compared to the nearby Lowes and Home Depot and it seems to have an excessive amount of inventory related to grilling but overall it has your basic hardware needs. The only issue with Ace is the extremely high prices. I bought a 32 gallon Toter trash can here for $89.99 and then bought the same one at Home depot for $64.97. This store also does not price match their competitors. However, unlike Lowes and Home Depot I feel like Ace has superior customer service. You can actually find someone who works here that can help you whereas at those other two stores, employees are either hidden or have no idea where anything is located. read more

I am from Texas and I am completely downtrodden by the fact that all our Ace's except contract grade Ace's on the outskirts of town is surviving. I love supporting a good local business. This location in particular has wonderful helpful staff every time I'm in there. That is the reason I wanted to buy a Traeger there. Free assembly and free shipping to your home if you like! And I remembered that during Xmas there was a deal for a free Traeger cover (worth$70-$80!) with each Traeger purchase ! The manager fully honored it for us. Whether we are in there for pellets and other obscure items, there is always a smiling face to help me out. Love that this is our neighborhood hardware store just minutes from our Glendora home!!!!!!! Advice for Gift cards though... since I didn't know what my boyfriend wanted in model of the Traeger I bought Xmas gift cards online. They only allow you to buy in increments of $250 at a time so I have two of them. It was difficult to use these online gift cards in store though bc of the system. Just a warning . Ultimately we bought the Traeger online with the gift cards and had it shipped to the local store for pickup. All good but heads up! read more

RESPONSE TO OWNER RESPONSE: I mentioned in my initial review that someone helped him get it up the ramp. My husband was told the night before that you guys load it up and he told him to be sure to bring straps. Nothing was ever mentioned about not helping strap the grill down. This was not expected nor communicated. The employee helped get it into the truck. There was no chance nor understanding that anything else needed to be requested. If you cannot secure the grill and can only help get it into the vehicle, then that needs to be communicated. That way my husband could've arranged to have the help he needed to strap it down without struggling and being in pain. You are worried about liability for strapping it down but not for loading. Your lack of proper communication and leaving him without even telling him that's why he wasn't going to receive the help he was under the impression he would be is unacceptable. Don't worry, we won't be back and we will inform everyone we know about this as well. Purchased a grill here and had to come back the next day with a truck rental. When we got there we were told to go to the back and we would get help loading it. There were 3 men out working and 1 pushed the grill up the ramp and got it into the truck and then left. No offer for help strapping it down or anything else. Not only were we told we would get help with the loading and securing but my husband is handicapped and made it really difficult to do. Spent quite a bit of money here to be treated that way is ridiculous. Won't return. read more

My daughter and I were on the prowl for hummingbird nectar after recently rescuing Tweety, a gregarious pre-fledging hummingbird attempting flight a day too early. We saved Tweety from the clutches of a cat (his sibling wasn't so lucky), but knew he needed food. And fast! ACE has both the powdered hummingbird nectar and the liquid red concentrate. They do not have the specialized protein meal, but we were preframed that such meal could only be obtained from a wild bird shop. The nectar would get us through the first 24 hours. They had houses and feeders and other bird-related items we made note of as we snagged the nectar and headed back to a famished Tweety, glad to get the nector! Staffers were super easy to approach and there were at least four on the floor able to take customer questions - I've never seen such wonderful staffing! read more

I was greeted immediately by Ange, by the MOST helpful store associate I have ever encountered. She walked me through my options, including the necessary step of using an appropriate primer on the new drywall. She explained the types of Aura paint, their applications and cure times. Ange knows colors! In the blink of an eye, she was able to select the perfect Aura color for a white bathroom and a lovely blue for a guest bath that has a new tiled floor in a blue/gray/ivory pattern. This is a great store in Glendora in a discreet little shopping center. Its the antidote to the zoo that is Home Depot. Sometimes, you just need to get away. It is an especially smart alternative on a weekend when hubs sends me out for a screw or a nail.. Ok that sounded terrible. But you know what I mean. I go to Ace so I don't have to fight the DIY set at Home Depot and Lowes, not to mention their dangerous parking lots! I have also gotten excellent advice in their paint department, which carries the Benjamin Moore brand of hoity-toity paints. Great colors! I have an old Champion spark plug checker (sort of a flashlight that has a magnifying glass as part of it). It uses a small incandescent light bulb (which had burned out). I live close to an orange-colored big box hardware etc. store and went over to buy a replacement. I went directly to the Pro desk, held out the little bulb and asked where I could find one in the store. I was directed about 3/4's of the length of the store to aisle 20 where I asked an employee in an orange Pro work apron about the bulb. "Oh, those are down on aisle 2." was the answer. (Just for reference here, aisle 2 is located almost directly across from the Pro desk.) I went back across the store to aisle 2, once there, another "associate" looked at the bulb and said: "Ah ... we don't carry that ...", and offered to sell a whole new (regular) flashlight. I went home, looked up the closest ACE Hardware (located 8-9 miles away) and called ... the nice woman who answered put me in touch with a young guy who went to the bulb display while I was on the phone with him and who described what they had in stock. His description was perfect, it was the one I needed! But he wanted to make sure before I made the trip over to Glendora so he took a photo of the product and texted it to me! Now that's service ... I'm a just voice on the phone, not a regular customer (I will be now!) and Joseph is taking the time to be sure that I'll get what I need when I get there. I really wish that this was not such an amazing tale of customer service and that all shops and stores were all as thoughtful ... but we all know that's not the case. It IS the case at ACE Hardware in Glendora ... they lived up to the company's slogan with flying colors and a friendly, honestly helpful attitude that deserves all credit. It's (maybe) 6-7 miles further away than the big box by car, but a couple of hundred miles better in service. It's a good-size store, quite well-stocked, and the prices are all very competitive as well. My new hardware go-to store. THANKS! In July she helped my husband and I with the huge sale of the perfect pizza oven and accessories and had it loaded up quickly as we were in a rush.
