The thing I love about this mechanic shop is the straightforward trustworthy behavior of the owners. I have taken my car here several times, had brakes, oil change, and engine servicing. I always felt that Shant took the utmost care in answering my questions, doing great work, and not least, always delivering my car to me so immediately, with so little wait that I somehow felt I was being pushed ahead. But in further observation he just really knows his work and plans it out expertly. WOW. I wish I was the one that went to take my car for the original oil change instead so I could meet the AMAZINGLY NICE AND RESPECTFUL owners! I noticed that strangely I had been losing oil only a month after my oil change (no fault to them - very likely something I did wrong) and they still helped me out and took care of it for me. So my oil cooler and oil filter housing had been leaking a bit of oil for a while and when I realized the leak had increased in pressure I made up my mind to have the gaskets replaced. The first shop I tried wanted $400 for the job so I said to myself "I guess I'll just drive it with a leak." but I decided to give So Cal motors a call. Shant quoted me a much fairer price and knocked a considerable amount off the bill for providing my own gaskets. I was thinking of doing the job myself but the cost of tools would have been almost the same as the price that I was quoted. I have no doubt Shant gave me the best price out of any mechanic in the whole area. He was really polite and courteous, and promised he could get the job done by the end of the day. Well I was pleasantly surprised when he gave me a call one hour earlier than he said it would be finished. I can tell this guy is serious about his work because he got it done fast and did a great job. He cleaned up the oil around the cylinder head and the oil cooler and the car has been running perfectly since. He also called me before finishing to tell me he added some oil and replaced my oil filter (wise thinking on his part). When it came time to settle the bill, Shant didn't even charge me for the oil filter. There are luxury cars and classics in the garage there, they do a lot of different auto repairs. But I saw an ad for very inexpensive A/C service for my Toyota Camry, called them to verify they were still doing it, and they said sure thing, bring it in same day. They explained what was going on, recharged the A/C, and I can't imagine a better price. Also I told them what another mechanic told me I needed - a front right engine mount - and he said he could do it for a better price, so he made a call, ordered a part, and did right away! They had appointments available the next day when I called about my Groupon for an oil change and tire rotation, and I was on my way 20 minutes after arriving. I've had a couple of negative experiences using deal vouchers for auto service, but it's obvious these guys have real integrity, and they didn't even charge me any disposal fees for my used oil. When I mentioned that I was planning a road-trip in my (older) car and asked if they was anything I should worry about, they made a point of telling me they didn't want to push me into any unnecessary repairs and reassured me that everything looked safe.
