I had my semi-annual cleaning and check up today and just had to do another review. I've been going to SoCal Dentistry for 2 years now and would definitely rate them A++. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I usually see Dr Ryan Toledo and have found him to be the best dentist I've ever seen. Very friendly, very knowledgeable and always remembers me even though he only sees me a couple times a year.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I couldn't ask for a better dentist. I was absolutely shocked by some of the negative reviews on here. I think they must have gone to a different Dr Ryan Toledo, either that or they are Karens. I've recommended this family dentistry to everyone I encounter and I am very picky. Just remember, there are two sides to every story except my side is the only one that's correct. I've also seen Dr Marcelo Toledo in one of my first visits because I had to have them replace a crown that a corporate dentistry office completely botched. There were some challenges with the crown but they did whatever it took to make it fit perfectly even though I doubt they made any money because of my multiple visits. They stand by their work 100% and everyone I've encountered there has been friendly, professional and extremely helpful. Even better, they don't try to sell you on a procedure you don't need unlike the corporate dentistry offices. read more

I am writing this review to share a very disappointing and unprofessional experience my wife had at your dental clinic. She went in for a routine cleaning, and during the procedure, the doctor administered three injections. After the third injection, she was in significant pain. Instead of showing care or concern, the doctor raised his voice and told her that she should not make any sounds of pain while he was working. He also stated that everything he would be working on that day was "supposed to hurt," which is completely unacceptable and alarming behavior from a medical professional. My wife continued to experience severe pain during the procedure, and when she asked to stop because she could still feel everything, the doctor became visibly upset and spoke to her in a very disrespectful and unprofessional manner. This is not how any patient should be treated, especially in a healthcare setting where compassion and patient comfort should be a priority. [[HIGHLIGHT]]After the visit, we contacted the clinic to file a complaint, expecting at the very least an apology. Worst dentist ever. Misdiagnosed me, then drilled into the wrong tooth without my authorization. The pan didn't subside, then wouldn't take me back in to fix the issue they caused. It took me 4 months to find someone else to recheck there misdiagnosis and now I have 2 problems my insurance is having issues addressing because they not only diagnosed the wrong tooth but wouldn't even fix their own problem. First off these people will not take any responsibility when they mess up. Run don't walk away from this place. Dr Ryan is super unprofessional and rude he rather let your tooth rot out so he can pull it then fix it and if you have any kind of anxiety or cry a little, he'll tell you to stop whining and throw his hands up and tell you to shut up and stop crying. I went in for a cracked tooth back in November. He ended up filing down my enamel, so thin mind you enamel does not grow back and he started prepping for crowns when I went in for a simple Tooth Repair Instead, he started aggressively filing down my teeth, making them super uneven and rigid. He left random fillings all over my mouth didn't fill them down to make them smooth. They were cutting the inside of my lip. I was bleeding under my lips from my teeth being so rigid and rough. , he left me with a bite From the bridge, where my bottom teeth were hitting the top, I was unable to talk or close my mouth properly when I went back to get it adjusted he was super annoyed, unable to close my mouth, throwing up his hands and walking out of the room Shaking his head muttering it's too thin. It's too thin ignoring me and my questions and left me in my confusion and that was it with that. His demeanor totally changed when I reminded him I was on Medi-Cal. I told him I was trying to save money to get an implant tooth. There was no plan for me to get crowns. I was not aware that's what he was doing. Be careful because they do what they wanna do here and if you're on Medi-Cal, they treat you horribly. They will make sure that instead of fixing your problem they'll wait just to get your teeth extracted rather than help you because they are lazy. He totally ignored my six-year-old's teeth over the years, telling me that their kids teeth they'll fall out and it doesn't really matter when I finally change Dentist due to the disrespect come to find out my kidney two extra extractions, a brace and a few cavities filled. Now he has to wear his brace until he's 12 . Th[[HIGHLIGHT]]is place is really rude in the Dr. Ryan doesn't like children or working on them. W[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]hen