Another shopping district I've spent plenty of time exploring. Mom's been to the Jewitt for treatment on her foot. We've ate at the gators plenty of times. The target was a staple for years. Baos castle that was owned by the son of the sushi restaurant was here for a while. I've been to the Massage Envy once or twice. I'm no stranger to this shopping center. I went to the Christmas event at Sodo and I had a blast! I took my dog to this event and everyone was loving on her!! I love how they had Christmas characters around taking pictures and making ppl laugh! I try some desert from Peko Peko and was delicious! Also the ice cream from Fragaria New Zealand ice cream and I was amazed how good it was!! The service on every kiosk was top notch , prices were decent and the whole event was very organized! Definitely something I will love to do every year! read more

What a fun place to stroll around! Visited this place for the first time, thanks to Yelp for their Wine Festival! Parking is free and the garage is not too far from the shopping plaza. We checked in at the tent, and off we went with our Yelp wine cups! Got to try more than 25 wines, and we were able to hit all the 12 stations. Never thought I'd get the chance to try wine from Georgia (the country), and we did! All the vendors were super friendly, and my boyfriend and I received a lot of swag and freebies. We also took advantage and went inside the Super Target for mini grocery shopping. What we didn't know was that there was going to be local vendors, food trucks and music! It was like the cherry on top with all the free wine. Thank you Yelp and SoDo District for this event! Definitely going back next year - and we're bringing company! read more

While parking can be somewhat a challenge at times, this is a cool little oasis just south of downtown Orlando to do some shopping or grab something to eat. The shopping plaza was built to serve the apartments that are all around here. Located just south of downtown Orlando, Florida (hence the designation of the term SoDo, it stands for SOuth of DOwntown), this neighborhood has certainly grown and is now much more than just the area where one of Orlando's hospitals were. This shopping strip, I would not call it a shopping plaza, but rather a side street with a bunch of restaurants and other businesses lining it. As I had said, parking can be a problem, but it is what it is. All in all, it is a cool little street of businesses just off of Orange Avenue. All in all, I will give this place five stars. read more

Attended the Sodo District Light Up holiday event today and got to experience their 12 Wines of Cheer Sip & Stroll too. I had such an amazing time. The wine was a perfect way to cheer up the holidays and all the festive sight seeing was fun on the eyes. Cheers to Melissa McAvoy for putting it on and thinking it through. We got a cute map of all the 12 spots to visit to chat for a quick pour of either rose, red, or white wine to send it away. I felt like I was at a holiday winery. They also had a few food trucks for purchase to pair your wine with or if not food dine in locations open. Taking the kiddos was a must too because they had a blast with the bouncy house, face painting, and holiday singing throughout. We got some great picture memories with Santa, Santa Elves, and even me with the Christmas Yeti! Also, comes with some cool useful goodies in our bags. Kind thanks, this holiday event threw me back to feeling like a kid again. All smiles. read more

I recently discovered the Sodo Shopping Plaza and love it. Bao's Castle brought me into the area and TJ Maxx and target kept me there for a few hours of shopping. I returned a couple more times and spent just as much time out and about. The TJ Maxx is large and stuffed with tons of holiday cheer. I walked in with the intention of poking around and walked out struggling to carry several bags of merchandise to the parking garage. I agree with Stacy F. that you should park in the Target parking lot and take the escalators down to the street. The parking garage stairway and elevators have a HORRIBLE smell of urine. read more

This shopping has a lot to offer for both shops and restaurants. Gators Dockside, Massage Envy, Super Target, TJ Maxx, and more. There are some spaces that could still be filled and the parking situation is interesting. Park in the Super Target garage and use the escalators or elevators to get to the shopping plaza and avoid the parking head ache. It is also located right next to a hospital so be on the look out for emergency vehicles. Overall: B+ Good shopping center, park in garage. read more

You'd think the fact that I'm here a few times a week would mean I'd give this place a better rating but no, SODO plaza just doesn't wow me. Sure, it's got a Target and a couple of decent places to eat but I feel that for such a popular area there should be more to offer. Target, SODO Sushi, Smoothie Room, and the nail salon are the main contenders here. Everything else is meh. Besides that, parking is a huge headache here! There is very limited street parking for the store fronts. The parking garage behind orlando orthopedic center is always packed, you're lucky if you find a spot on the top floor. The Target garage had plenty of parking but it is a bit of a walk to the other stores in the plaza. read more

