I asked them to watch my cat while I was out of town for a week or two. I also own a dog but I took him with me. When I came home, my cat's food bowl was filled with dog food and she was starving. When they did the visit before I left, I showed them where the cat food was. It was in a bin that is clearly labeled "cat" in large letters. The worst part was that they 1. did not apologies 2. did not ask me how my cat was doing (she could have been dead!) 3. blamed me (said that the labels were not clear) and 4. did not offer a refund or discount. I felt like I deserved a refund (at least partially) for them failing to taking care of my cat properly. Note: This happened more than a year ago. I am immensely grateful to the Society Pet Sitter company. First, The two girls who were going to take care of our cats, came to interview with us ahead of our departing day. That was important to us. They took notes about our 3 cats, their personalities and habits and even thought I had filled out a questionnaire for the company, by being here, I was able to show them where the supplies were and I felt confident about their ability to take care of my furry children. Then we left for 10 days. Everyday one of the girls came at the time they said they would come. They wore a mask and there were no issues with the alarms, keys, or anything else. After giving them some of the treats I left for them, they sent me an email and a picture of my cats every time they came.!Then they fed them and made sure they had water. They cleaned the litter boxes and I'm sure a couple of "accidents". Yesterday we came back, and the cats were happy and healthy. The house was clean and no litter box smell, or sand trails. If your animals are family and you want the peace of mind of knowing they will be taken care of with TLC and professionalism, the SocietyPet Sitter is the company to contact. Their service is outstanding and I was amazed at their low fees. What they do for animals and their parents is priceless. I'm so glad I found this place. I moved to TX about 3 yrs ago and came to the conclusion, I was not able to travel after 3 different pet sitter disasters. Unfortunately, medical emergency forced my husband and I to leave the state for a few days. The friend we've been having check in on the kitties, when we leave for a night, was just crazy busy. If you're searching for the best pet sitter in Dallas, look no further. I just moved from Boston, MA to Uptown with my boyfriend and our beloved cat-child, Princess --- she's a completely indoor kitty with door-hanging and (attempted) door-darting tendencies, so my criteria for a caretaker is very specific. Most of the reviews for sitting companies down here were filled with lots of comments about dog sitting/walking but until I came across Society's Yelp page, I had not seen anyone with cat commendations. I reached out to Society immediately after scouring this site and Facebook. I believe I got a reply within the hour, but definitely the same-day! The office staff is responsive, kind, welcoming and overall, just great. Their online scheduling and billing is helpful and convenient. Society set up a meet and greet for us with our assigned sitter and a back-up, for schedule conflicts or other issues. All of this was a fantastic start but what really wowed us was our assigned sitter and how she handled my crazy-cat-mom requests while we were away. Priscilla is an incredible and loving caretaker. I gave her an insane amount of detail and bizarre instructions in our initial meeting. She repeated and noted all of my requests in her notepad, so I immediately felt confident in her level of service. Her superstardom became obvious when we had to leave Princess for 6 nights in January. We were advised of work being done to the exterior of our building just a day before we left, and while we were gone. I was a wreck, but Priscilla sent pictures, videos, information about the work and any workers near our unit. As requested, she'd let me know she waited until the garage door completely closed before she left because we have an issue with it "bouncing" or getting almost all the way to the bottom and then opening again. She brought some packages that were delivered while we were away, inside, without me asking. She would always let me know that Princess stayed upstairs and was playing with a mouse-toy when she left and locked up. After each visit, I felt so much better knowing that Prin was doing well and that Priscilla had been so diligent to keep her away from the doors/outside and also to secure our home. We have a couple baby-cam's set up so we can log in to see how Princess is doing when she's got large gaps between visits and one night, we heard a horrible noise. Turns out, the security alarm was beeping loudly -- for no apparent reason. I texted Priscilla in the morning and asked if she could stop by, unplanned and as soon as possible. She made it to the apartment in just a couple of hours and was able to disable the alarm box and sound. Priscilla truly went above and beyond. After that day and because we were gone so long, I actually scheduled Priscilla to do daily visits for the remainder of our trip. Priscilla and Society care for my cat like she's their own and I really cannot thank them for the peace of mind I have knowing I can leave and have responsibly, caring and extraordinary caretakers available to me. Two wonderful experiences with their cat sitting service. We met Fred back in August and decided immediately that he was the guy to check in on our 10-year-old Bengal cat, Wesley, whenever we headed out of town. He's just so darn nice and good at what he does. A true animal lover! Wesley only got to hang out for a bit with Fred on two out of town occasions - we've since moved - but I'm sure he had a great time. We adored Fred's photo texts and little messages about what he did with Wesley during his visit - brushed him, played with him, fed him, scooped his litter, etc. We felt completely at ease and comfortable with Fred coming into our home while we were away and caring for our cat. I have used this service for 2 years and I would not dream of going elsewhere. My large dog is a rescue and he gets very anxious with strangers. When he hit it off with his sitter, Marci, at the initial interview I knew that I had found the right company. When I go out of town I know that my dog is safe and that my house is safe. They get my mail and alternate the lights in my house so that it does not look as though I am away. Also, the office staff are nice and professional, and the scheduling system is super easy. Its obvious that these folks have years of experience with animals, and that they really care about my dog as part of my family. I highly recommend this company to anyone who has pets. read more

I finally found the trust I so much wanted in a pet sitter. To find someone that will look after your babies like you would, is rare to find. I have used their services twice now and the very first time I booked them, I was unbearable. They were very cooperative and they texted me updates and sent me pictures for every visit. I had a very negative first impression of this business as I had reached out to Christi at the beginning of July 2017. I filled out the extensive paperwork and rec'd a call from Christi on 7/22 to go over questions. My vacay dates were set for August 2017. Christi stated she would call me back as changes would need to be made based on what my requests were for my cats. Never heard back from Christi, called business on 7/25 spoke with Tiffany, never gave me her last name. She explained that if I wanted more time than .30 minutes I would need to pay for an hour which was very expensive. She stated it was listed on her website, one hour charges are NOT LISTED. Tiffany had a poor attitude as I requested 3 references from her and stated that this was the first time in 20 years that a client requested them. I'm sorry, but I can't get hired without references, so she just had this attitude that I should take it for granted that they are GREAT at what they do. Tiffany then stated I would be charged for watering my plants. This is also not listed on their website. I stated that Christi was my POC early July and all of THESE CHARGES SHOULD HAVE BEEN STATED UPFRONT. Tiffany was pretty condescending with me on the phone, and I stated I would assess their services upon reference check. Call ended. Five minutes later, my gut instinct was to cancel so I called to cancel and cancel my CC information. Terrible first impression of this business by both Christi, and Tiffany (owner), If anyone hires them for their pets, make sure you get all CHARGES UPFRONT and request an inhome interview visit LONG BEFORE YOU NEED TO LEAVE TOWN. Terrible customer service, never recommend or refer. Got a new sitter where all charges were upfront and proper, consistent communication was maintained by the petsitter business and myself. They clearly don't know how to communicate well, and they lack customer first attitude in resolving any issues. Terrible service, terrible impression. They saved our diabetic dog's life when we were in French Polynesia last week by recognizing the signs of low blood sugar, administering urgent aid & getting him to an emergency vet on a Sunday! Their calm and quick thinking saved our puppy & we are on our way home with him after a vet check. They collected our mail, watered our outdoor plants & flowers and met all our requirements to the absolute letter. We got daily reports & pictures. I have finally found a competent pet sitter! I have an older full bred female Maine Coon who requires medication 2X daily and subq fluids 3X week and she is a diva. I was previously unable to go on any trips for longer than 2 days because I could not find anyone who could handle her & the medications and fluids. From initial visit I was so impressed with the assigned sitter and her backup! That's right, there is a qualified back-up sitter as well. I LOVE the sitter and back up assigned. I have been using Society Pet Sitter for walking my two black lab/border collie mixes for just under a year and I'm already booked until the middle of next month and that will put me over a year's worth of service with more to come. Last July 2014 I had a fall off a step stool in my apartment. I had to go to the hospital and have surgery on my fractured right elbow. While in the hospital, I had to board my dogs at my veterinarian's. My brother asked the staff if they knew of a dog walking service and they highly recommended Society Pet Sitter. He called and made reservations for twice a day walking of my two dogs when I was released from the hospital. The walkers came at my pre-arranged times of 7 am and 7 pm every day weekdays and weekends. They are always on time and call or text ahead of time if a quick change in time has to occur. I coordinate with the walkers of time changes I need for my schedule. My three walkers are competent, knowledgeable about dogs, and polite. The staff in the office are great to work with too. I get a schedule for each booking period and the bill to pay from. My three walkers are Dawn, Paula, and Shelly. Upon my initial contact with the company I was impressed with their friendly, efficient customer service and when my proposed pet sitter came for a meet & greet I was very impressed with Shelly and felt she would not only keep my pups happy and cared for but also keep others safe as one of my pups can exhibit dog aggression.