I went in to get a tooth pulled because he didn't want to fix it or didn't even try to look into getting it fixed he'd rather just let her rot and say it was easier to pull it. I had a huge infection. He[[HIGHLIGHT]] stopped working midway because I was crying and had to get Dr. Toledo to get involved. Dr. Ryan made me feel very uncomfortable. I[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]t seems when Dentist messes up or make a mistake. They do not want to fix it. They don't take any responsibility. I finally went to a new dentist, which is awesome and treats me with love, kindness and respect as a Dentist should I ended up having 14 cavities that was ignored by Dr. Ryan's and I got them filled and also now unfortunately I am forced to get crowns or maybe even implants because of the neglect and incompetence of so-cal dentistry. No[[HIGHLIGHT]]t to mention the stuff really rude when I was requesting my paperwork and x-rays it took over 30 days to receive it. Very rude. Dr. Ryan began making very unprofessional and rude comments to me after i told him no to anesthesia. Beginning of appointment i was told i didn't need it, ok no problem. He said "This isn't a playground, stop acting like a child." He kept going on and on making rude comments while working on my teeth. I wanted to like this place but in all honesty was shocked I would not recommend this dentist he was not professional as he endangered my safety and wasted my time not to mention was not compassionate at all in my emergency situation. A filling was cracked and fell out due to biting into something hard while eating food and I needed a replacement filling. Marcelo Toledo did not properly clean my tooth sight at all of debris or disinfecting of any bacteria before he decided to place a temporary filling with instruments that I did not see them open in front of me, blood borne pathogens yikes!!! My X-rays showed no infection as he confirmed and said we will fill the the tooth on insurance approval if I didn't have pain, which I didn't. I stated to him I would like to save my tooth as I was not experiencing any pain prior to or at time of my visit with him. He said the chance of saving my tooth was 50/50. After he placed the denti- temp into my tooth he stated if I end up with any pain later, " We will see, don't hesitate to call his office" and " They will see me". As if He knew that I would be experiencing pain later. 6 hours later I began to experience throbbing pain I called his office the following day and asked if he could remove the temporary filling and clean the tooth out of any possible bacteria and debris because it wasn't done before he placed the temporary filling. He stated there was nothing he could do for me and stated I would need to wait 4-6 more weeks for approval of a root canal and crown. I questioned Why would you recommend a root canal and kill a perfectly good tooth and cap it, after you stated it looked good and my x-rays showed no infection?! The open hole where my filling fell out wasn't even in the pulp of my tooth so to kill the root made no sense to me as my x-rays proved!! Perhaps he wanted to fraudulently bill my insurance for an unnecessary root canal and crown. I had waited a month for this initial appointment now he wanted me to wait 4-6 more weeks for approval from my insurance on a root canal for a tooth that had no infection only filling fell out due to biting into something hard. His front office secretary told me that he will not be able to accommodate me further as a patient after I questioned him, was I in the twilight zone!?? WTH is going on here! She recommended a colleague of his afterwards. Absolutely Not! Why would I want to see a recommendation of his after his unsafe bad practices?! I was horrified Marcelo Toledo was unprofessional violated osha regulations and his behaviour unprofessional from this dentist. A waist of my time. All I wanted was to save my tooth, receive safe and proper dental care and asked you questions about my tooth. Wow! I'm sure he will say this is a lie and claim that it can't be discussed openly due to HIPPA regulations. Toledo dangerously exposed me to a possible infection when he did not properly clean out the tooth before placing anything in the tooth with instruments that were not freshly opened in front of me who knows if they were even properly cleaned, autoclaved??!! He treated me like less than human in his multitude of patients that he sees I guess I was that unlucky number that day or maybe this is customary for him to treat denti- cal patients this way. How dare I as a naive uneducated patient to ask him in all his infallible excellency to remove a temporary filling he placed and caused pain! Don't be afraid to ask questions after all it's your life your teeth! I may now have an infection when there wasn't one in the first place! if I could vote No stars I would!! read more

Part time PS resident living near the SoCal office. A crown fell off on a Sunday night and called on Monday morning to see if I could get an appointment as a new patient.