So I'm just going to throw this out there and say that I have been to this Plaza so many times that it would not be possible to count them all. I'm a little ashamed to admit that it never occurred to me that you could actually check into this Plaza before my wife said something, hahaha. The main places that I can remember off the top of my head here are: Target TJ Maxx Soto sushi Orlando Orthopaedic office Massage Envy Spa Gator's Dockside In addition to this, there is also a medical supply store, a boutique cake shop, a couple Boutique clothing stores, and an electronics repair shop. All in all, it's a pretty decent array of places for such a small Plaza. There are also several other fast food restaurants nearby that are within walking distance if you are so inclined. This is a shared spacing Plaza, so on top of many of the shops are Apartment Homes. Traffic can be a little busy at times, but we've never had trouble finding parking here inside the garage by Target. read more

Word. I dig the variety this shopping center has and the upscale atmosphere. I agree with Rhea P "seems like a city for real city with the Target parking garage and the lofts." Yes, it not only holds the biggest, baddest Target in Orlando but it also has some great local businesses including OLV! Seriously the Target here is phenom! It also is the home of my foot doctor, Orlando Orthopedics. You can make an afternoon out of coming here. Grab an AMAZING Sunday brunch at OLV, hit up some shopping, lunch, a massage and then a drink or dinner at Twist Asian Fusion. The parking is a little iffy but if you get a good spot you score! The Target parking garage is the best of the two. Overall, great up and coming shopping center! read more

Hey! This is cool! Being in this Yelp challenge for 2016 has helped me keep track that I have now visited 200 new places! It's the middle of July when I went here so considering we are halfway thru the year, and it's 365 days, I'm not averaging too badly (but let's not talk about the condition of my wallet, okay? :-) So the main reason for my being here wasn't shopping but a brilliant initiative of this shopping center, whereby they partner with the Daily City's Cardboard Festival and two shopfronts became a art gallery exhibition center again. I think this is super innovative and loved that the mall broke the traditional model, with buildings clustered together rather than one massive buildings. The plants and the sidewalks lighting is pretty cool too. There still is a bit of construction going on towards the back, but I definitely enjoyed wandering thru the village like feel of this mall and kudos to their management for being so innovating and supporting the arts! From what I have read this new mixed use development cost about $100 million dollars and opened, last weekend (Oct. 10th), on schedule. So if you are traveling SOuth of DOwntown, on Orange Avenue you might want to check out the brand new pedestrian friendly area. Currently, TJ Maxx, 24hr. Fitness and Super Target are the main attractions. Other smaller businesses and restaurants are slated to join these 3 but no names have been advertised yet. If you do get hungry, a new Taco Bell is under construction right now at the corner of Sodo's land. And although it's still extremely new and not entirely done, it's a pleasant place with seemingly a lot of potential. The Super Target is set all the way back and has ample parking once inside their garage. There are parking spots along the buildings if you are lucky enough to find one. Once it's finished I think it'll be a great aspect of that area. It will certainly draw in the local neighborhood and others, like myself, who enjoy shopping at those stores but don't want to get on the highway to do so. read more

Great one-stop destination for many of my shopping needs. It has my gym (24-Hour Fitness) as well as the best Target and TJ Maxx in Orlando. It's super convenient to pick up some groceries and sundries at Target after a workout, as it saves me the extra drive to Publix. There are several decent restaurant options... my favorite being Jason's Deli, which has lots of healthy selections for post-workout meals, including an awesome salad bar. The Smoothie Room is another great health-conscious option. Plentiful parking here, with street parking and 3 convenient, covered garages. The only downside here is that there are some empty storefronts. It would be great to see a couple more businesses move in. Maybe a new wine bar / tasting room or a game room? read more

