    Vegan pho
    Julia C.

They offer a good variety of vegan options which all kind of taste the same. We ordered the vegan eggrolls which were dripping in oil, but still pretty good, the vegan pho soup, which didn't have much flavor to it, and the noodles were all broken apart, and a vegan noodle stirfry. I would say the noodle stirfry was the best item we ordered and the only item I would re order. The soup and noodles had the same vegetables like broccoli, bok choy, carrots, onions, and included fried tofu. The service was good and food came out pretty quick. It was really hot in the restaurant, but the ambience was nice.

Perfect for lunch on a brisk day. Portions are HUGE and reasonably priced. Flavoring is very good. I liked my chicken curry soup. Clean restaurant that felt very spacious.

Yikes. Would like to be supportive of Soall but the quality control left when the owners moved to the Beverly restaurant. Wonderful concept for an Asian restaurant in Marblehead but it's gone down hill like a rolling stone. Ordered the beef pho with beef on the side and received questionable pieces of "rare" uncooked beef. Showed it to the counter people at check out who told me, "that's how we receive the beef". Really? maybe you nuked frozen beef? The more authoritative of the 2 turned on her heel and walked behind the kitchen curtain. You accept raw beef with brown splotches and sell it to your customers? Great broth - really great broth but horrible beef and service 'tude". Enjoy at risk but enough is enough. This restaurant will fail (like most in Marblehead) eventually because they are absent owners and have school kids running the business. Enjoy! Ambiance is close to dire overlooking a parking lot and high beams shining in your eyes but that's the vibe!

    Grilled Beef & Betel Leaves

Marblehead probably isn't the first place that comes to mind when you decide you want Vietnamese cuisine, but it probably should be. Soall Bistro is delicious. I've been wanting to try them forever, and I found out about them because of their pop-up, Nightshade, which is doing some really innovative cuisine (no, I haven't been, because I always miss them when I'm home). Soall is cute and modern and I like that they have a decent-sized to-go/waiting area as well as a welcoming dining room. The service is fantastic. I forget my server's name but I loved her. For my meal, I started with the shrimp goi cuon (always a favorite of mine) and grilled beef and betel leaves. I then opted for the lunch special, a 1/2 bun bowl with a side of cucumber salad. The goi cuon was super fresh, and I like that you can order just one roll. I have no words to describe the grilled beef and betel leaves. You just have to order it. It is so fragrant and so flavorful. The leaves are slightly crisp and the beef is tender. I don't think I've ever had anything like it. Do not miss this item. As for the bun, I was quite side they didn't offer pork, as bun cha is my go-to. I opted for chicken, as I already had beef and shrimp. I didn't care for the chicken--it was underseasoned and slightly dry. But all the ingredients were fresh, and I kept some of the tamarind sauce from the betel leaves appetizer to add into it, along with the nuoc cham, and that mix worked well. I enjoyed my cucumber and Thai basil salad, which was quite refreshing. I wanted to return to try more on the menu, but did not get a chance during this trip. I'll definitely be back when I visit again and will bring my dad (mainly so he can pay, but also because he needs to try Soall). I'd be a regular if I still lived on the North Shore.

Pho, wishing for some tripe though.

We made reservations just in case online but found that wasn't necessary since there were plenty of tables open. I got to try some of my sister's pad thai basil chicken which was in fact, my favorite that I've had from any place. It was perfectly sweet, spicy, and salty. I liked my Indo fried rice but also felt liked it could have benefited from more of a kick. My mom enjoyed her broccoli Mushrooms beef which could have been better if the sauce was thicker but otherwise the taste was good! To end the meal, we split their Mango Sticky Rice which was the perfect amount of sweetness with some very ripe manngo. Overall, we had a great experience! The staff were beyond kind and more than happy to help. I loved the interior design as well as all the colors and textures which felt very intentional. It's great for either casual or slightly more dressy. Prices are also great for the portions provided. Cannot wait to come again!

Food usually comes out pretty quick and they have lunch specials during the week. Everything I I've had has been really good and I think this has become my go to for Thai food. The reason they lost one star is two part - I don't think their drink prices are as good a value as compared to other options and second, last time we went there were a couple of sub-par chicken pieces in my pad Thai. It hasn't happens any of the other times so I'm not going to fault them terribly for it but will update if it happens again. They're pretty consistent with everything and the service is very friendly here. Definitely recommend this place.

I was given a bag with one container of noodles and broth and meat all together/ there was no sides of typical Thai basil and other Vietnamese accompaniments that come with pho... The broth is flavorless. The noodles as another reviewer pointed out were very very little for the price of the soup and for pho in general. I usually don't go back and change reviews but I can't express how dissatisfied this is. I'm glad I actually checked the bag! I had to ask for another to go container to separate the noddles from the broth ( pho should never be served this way) I had to ask for Thai basil and everything else pho is served with. Unfortunately they are closing this location today and I can see why. This isn't how pho should be and even changing a for here order to a to go doesn't make a difference for the broth, packaging, noodle ration etc

Their vegan fried spring rolls and brussel sprouts are equally impressive, as well. I don't even like brussel sprouts, but I love the ones here. Soall is located on Rantoul Street and metered parking is available out front. The customer service is great and the bistro itself is brand spanking new. For now I'm only doing takeout, but I look forward to dining-in in the near future. YELP'S 2021 REVIEW CHALLENGE: #2

Pork buns: the pork was cooked perfectly and the bun was nice and soft. The sauce went well everything and it's a great starter dish. It has bar seating area and table dining as well. The restaurant is one of the more modern decorated Vietnamese restaurants compared to traditional mom and pop's Vietnamese restaurants that I am used to. I appreciate the vietbamese street scene mural that they have going and I appreciate their effort and attention to detail. For appetizer, we ordered the Vietnamese fish sauce fried chicken wings. It was very good! This is a must! Sadly, they didn't have the betel leaves beef/pork skewer. I will have to come back another time. For entree, I ordered pho while my husband ordered the bun cha Ha Noi, and my kids shared the rice plate with pork chop and fried egg. My pho broth was very clear, and very light in flavor. It was very reminiscent of how my mother would make her pho, very subtle flavors and with wide pho rice noodles. Long's pho I would say is more akin to Northern Vietnamese pho so if you're looking for more salty and fragrant pho, this might not be for you. I love additional pickled vinegar garlic slices that are available at each table as well. I have never seen this at any Vietnamese restaurant in MA. The bun cha Ha Noi, the was good, but I would try something other next time. The rice plate we ordered had pork chops, fried eggs, and what was supposed to be pork skin, however, the pork skin was not up to standard so the owner replaced it with grilled chicken for us. Pork chops were a little over cooked. They are still very new. I think playing some music will help with the kitchen banter. Service was friendly and fast. Food came out at a very good pace. I feel like their drinks and appetizers menu might be the place to start if you're not adventurous. I will definitely be back to try more of their dishes. See my pictures!
