They also offer scalp treatments. Beautiful and very clean salon/shop, smelled really nice. Comfortable seating lobby area, digital menu on large view screen plus one on counter. I fell asleep at the end of the massage and was in a chill zone for the facial. My goal was to feel really relaxed and have my skin look rejuvenated. SUCCESS on both, I am so delighted they called back. They are open 7 days a week. I have no complaints in fact it was an excellent service experience. Reasonable prices, discounts for more than one service. Pay in cash or there's a 3% credit card charge; this seems to be the norm at most businesses. The facial included derma-planing/derma-blasion, red light therapy, various serums and creams plus you can opt for sunscreen afterwards. Parking in front or across lot. Convenient location just east and around the corner from the Chevron Station. Again nice personnel, nice newer salon and very calming including soft music with the sound of a water fountain. This is my second time coming to So Relax Spa. I purchased the 60 min back massage with 30 min facial. I remember seeing that my massage started at 1:47pm and then ended at 2:30pm. I was disappointed that the time ended earlier than expected and it felt a little rushed. I asked my masseuse to focus on my left shoulder more but i felt like she barely focused on that area vs when i visited the first time the masseuse took time to massage that area. Also there was a lot of people coming in and out of the business so it was difficult to relax with the background noises. The facial went well and gave a light massage around my face. I like the products that they use. I would come here again but wanted to address that the massage was about 15 mins less than what i was purchased. read more

I came in today with my friends for a one-hour full-body massage. My friends were actually very happy with their massages, but unfortunately, my experience was completely different, and I was very disappointed. The massage therapist who worked on me seemed to be very new. I could tell she was genuinely trying her best and was making an effort to apply pressure, so I don't blame her personally. However, I barely felt any meaningful pressure on my neck and shoulders, which was one of the main areas I wanted to have worked on. She also seemed unable to locate the pressure points correctly. What concerned me even more was that I noticed her watching another therapist to see how they were performing the massage while she was working on me. At that point, it honestly felt like she was still learning and practicing while providing a service to a paying customer. I completely understand that new employees need training, but that training should happen before they are expected to work on customers. Customers should not have to pay to be someone's practice client. I believe the owner has a responsibility to properly train and supervise employees before allowing them to provide services independently. My friends had a good experience, but unfortunately, I came in expecting a professional one-hour massage and did not receive the same level of service. read more

When my wife and I bought our home in 2017, we couldn't have imagined that the empty lot in close proximity to our house would be the future home for a Whole Foods and Barnes & Noble (I'm super excited to have a major bookstore nearby). While driving home one evening, my wife pointed out a new massage establishment directly across from the lot that I mentioned. I immediately did a search for the business, found a menu containing their services, and called to book an appointment for a couple's massage (please note that there is also a location on Elk Grove-Florin, so you have to specify which location). Our appointment was on February 4; which unbeknownst to me, was three days after their grand opening. Upon arrival, a friendly employee (who I believe was the owner) greeted us and inquired about the kind of pressure that we desired and if there were any specific preferred areas of focus (hamstrings and lower back). She then relayed this information to two friendly employees who were waiting for us in the hallway. Before beginning the massage, the masseuse confirmed the preferred amount of pressure and areas of focus. Throughout the experience, the masseuse did a good job of ensuring that the pressure was adequate and that those areas of focus received extra attention (she found it to be hilarious that I giggled as she massaged my hamstrings, don't judge me!). Close to the end of the one hour massage, the masseuse retrieved some pretty hot stones and incorporated them into the service (its actually quite relaxing once you get past the initial shock of the hot stones). At the end of the massage, I felt extremely relaxed and greatly appreciated the cup of water that awaited us at the front desk. I know that this is a new business, so I want to use this as an opportunity to provide some gentle suggestions based on a few observations. One suggestion would be to use a mandatory intake form to inquire if a customer has had any recent injuries, surgeries, or suffers from a chronic condition. Another suggestion would be to have a wall with pictures and names of available masseuses. I plan on incorporating a monthly massage into my self-care regimen, and it would be helpful to have a name and face of a masseuse that I can regularly book services with. I'm writing this review five days after my massage, so there is a chance that both of my suggestions have already been implemented. Came across this location on TikTok! Glad to see it was near me, so definitely had to try. I went in without an appointment, and I suggest you do ahead of time. They were able to squeeze me in for an appointment 45 minutes later after entering. Once checked in, they bring you to the room. I opted in for their 40 minutes full body and 40 min foot massage. Unlike other places where they do the foot and body in separate room, they had it all there in one. You can hear others talk, but they did their best to keep inside voices. My masseuse definitely knew the assignment after she asked place to target. Prices were reasonable too. Making me question if I would like to keep my other massage memberships. My mom wanted to start doing monthly massages ever since I took her to one while on vacation. We didn't want anything fancy but a place that actually pay attention to your needs and which area to focus on. I found this place on yelp (obviously :p), which