Do not shop here! I was standing outside on the street, not even the sidewalk, in front of this store and the owner (Karen) came out and told me I couldn't smoke in front of her store. I was well beyond the required 10 ft and when I refused to move Karen called the Newburg Police. Two police cars showed up because I was leaning against my car smoking on the street. The Police were unable to take any actual action because I wasn't breaking any laws. This business and that woman are ridiculous don't shop here unless you enjoy supporting authoritarian babies. read more

Honestly, I am just plain confused. This place is okay for beer, but has random merchandise around and a kids area upstairs. They used to be a grocery store and are now some kind of combination of store and brew pub. The name is misleading... are they serving socially conscience brands of beer and/or merchandise? Food is average at best and place does not appear to be clean. read more

This is an amazing business. One star off because the food wasn't great (not terrible just not five-star worthy) but the location is fantastic and the play area for kids is really a hit. After seeing some more changes, Social Goods is finally making sense to me. They have a huge space inside for seating and plenty of options. Grab a coffee on the cafe side and a brew on one of their many taps. Seriously cannot explain to you how many options there seem to be. I also love that they are keeping the harsh white lights shut off and are using the projector for free movie nights for the family or to watch big sporting events. Social Goods is THE stop on First Fridays in Newberg. Everyone is there and it is a ton of fun. Really happy they are creating a fun, family, gathering place in the heart if Newberg. read more

We took a drive to Newburg for the day as we were dying to eat in an actual restaurant and Portland has not opened up yet, and I am so happy we ended up at Social Goods. Robin and Danny were lovely and hospitable. The beer selection was diverse, with a mix of well-known breweries and local gems, and the owners were happy to let us sample to find something delightful. I discovered Social Goods during the pandemic when takeaway was the only option in town. Social Goods offers a delicious menu and the food is excellent every time I've ordered! All the ingredients have been very fresh and tasty. My absolute favorite is the caprese salad - it's heavenly!!! I highly recommend you try ordering from this place! read more

Back from a day trip to visit the Guadalupe Abbey in Carlton with my sister who was visiting the States, we stopped in Newberg to grab a bite. We entered the store to get some info on local restaurants, hoping for a recommendation. Robin, the owner and manager of Social Goods, was so helpful and kind to us that we bought some imported German beer before going to lunch and continuing on our way. Robin is also a very generous, spontaneous person, for she gave us a bottle of another type of German beer she had just got in the store. I will be back, no doubt, on our next trip to Newberg. This is the kind of place that makes one instantly feel better about the human race--and we all need that, now more than ever. read more

Where does one start when attempting to describe Social Goods? We initially discovered this place when we needed to store wine, which is both a great deal and super-convenient. Not only do they have a well-curated selection of cheese, cured meats and accouterments but their selection of wine and beer is top-notch! What an amazing place! I absolutely love the concept! I stumbled upon Social Goods, during the windstorm, when the phone lines and power were out. I was having the worst morning ever. I went in just to see if I could possibly find a cup of coffee. I was greeted by the sweetest lady ever, and not only did they have coffee, but an inflatable bounce house, for my three year old to bounce on! We ended up silencing a couple of hours there, bought some cool toys from their wonderful toy shop, ate delicious cookies, and chatted with the owner! I am so excited for this place! The upstairs has a great selection of incredibly fair priced quality kids toys and they also just added an art supply section. I absolutely love coming here! They have a great selection of local specialty items and food there is always something new to try. Toy store is upstairs and they also teach martial arts so I can drink a beer and watch my kid practice. Have a mimosa or coffee and chill at a table and play a board game. read more
