Nov 29: Letter from Medicare Part B (Social Security coordination) that my next check will be $400 plus short because problem with ss clerk not putting in right 'beginning date' of January 1 (she put in October instead). Med. B is charging me for 2 months medical coverage that was not authorized. Tsk, tsk. Letters going to both the Roseville and East Coast Area Med. B area. Good grief!!!!!! I was very upset with the phone service I received. I called about a replacement card as I was having issues and wanted to be directed to solve this. The lady on the phone was short and cut me off and talked to me as if I was a child. After waiting on hold and getting this service I was very disappointed and wouldn't expect much help from here, even though you can't go in, the phone service is terrible. The 1000 year old security guard N Lirma, was completely unprofessional, rude, and a control freak. Stepped out of the building to take a very important phone call close to the building closing (at noon) had ticket in hand and had been waiting 45 min already. Attempt to go back into the building and I knock on the glass, he has the audacity to knock back. I knock again, and when a couple leave the building I inform him I have already checked in and have my ticket, he said it doesn't matter we're closed, and close the door in my face. I go back and confront him ask him for his managers name and he refuses to give it to me. Will be filing a formal complaint against him tomorrow. read more

This is the most MISMANAGED organization, I've ever seen. First they gave me a aka "telephone interview", which they NEVER phoned. Second, I received a letter TWO days later stating "I'd missed my office appointment. And third as a TAX PAYING AMERICAN VETERAN, I was told to literally "GET LOST"! They must have cleaned up their act, or the people who wrote bad reviews were having a bad day! Parking is easy, the guard was very nice, and everyone was friendly. You go to the first counter (signs are clear and straightforward) and get a ticket from a machine. Then you sit (no crowding, all decent behavior, cleaner than expected) and they call your name - with a smile! The woman who helped me, Stephanie, was very kind and calm, and gave me all the time I needed for my questions. When she had to check on something, Ashley stepped in and was equally nice. Mind you, it sometimes takes a long time, but there are a lot of people there, and I have heard them with attitudes towards the workers there. Not cool. After waiting an hour and then finding out I didn't have the right documentation... My fault completely. I was trying to gather up all my important information I had a passport and several of my kids birth certificates in a folder. Looking through all the paperwork at the window with the lady I was trying to fit it back in my envelope to make sure I had everything and she called the next person up before I could even put my stuff away... Then she says sorry I have to move on to the next person we're very busy. I don't know why they have to be so rude at places like this is it in the job description. I went to the Social Security office today and the service was very good. I didn't have an appointment and was out in a little over an hour. The guards were friendly and smiling. The guy who helped my was AWESOME! He really wanted to help me and he did! Overall it was as good an experience as I could have hoped for. Throughout the years, I've had to go to this office 4 or 5 times and have always received professional service. So when I went there last Friday I expected the same. The guard at the door checked my purse then directed me to the self check in. No line no problem. I waited for them to call my number. When I heard my name called I looked up and saw a lady standing at the door laterally barring the way as though I would force my way to the inner sanctum. Anyway, her name is Millie and why she is working in any customer service capacity is beyond me. She could not have been more rude and completely unprofessional. Just shut me down and any hope I had of getting assistance that day. I was so shocked to be treated in that manner, I asked for her name. She would not give me her last name. But she gave me the full name of her supervisor as Robert Gomez. I just walked out quite stunned. I hope her supe sees this and reminds her of the cs skills she learned in traing. read more

This was the most quick and efficient Social Security office I have ever been to. My dad had just went to another Social Security office last week and had a 2 hour wait. He accompanied me to this one and we both anticipated a lengthy stay so stocked up on puzzle books. From the time we entered to the time we were finished was a total of 5 minutes. My wait slip said 1:23 and we left at 1:28 to the amazement of my dad lol. The officer was friendly, checked our bags, and told us to go to window 11. Window 11 is a computer where you input what you need and get a wait slip. We barely sat down before we were called. The teller was also pleasant and the process was super easy so we were both happy about that. read more

A family member was given directions to an appointment for disability assessment that were completely wrong. When I mentioned it to the receptionist at her appointment I was told that the correct directions have been given over and over again. This office continues to mislead clients. They are probably hoping to discourage people from following through. Additionally, she was given an incorrect address for an important form to be filled out. And this form had a deadline. When I called her worker three times in a week, he never bothered to return my calls. But after speaking to his supervisor, he called and I was given the correct address for the form. Shady? I have been here 8 times, and it is a typical worthless, disrespectful waste of your time. It took me 8 visits to sign up for Social Security, including 5 visits to correct their mistakes! As others have mentioned, the security guard(s) are also A holes. As a "heads up" SOMETIMES you can get there at about 8:30 or earlier (to wait in line out front) and actually wait only 30-45 minutes inside, but don't count on it. read more

Came here to replace a lost social security card. I almost went to the Folsom office instead after reading the bad reviews on here, but since that was twice the distance for me I decided to chance it and thank goodness I did. When you arrive there is a security guard waiting at the door to check your bag and make sure you are at the correct office location based on your city of residence ( which I didn't realize made a difference but it does so you may want to check ahead of time that you are at the correct office for your residence!). He asked my purpose for being there and then directed me to a machine where I punched in my SSI number to check in and get a number. The office looked busy like a DMV office, but there were multiple windows and I only waited about 20 minutes before my number was called. The man at the window was courteous and helpful and I was done in about 10 minutes. I was prepared ahead of time downloading and filling out the appropriate forms online and making sure I had the correct forms of ID, so that made it easier. Overall, very organized. I was pleasantly surprised, esp. after reading the negative reviews. read more

I called and spoke with a lady who was completely rude to me. Telling me what somebody at the folsom location told me was a lie. When I asked to speak with a supervisor she insisted on giving me a number to the ssi corporation. I then told her no I just wanted to be transferred to a supervisor but she then told be to have a nice day and hung up. I then called back and spoke with a woman name mona in unit 15. She then called me a liar saying the last person I talked to did not hang up on me and that their systems are down right now so they can't tell me who I last spoke with. So after trying to speak with a supervisor she put me on hold and then told me a supervisor would be calling me back but he can't give me a time after trying to see if she could help me she got rude. So I hung up she then called back just to tell me she's telling the supervisor I hung up on her still not trying to help me and my situation! I've never been treated ssi rudely ever and to be hung up on and called a liar. This is suppose to be a place to help people completely and instead I felt disrespected and ignored. read more

The Guards Are Always Friendly And Helpful, As Are The Employees There.