happened to by down the street from my mom's house. Very convenient as I live 30 mins away but it's worth the drive to take my mom. We came on a weekday at 6pm and were greeted as we walked in. They had an area of complimentary drinks and snacks, which was nice. You do have to pay upfront before the service. Nail places should do also do the same! I believe they just opened since there was a grand opening sign out front. I know they have another location off Elk Grove/florin. We picked the 1 hour package and let me just say, it was such a good experience from customer service to the relaxing ambience. My mom was very happy with her massage as she is particular with what she wants. I was also satisfied with mines. We booked our appt for next month and will continue to go on a monthly. :) I did notice they had the front door lock which is good for safety since it was getting late. For the value, service and convenience, You should also bring cash for tips. It's a nice gestures to give to the masseuse right after. They work hard to earned it. And remember you can speak up on pressure points otherwise they won't know as everyone is different on what they prefer. I highly recommend this place. We booked the 90-minute massage and facial and honestly, everything was perfect from start to finish. The products they used on our skin all smelled really good and felt great, which made the experience even more relaxing. They were very thorough about asking our sensitivity levels and making sure the pressure and products were right for us, which we really appreciated. The lymphatic massage and red light therapy were such nice touches and made it feel like a true spa experience instead of something rushed or basic. It was my first time at this location and first time ever trying scalp therapy. I was able to make an appointment for the following day, despite it being the 4th of July holiday. The price was reasonable for the session and positive experience. I'll definitely return! I scheduled the Pure Relaxation package with Amber, which included a 1-hour full body massage and a 1-hour scalp therapy. I got a call from the spa in the morning saying they were running behind schedule and asked if I could arrive 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment. I didn't mind pushing my appointment out and I appreciated the call in advance. I arrived about 15 minutes early and was able to get into my room shortly after. Amber was amazing! She immediately asked the type of pressure I wanted and what areas I wanted her to focus on. I asked for strong-to-medium and to focus on my back and shoulders mostly, and she delivered! Normally I don't like it when therapists use their elbows because they tend to add too much pressure or they slide into bone, but Amber had full control, consistency, and intention for the exact pressure points. The scalp therapy was a great way to end the session because it was so relaxing! I had never heard of SoRelax until I saw it on TikTok, and I'm so glad I decided to book. I treated myself to The Serene Escape (150 minutes) which includes a 60-minute full body massage, 60-minute scalp treatment, and a 30-minute facial -- and it was truly amazing. I originally booked with May, but she happened to be running a little behind with another client. The staff kindly offered to have another masseuse start my body massage so I wouldn't have to wait, which I really appreciated. Sunny ended up doing my full body massage, and it was honestly one of the best massages I've ever had. She took her time with each area and applied the perfect amount of pressure. I was so relaxed I fell asleep almost immediately, and the hot stones were an incredible bonus. After the massage, I went to May for the scalp treatment and facial. The head wash was unbelievably relaxing -- it honestly reminded me of when my mom used to wash my hair when I was younger. It felt so comforting and healing. She even showed me before-and-after images of my scalp, which was really interesting to see. The facial was wonderful as well: double cleanse, steam, masks, and red light therapy. It felt incredibly thorough and luxurious. I was especially impressed because the entire package was $190, which is what many places charge for a facial alone. Everyone at SoRelax was so kind, welcoming, and accommodating, and they really helped make my birthday feel special. The only downside was that they don't seem very familiar with styling natural curly hair, so my hair ended up a bit poofy and unsettled after the blow dry. So Relax was everything but relaxing. Last night's massage experience at So Relax Massage in Elk Grove off Big Horn and Elk Grove Blvd was extremely disappointing and uncomfortable. I paid for a 90 minute Swedish massage with a full body massage and foot soak and foot massage, and that is not what I received at all. For a large portion of the massage, the therapist only used one hand. At one point she coughed directly into her hand and then continued touching and massaging my back without washing or sanitizing her hands, which was very unhygienic and unsettling. Instead of a proper Swedish massage, she mostly used her elbows to knead my back, which was painful and not what I requested or paid for. She completely skipped the front of my body altogether. There was no full body massage as promised. When it came time for the foot soak and foot massage, my feet were simply wrapped in a lukewarm towel with a plastic bag over them. There was no actual foot soak and no foot massage. She also left the room three separate times, taking time away from the service I paid for, yet was very prompt about ending the session on time. To add insult to injury, she burned my leg with one of the hot rocks, which should never happen in a professional setting. My neck and back are still sore now, which defeats the entire purpose of getting a massage. Overall, this experience felt careless, unprofessional, and nothing like what was advertised. I left feeling frustrated and disappointed, especially considering the amount I paid for a 90 minute service. I would not recommend this place based on my experience... Update: I want to provide an update regarding this experience. I spoke with the manager about what happened, and they did issue a full refund. I was also offered a complimentary massage at half price. While I appreciate the manager addressing the situation and making it right financially, I still felt it was important to share my experience honestly.
