The Dog Wash in Arlington is an interesting little place. Staff is either friendly or not so friendly. Prices for grooming arnt really well established it seems like it's whatever number they want to tell you but still cheaper than most places which is nice. No complaints on the grooming itself. Just wished they showed more interest and care in interacting with the animals usually a place will say "oh she was great" or "thank you for letting us service your needs and giving us business" but no they hand you the leash and say nothing . read more

First I had called two week advance & made appointments for my two dogs. One for a bath & cut for my German Shepherd & a bath for my boxer. Lady said yes the two ladies will be there since one does the grooming cut & the other does washing, toenails etc. We were told to be there 8am which we were. I left thinking my babies would be done by noonish. I got a call at 12:30 stating they were going to need to be rescheduled!! That the groomer lady had gone home sick & the other lady was off work! Never again will I go back & have my babies sit in cages w no blankets underneath them for 3 1/2 hours before calling me TO BE RESCHEDULED. I went to your store this week with my dogs to get their nails trimmed. Apparently there is a new Manager. Prices went up, which is fine. The young lady behind the counter was kind with her greeting. One of the other young ladies came up front, said, WHICH ONES 1ST? She had a look on her face that reeked she did not want to be there that day. She took the 1st leash, and proceeded to DRAG him, instead of bending down, letting my old dog sniff her first, then speak gently to them so they would walk with her follow her to the back. I had to say, IF YOU PICK HIM/HER UP, THAT WOULD BE BETTER....which she then did. As I was waiting my other dogs turn, I heard someone say, STOP IT! Wondering, is she talking to my OLD dog?...who is as mellow as they come. I blew it off, thinking IM SURE SHES NOT TALKING TO MY DOG...? Then she said it again. STOP IT!!! So, I walked back where she was, which was not restricted, saw her holding my OLD dog, and I asked her...ARE YOU YELLING AT MY DOG? IS HE MIS BEHAVING? ...She said NO, JUST A LITTLE JERKY... I've been going to this location for at least 10 years. NEVER had a problem or question about pet/groomer relations. Always have witnessed loving groomer/pet relations. I am not pleased with this employees approach to a loving and caring touch with our/MY fur babies. I'm not sure if I will go back. As a new management team, listen. I was really taken aback. this location is very unprofessional. I called the morning to bring my dog in for a walk in grooming service. The lady I spoke with said it was ok to bring my dog in and drop off between 8-9am. I drove from Dallas 30mins away just to be told told I didn't have an appointment when I told her over the phone it was a walk in. she claimed she didn't hear me say walk in. my husband asked for a manager and guess what she was the manager. in any service industry you could have just took us in for the misunderstanding and inconvenience. I have an elderly Pomeranian that I groom myself due to her age. This place has it ALL! So easy to come in and do her bath, blow dry and brush out! I've been using this place for years and just had my first issue. I took my parents older dog to get her nails trimmed and the person at the front was on the phone. They were super kind and got to me as soon as they were available. They got the other employee from the back to do her nails. After they took her back past the gate and closed the door, I could hear them talking loudly to the dog telling her she was being crazy and unnecessary and that she was a crazy senile dog. This may not sound like much but to be able to hear that while not being able to see hurt my heart. She's an older dog that has a hard time getting around and can't see or hear very well so I imagine doing an activity that she doesn't enjoy with a stranger is a bit scary. I wish I had heard something like "it's ok" or "we're almost done good job". I love the self serve bath and affordable vaccines offered and usually have a great experience with all staff members. I'm hoping that this was a one off and the team member was just having a bad day. read more

I really enjoy bringing my fur baby here. I've only used their DIY wash station services and the clippers DIY area. My dog has a lot of hair he weights 110 lbs and it was a headache washing him at home and trying to dry him. I was taking him to a grooming place where they were charging me a lot of money. Always have had positive experiences with my fur baby. My dog loves this place and is always smiling when I bathe him. Only one time I was disappointed when I requested the groomer to just cut the fur from around his anus. Pomeranians are just a ball of beautiful fur. I have a Pomeranian and the groomer cut his tail and a lot more then I asked. With a Pom the beautiful tail is one of their best features. In the future I will not allow the groomer to trim him without me being present. Other then that one episode this place will treat your fur baby like their own. The place is spotless and smells fresh all of the time. I will be boarding him there because I think my Pomeranian won't be anxious. Now I will get separation anxiety probably more then he will. read more

