It was easy to find and drive in and find parking on a Friday afternoon, even though there were…read moreother people there. It's not immediately clear where to go and what to do but they have plenty of staff to direct you. They asked me to empty my different types of bottles (clear glass, colorful glass, plastic) into three large cylindrical barrels before they weighed them. I can see what other reviewers are saying about how they don't fully put the container on the scale to ascertain the full weight of the bottles. They hand you a receipt after weighing and you take it to the window to cash out. They ask you to sign the receipt before giving you the money. All in all, it's an easy process and I'm not sure it's worth the trouble because I don't have that much to recycle at a time but it might make sense for the people sorting pickup trucks' worth of recycling. Pro tip: Sort your recycling in advance so when you get to the recycle center, you just have to dump it into one of the barrels and not sort it on site.

Really the state of California should make the businesses who charge the 5¢ recycling fee do a redemption service to give you the fees back. Technician quickly removed drives and after paying nominal fee, walked me over the the machine to watch the drives get demolished. They took the machines for recycling or waste. The space is large and airy so it doesn't smell like moldy beer cans. I'm usually in and out fairly quickly depending on how much I have to cash in. They accept glass, plastic bottles, cans, aluminum, and metal (plus other things I don't remember!) I've also starting bringing in empty laundry detergent bottles, body lotion bottles, shampoo/conditioner/body wash bottles, liquid hand soap...basically I turn over almost anything these days looking for that triangular arrows symbol! They don't take newspaper or cardboard, however. As with most recycling centers, you obviously need a LOT of items to walk away with even a few dollars so don't expect to have this be your get-rich-quick kinda scheme! So save up for a while and you just might have enough for some dranks from GiGi's.

Our plumber brought his apprentice over who knew there are 3 different price levels. Pure copper pipe. The parts that connect that have solder. And the brass parts Upon arriving we thought there would be an entrance in the back alley. Nope. Customers unload in front on San Fernando Rd. An attendant will give you garbage containers to haul metal in. We had 3 types so 3 bins. When the man at the weigh station put the copper on I was watching the screen and took a photo. (Our plumbers apprentice had warned us about this place and said the best price was in Simi or Sunland...too far and too long for our meager amount) Then he weighed the other two while we were talking with another staff member. (Shouldn't have been distracted while conducting business) The guy at the scale shows us the total and I realize the Copper 1 was now much lighter than the original weight! I showed him the photo on my phone and he corrected it! In hindsight I should have had all 3 weighed again. But we were tired, dirty and the whole process pretty depressing and I didn't want to make a huge deal out of it. So consumer beware!