189/100 in 2016 challenge Who doesn't love Sodo. This few blocks are amazing. Everything you could ask for. The hubby and I usually drive here to go to Jason's Deli on the corner. Love that place. After visiting Jason's and filling up we have to walk around Target and T J Maxx. If you can't find what you are looking for in this target it's because they don't make it. This Target carries everything ever made. Love how clean the store is and how well organized. The smoothie room a few doors down from Jason's is yummo and worth the money. Good refreshing smoothies.This Gators is one of the nicest ones there is. Worth the trip to go walk around and see all the different stores and what Sodo has to offer. Many doctors offices also in the area. Nice girlfriend place to go get a massage at Massage Envy and then eat at one of the many different restaurants. Good street parking as we have never parked in the garage. read more

I really like the Sodo plaza! The location is really convenient and has a ton of great stores. Parking is a bit tight, but there's plenty of space if you go into the garages. There's a really nice Super Target, a TJ Maxx, a couple hair places, some restaurants (I was there yesterday and apparently OLV is reopening!), a gym, and some other places. It makes living in the Delaney Park area (where I'm located) a lot more convenient. It also has a lot of restaurants with outdoor seating, so I often walk here with my dog for brunch (The Egg and I is pretty good). The plaza is very clean and well lit. I've been to the plaza at various times of day and always felt safe. I usually see at least a couple of police officers, so I'm not very worried about my car or my safety. Overall, it's a great plaza in a great location. I will return often. read more

I can see a lot of potential but right now there are a lot of "For Lease" signs and only 4 main things open as of now: Target, TJMaxx, Mattress Giant and 24/7 Fitness. I also noticed a cell phone store and nail place that were open. It reminds me of Winter Park village with it's main entrance leading down a shop lined corridor that leads straight to the Target. There are parking spots along this entrance road as well as a few garages. There is housing available but I'm not sure if they are occupied yet. Target is big, beautiful, clean and fully stocked. Good for me but bad for them; when I visited there was hardly anyone there. Even though I parked just 30' outside of Target's entrance I couldn't take my cart off the sidewalk to my car. I understand why (carts would clutter the crowded corridor) but it was none the less a surprise and inconvenient. There were several store fronts with "Coming Soon" signs and I saw a Jason's Deli, Nature's Table and some Hibachi place. Unfortunately there were no restaurants open when I was there. When this place is up and running it will be a much needed shopping boost to this part of Orlando. read more

This place is coming together nicely! They do have a little bit of everything. Supertarget has everything you need and it's so clean and nice inside. There is a lot more open now. OLV, Flippers Pizza, Repunzle boutique, TJMaxx, Orlando Orthopedics, 24 hour fitness (place is awesome), Asian Fusion, Massage Envy, Jason's Deli, Hair Cuttery and more... I would love to live in the apts right above it all! Wouldn't have to go far for anything. And it's not too far from Downtown. read more

I live here in the Lofts at Sodo and just in the last 6 months, 3 stores have closed. The Target (although convenient), simply isn't a strong enough anchor to attract a larger crowd of shoppers that could support more stores. As for the apartments, they are nice...Kind of in the way to describe a not so attractive person in an acceptable way. Nice...but the service is poor, they use an electric blower to clean the outdoor hallways at 8:30am several times a week. This sound echoes through the entire building and completion takes a long, long time. Especially if you don't have to wake up early and get to lay in bed, listening to it. Pets are allowed and occasionally, there will be remnants of dog poo left in the halls where irresponsible owners choose not to use a doggy bag. I like the feel of this place. . .seems like a city for real city with the Target parking garage and the lofts. I really do enjoy using the shopping cart lift to the upper levels of the parking garage. . . I know, I gain pleasure from such simple things. . .it's awesome actually! It can be difficult to find certain stores if you do not know what you are looking for. I feel the signage could be a lot more clear, but there are not that many shoppes there so if you ride around a while, you'll find it. Really nice shopping plaza. There is tons of parking (two garages and some street parking), but how far away is the issue... I've always been lucky somehow and gotten spots on the street near where I want to go, but you might have to park in the Target parking garage and walk a ways depending on where you want to go. I have unfortunately not been to any of the restaurants here, just Target and an office for a work function. The area is very clean and bright; it's a very cheerful place. read more