Had a great experience here today. The gentleman and lady working this evening were super helpful and friendly. It was a really convenient and affordable way to bathe my 110 pound golden retriever. Each station comes stocked with brightening shampoo and a doggie dryer. You can buy additional specialty shampoos or conditioner for an extra $1 each (I got chocolate mint scented!!). Awesome, my husband goes up there and they ask what he needs and he tells them a nail trimming to which the girls quickly reply "we don't do that here". He tells them my wife called and y'all said y'all do? "Ohhh we don't do it for pitbulls, our insurance doesn't cover it". I love this place! The customer service is awesome and they are there for you if you need help, just ask. I've been going here for about 10 years using the self-service baths and really like the fact that they have the clinic. The clinic is great too! I saw the comments regarding the Trump dog shirts which I felt was pretty bold for the shop to carry but definitely not enough to keep me from a store. I'm there for a service and they are providing it. If you don't like it, it's your choice if you want to go or not, it doesn't justify a low rating when their business fulfills their goals which is fulfilling your grooming needs. read more

I was at the Dog Wash today 4/18/2021 @ 12.59 pm. I was waiting in the bathing area for the staff to bring my dog from the back after a nail trim when the sound of yelling got my attention. I turned and witnessed a groomer yelling at, and slapping the dog she was working on in the face three times. I learned that groomers name (Tammy) and asked to speak with a manager and was told there was none on duty. Tammy really needs to have charges brought against her. This to me is unacceptable. I have been bringing my dog here for years. The staff is very friendly and professional. My dog has issues with being in a holding cage, and they will be very helpful in not putting her in one. Every time I pick her up she looks great and she loves the staff. She is always happy to see them which says a lot I recommend this service whether you are getting a groom or a do it your self. Yeah dog wash is great.they are friendly , I wash my dog or drop him off for an hour to have a staff member wash and groom him. The price is fair , and they do a great job of cleaning dogs. They even have a check list of things to show you how the wash went. Overall I recommend this location, try even have a daycare which you can keep your dog overnight. read more

Eh, won't be coming back. The place was loud and smelled bad, and the baths are built in such a way that while you're bathing your dog, your also getting dirty water run all down your legs and feet. I left soaked to the skin and smelling awful. Employees were polite but reluctant to help when I asked for it. Update- yes, I absolutely have the right location. The place was loud. Barking dogs that are waiting to be picked up/boarded. Employees shouting at them to quiet down. Not a pleasant place to be in. Yes, the baths are crap, they have no sides. There's nothing between your clean clothes and the dog. Better places have actual tubs to help keep you dry. And YES, it smelled bad! Obviously not clean. The table was dirty and the tools all had hair in them. So, you can argue with a customer or you can take the criticism and make it better. Absolutely horrible experience! Took our three dogs there to drop off and get washed and nails trimmed.. The girl working there said due to insurance my pit bull puppy couldn't be washed by the staff which is fine minus her attitude while telling me. I ended up washing two of the three and then left. I called before driving 30 minutes and told the staff the dogs I have (pit bull pup, lab mix, Maltese poodle) and they said it would be $25 per. So needless to say the Maltese poodle didn't get her bath nor anything else. Waste of my time and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone read more

