Their hours need to be updated. I arrived at 4:27 and was told they were closed. I said their posted hours had 5pm as closing. The gal working said they've changed it to 4:30. I said oh good! It's not 4:30. Lol. She turned me away as well as another customer. I'm really disappointed with this place. When they first opened I was a big fan and recommended them to everyone. Worst customer experience years. I tried to order a custom cake drove 25 minutes to speak to somebody about making a Lego brick cake for birthday. I was told cannot do it in person. I had to go home go online fill in a form and wait 24 hours for somebody to email back. I did that sent a picture of a Lego brick wanted something similar cream cake pretty basic came back and said we can't do square cake but we could do a round cake. I responded back. OK great let's do a round cake two days later no answer. I had to call the store to find out what was going on. They said someone get back with me. I got an email moments later saying we can't with cake now. Go somewhere else. don't waste your time with this place. You deserve better. read more

Stopped by for sweet treat. I feel like I have heard really good things from a few Dallas native friends, but I can't really say the same. I ordered the champagne and the red velvet cupcake. I asked if the red velvet had cream cheese frosting and the cashier said yes, the cupcake has just regular sugar icing. Both cupcakes honestly just taste like sugar. I usually go across the street to Leila's Bakery, but I was craving cookies and I saw Society had a good selection. I figured I'd mix it up, and try a new place. I'm not one to write disparaging reviews, but the lady working the counter actually made me feel like she thought I wasn't good enough to shop there.. she was not friendly at all, and i felt she was snubbing me, and making an unfair assumption of me as a person. I asked if they did High Tea, and she seemed really rude in the way she spoke to me- not even finding it worth her time to answer my question w much regard. Whatevs. I didn't feel welcome there, so I'll just continue going to Corner Market and Leila's. I live down the street, so perhaps you guys could be more friendly to your neighbors. For the record, I did spend over $20 on a couple of cookies and some chicken salad- so it's not like I was just inside taking up space. I sent a photo and descriptions of a cake I wanted and they would not remake the writing even though I was very disappointed with it and it was clearly supposed to be cursive. Society Bakery Tea Room was absolutely amazing! From the adorable French decor, I felt like I had walked into a cafe in Paris, to Top Tier customer service, great atmosphere. I was there for Easter brunch with my Grandma and it didn't miss! A hidden gem. The food was so delicious! 10/out of 10! Our waiter and the manager were so sweet. They kept checking on us and were so attentive and brought us 2 Easter cookies from the bakery. The Tea time was really good and they even provided an hour glass to time the steeping of the tea and when it's ready to drink. I haven't had the High Tea there yet but I'll definitely come back to experience it! The chef even came out and provided us their delicious Croissant Bread Pudding topped with Vanilla Ice Cream, ya'll Sooooo good! Please check out this gem! Such a great and wonderful experience. This is my favorite bakery in Dallas! I started coming around 15 years ago. Moving to two different states over the years never stopped me from picking up a cupcake or two on my visits to Dallas. The decor is so cute and love that they've add a patio space with tables and chairs. I've also enjoyed the service I've received when going in. They are always thoughtful and friendly. Today's visit consisted of my picking up 4 cupcakes. There are also a variety of cookies and other desserts that can be purchased. They looked great as usual but I was on a mission for what takes me to my happy place. I ordered one of the following- pink champagne, strawberry, german chocolate, and vanilla. There's a reason this place is consistently ranked the best bakery in Dallas (Dallas Observer and Voted Top 10 Cupcakes in America by AOL and the Ellen DeGeneres Show, plus so many other places). They were also featured on the Food Network Channel on the show Dallas Cakes. I walked in to try and get a last minute cake, but they only had ONE available as the few ready-made cakes had already been claimed. It was a very small plain white 6-inch cake and they were only able to write on it with icing, no other customizations for a whopping $40! Totally overpriced so I went for their cupcakes instead and tried Oreo, Red Velvet, Salted Caramel, and Funfetti. Cupcakes are $4.00 each, large in size, and totally worth it!! Everyone loved the cupcakes! The cake it self was pure perfection that I didn't hear a single complaint for my friends as we tried all four of them together. I asked how long it takes to make a custom cake and was told they needed ONE WEEK NOTICE. But on their website, it says they need THREE WEEKS NOTICE. That's insane! But they're definitely very busy and have tons of orders to fill. I went right when they opened on Saturday Morning and again, they only had that one plain cake available for me to walk out with so definitely PRE-ORDER if you need a cake. The place is very beautiful and pretty inside (and outside!) It's located off Greenville Ave and parking is sparse but they have two reserved spots in front of their store. It's first come first serve, but you can call and give payment over the phone to reserve if you're really desperate. read more

I got my sister in laws baby shower cake, my baby shower cake, my husbands birthday cake and my daughters 1st birthday cake from Society Bakery... I just love their Vanilla Salted Caramel and Pink Champagne flavors!!! The staff is so nice and professional and the decorators listen to the customer and deliver! It's 2:30pm on this Monday - cool, parking in front - no line inside - been ages - very cute exterior - hmmm, austere is the interior - excited of the treat! Unfortunately, service was LAME - only one other customer and she was done buying, was shooting breeze to person behind counter - another cashier actually walked away rather than helping the other! Would have walked out - but, there it was: their Bread Pudding Whoopie Pie - can't turn back then - finally - decided to buy two, $9.00 total - whoa! Well yes! - sometimes "good things does come in small packages" - HEAVENLY SWEET TREAT IT WAS - with a cup of coffee, 1/2 of one was more than enough in satisfying my craving - aggravation of service subsided - all's good! My husband and I placed an order for a gender reveal cake. I went in to pick up and was showed the cake and then the girl stated "and it says it's a boy inside." At that point, I pretty much spaced/wanted to cry. I didn't say anything and left. My husband emailed the bakery to notify them of what happened and more as an educational moment for the team. No response whatsoever. The cake was nice and tasted good but it's pretty disappointing when you clearly state gender reveal and you are revealed the gender before you are even home. Word to anyone considering this bakery, make it WELL known in advance to notify everyone that you DO NOT want to know the gender in advance.