Imagine my surprise when, my mom and I came here while on vacation to get our waxing done and it was completed with perfection! The ladies understood everything that we said, they even had GENUINE smiles on their faces! After growing out my eyebrows for the 8th time this year, only to be sorely disappointed at EVERY single nail shop that I visited in the D.C. area, it was a very pleasant surprised to walk out with my eyebrows shaped properly. I generally like this center. My gym is there (24 Hour Fitness). I go to the Target at least once a week. Jason's Deli is great. There's just ONE drawback... Here is the BIG, BIG problem with this center... PARKING! WHY - on weekdays - when hardly ANY of the businesses are open at 9AM - is it IMPOSSIBLE to find a decent parking space. HUNDREDS of cars in the lot and VERY few businesses open at 9AM on weekdays. Is it workers at nearby medical centers parking there and walking to work? I go to the gym in the morning and I try to get there by 9. If I'm there at 8:45 I can park anywhere I want. If I get there at 9:15, I have to drive all the way up to the roof. It's a very curious issue. And why do they bother to reserve any spots for Compact Cars Only. Nobody heeds those signs... there are SUVs, vans, any and every vehicle you can imagine parks there. When I go on weekends - when presumably more CUSTOMERS would be in the lot - the parking situation is entirely reasonable. I would suggest they need some kind of parking enforcement there on weekday mornings to look for people who park in the garage and then walk away from the shopping center entirely. Make it more convenient for the people who actually PATRONIZE businesses in your shopping center. read more

I've found that different stores have different sales and clearance items but this one seems to always have the best ones. After much anticipation the SODO shopping plaza finally opened its doors Sunday 10/13 and I was there to welcome this new development to the neighborhood. Living in downtown has its benefits but attractive shopping plazas we were without. Until now. SODO, a catchy abbreviation of South Downtown is still in its beginning stages but there is much to look forward to among its tree lined shop fronts. A taste of suberbia without leaving the urban downtown district. And if you really love it you can move in. The plaza will also house an array of condominiums. Think a miniature version of Baldwin Park. So far the two main attractions there happen to be my two favorite stores. Being a girl who has in fact shopped till she dropped yet still knows better than to attempt living beyond my means the Super Target and TJ Maxx have me transfixed. The Super Target has a parking garage above it and, my favorite discovery, a cart escalator. You ride up a normal escalator to your vehicle after getting your groceries or home goods and your full cart rides up beside you on its own separate escalator that you snap its wheels into. As if I needed another reason to buy enough stuff to fill a cart. To my dismay the downtown area had been missing a TJ Maxx so this is also a welcome advancement. No more traveling to Altamonte for their trendy options. And I don't remember TJ Maxx carrying "Ed Hardy" garb and "Juicy Couture" but this one has a whole display devoted to the popular labels. Even "Seven for all Mankind" cords can be snagged. I can't wait to see what other boutiques and restaurants SODO will offer us in the coming months. . read more

I am seething with excitability over this new massive shopping/living area downtown. Last week I went to check out the place and what they have lined up so far. The new Super Target seems to be the main focal point of the area, which is really nice and not dingy looking. The area is set up very nicely with a lot to look forward to. There are a lot of empty areas available for businesses and shops so we will see what comes of that. I also got to see the inside of the 24/7 Fitness, which was vacant and not filled with equipment yet. I can definitely tell that this is going to be a major gym, the weight and cardio areas are massive, as well as the NBA sized basketball court and salt water pool. There is also a pretty big TJ Maxx, as well as Jason's Deli, Smoothie King, and South Beach Tanning. Above the shopping areas are condos/studio apartments which seem to aim for the upscale living. I would definitely check out the new SODO, especially before all the crowds start to take notice. read more

I enjoy coming into the SODO complex, especially when I can slide into one of the Grand street storefront parking slots. Plenty of parking in uncovered lots and the parking garage. Nice selection of stores and various places to grab a nosh, meal, drink and/or dessert along with your retail therapy or professional service. I visit SODO regularly. I wish that it would reach full occupancy which is hasn't had since opening. There are several options to eat at. My choices are Fiipper's pizza and the Smoothie Room. There is of course a Target with a Starbucks inside. The parking is a little funky with the garage above the Target. I sometimes use the side lot if I don't plan on buying lots of stuff. I also get mani/pedi's at the salon here and have gotten hair cuts as well. So overall it is a very useful plaza and a nice addition to downtown. read more