This was my first experience going to a dog wash. I usually take my dachshund to the groomer, but due to the holidays I wasn't able to get an appointment. I've always passed by The Dog Wash and decided to give it a go this time. The facility was clean and quiet (we went around 3:30pm on a Thursday). The person in the front counter was very nice and was able to explain to me how this whole thing worked. The employees were very friendly. I think it would of been helpful if the employees would of come to me while I was drying out my dog and asked me if I needed any help with anything. Maybe no one approached me because it was during their slower time of the day, but it would of been nice to have someone ask me if I needed any help with trimming my dog's nails or his paw pads, especially since I usually take my dog to the groomers. Also, I did see that they had Trump 2020 shirts. Personally I don't think it's a good idea to sell those in a business, as it could offend some people. Honestly it didn't bother me, but I can only imagine how uncomfortable it would make other customers feel. Aside of this, our experience was fairly positive. read more

Our poor puppy needed a bath. We usually went to PetSmart but we were going on a camping trip and the local PetSmarts were booked up. There used to be a self dog wash in the Mid-Cities area close to where we live. I couldn't find it online but I DID find this place. It was a little out of the way for us but it was, as Princess Leia recorded to Obi Wan, this was our only hope. So we trundled on down to S Arlington, and true to their own testimonial, they supply all the materials and we leave with a clean dog without the clean up etc. They also do their own grooming (which I believe is their 'bread and butter'). But we were able to wash and towel/blow dry our dog. AND it was very reasonable. read more

I brought my Dog here at about @6:30 almost closing time but she still excepted me . This place was for the most part clean , it did smell but hey its a dog wash. The problem i had was the flea dip i paid extra for really didnt kill the fleas if it didn't directly hit the flea itself and even then they were still alive, it honestly just looked like soapy water but besides that the dog tubs aren't big enough to prevent my dog from almost killing himself when he jumped over the tub and since he's chained to the wall he was basically choking I thought he snapped his neck. It scared me and they should really fix that but over all it wasn't that bad besides me getting wet. read more

Totally giving this place 5 stars for the experience WE had bathing and grooming our own pooch. The staff was extremely attentive and helpful although they never touched nor did we ask for help with Aquiles. We understand our German Shepherd is huge at 115 lbs so we are never offended when we take him to a facility that has breed rules or restrictions as GS's are mostly always on said lists. The place was constantly being cleaned while we were there. Staff kept pushing excess water out of the way to ensure safety and every time I turned, I was asked if there was something they could help with. I asked for an extra towel, it was provided immediately. Every tool you need is available and although they didn't need rinsing, I do it anyway for the safety and hygiene of Aquiles. Overall, hope to make The Dog Wash a permanent "go-to" place for our family. read more

BEWARE!!! I met my friend K at the Dog Wash. I had used them several times before and actually suggested meeting my friend there, so she could help me out by washing and grooming my German Shepherd and Golden Retriever. K used to be a professional groomer, and we have been friends for years! I had injections in my back in mid October and K offered to groom them for me as we are like family! I left them with K at the Dog Wash and went to run some errands. I was to return there and pick up the dogs and pay THE DOG WASH for the use of their facility. While running my errands, K called me and told me she had been asked to leave because she had been a professional groomer! I called the store to explain that she was my friend and described the whole situation exactly described as above. Rebecca the "manager" not only accused me of lying, but as she hung up on me the first time, I heard her say "I am only trying to keep my F$&@ing job!" CLICK! I called back to find out the owner's number ...Carl of Country Acres Kennel. I told him the whole story and he investigated it. What I had said was true, he did not deny. I asked for a refund of the $30 dollars that I was going to pay, that the store made K pay before leaving as they requested she do. My objections? K was washing my dogs... what if they had gotten away from her without their tags on? K transported my dogs to her house in her car with no authorization from me. She was forced to do so, because the Dog Wash had asked her to leave when she had done NOTHING WRONG!!! Why? Because my friend had been a professional groomer although she had not worked in that capacity for about a year! THE DOG WASH unnecessarily endangered the welfare of my dogs by placing K in a horrible position for NO REASON!!! They embarrassed my friend and endangered my dogs by their actions. I asked Carl for K's money back ($30) as a gesture of goodwill in the whole ugly scenario and he refused! The Dog Wash is affiliated with the Country Acres Kennels...I question how safe those dogs which are groomed and trained there actually are!
