My breathing worsened and my nose looked unnatural. I lived with that outcome for over two years, trying to rationalize it, but I couldn't. This was my face. It affects how I breathe, how I sleep, and how I feel every day. So I did serious research. What I learned changed everything. Rhinoplasty is not just cosmetic. The nose must function. We are meant to breathe through our noses. When the structure is weakened or obstructed, airflow is compromised. Air must move freely when you inhale and exhale. The internal support has to remain stable so the airway does not collapse. Without that support, you mouth breathe, wake up tired, and constantly feel like you're not getting enough air. I experienced all of it. My research led me to Dr. Aaron Kosins in Newport Beach. Because mine was a revision case -- after my nasal bones had been broken in the first surgery -- preservation rhinoplasty was no longer available to me. I had missed the boat. Preservation rhinoplasty reshapes and repositions the natural structures of the nose instead of aggressively "hammering down" the bridge and rebuilding it from scratch. Around 4-5 months post-op, I began noticing significant asymmetry developing. By the time I returned for my follow-up appointment in September, the issue had already become very noticeable. At this point, I developed capsular contracture on my left side, causing the breast to feel hard, tight, and unnatural. On the right side, the implant dropped significantly lower than the left, creating visible asymmetry and uneven nipple positioning. I also experienced poor scar healing around my right areola, with the scar remaining thick, raised, and persistently itchy nearly a year later. To be fair, Dr. Kosins did acknowledge the asymmetry during my September appointment, discussed revision options with me, and his office provided information regarding the Allergan warranty coverage. I understand capsular contracture is a known risk of breast augmentation surgery and not necessarily the result of negligence. After the surgery, she prescribed pain medication (Oxycodone HCl IR 5 mg capsules) for five days. During that time, I had severe constipation and had to go to the ER. On March 3, I went back for a follow-up appointment. During that visit, Dr. Ekstrom also injected hyaluronic acid filler into my labia majora, which cost $1,600. Before the procedure, I asked the doctor if there were any negative side effects and how long the results would last. She told me there were no negative side effects and that the results would last a long time. However, the same day I started feeling something hard, like a small stone. The next day I felt itching and noticed redness. Day by day it became worse. The redness increased, the itching continued, and the area started to look uneven -- the left side looked larger than the right. On March 11, I texted the office manager, Jo Cattell. She was very kind and asked if I wanted to come in that day to see the doctor. I said yes. When I saw Dr. Ekstrom, I first showed her pictures of the redness. She said the pictures looked worse than what she was seeing in person. She also said the redness and swelling might be caused by using an ice pack. However, I do not believe this is the cause. After my labiaplasty surgery, I used ice packs and never had this problem. The symptoms started the same day after the filler injection. I also explained that it hurts when I go to the bathroom. I asked if the filler could be removed, but she told me she could not treat the area right now because it looked like an allergic reaction and that further treatment would cost additional money. She prescribed medication for me to pick up at the pharmacy. I am sharing my full experience because I do not want this to happen to another patient. I work hard for my money, and I do not want to waste it on something that made me feel worse. I do like the results of my labiaplasty, but I do not like the filler injection. It looks uneven and has caused discomfort and illness. If a procedure cannot be done safely, it is better to be honest with patients. People trust their doctors, and I was one of those patients. For fairness, I want to mention that the clinic was very clean. The drive time for me was 1 hour and 40 minutes. Also, two weeks after the surgery I initially left a five-star review. My advice to others is not to write a review until you have had the full experience. Finally, I went to the ER again on March 14, 2026 because my labia majora became worse, with severe itching and swelling. I could not sleep because of the discomfort. I was recommended by a previous physician to see Doctor Park, he was very nice until he received my money. After Doctor Park received my payment he became a complete jerk! I was getting my blood work done for my surgery and my physician said I needed to bring up my iron levels up which Doctor Park did not agree with. Doctor Park is not for patient care at all! Doctor Park was upset that I reschedule my surgery from Jan to Feb and I honestly feel that he does not have a good patient bedside for anyone! Doctor Park has made this whole experience horrible. The comments he makes and the way he treats his patients he should not be practicing. After I had my surgery I have been depressed with the words and excuses he is telling me why he messed up. He told me my left side was messed up due to my scoliosis. I went out and immediately saw an orthopedist who had x-rays done and ruled out I did not have scoliosis.
