Pretty much the friendliest staff you will find anywhere in Socorro. Went there twice first night I went there they were out of gauc. Really ??? Com'on.... The burritos here are excellent and extremely cheap, which is perfect for a student. The chile is flavorful and spicy, the people are nice, and the food is served quickly. This is definitely one of the better restaurants in town, especially if you need a quick lunch. read more

Stopped by Socorro to gas up on our way home to Las Cruces. Saw all the signs driving back from Rio Rancho. All the signs read, " best restaurant in Socorro". My husband and I thought why not. We're in no hurry to get back out on the highway or home. Most disgusting restaurant I have ever eaten at. They brought over 2 Simi warm sopapillas to our table. Not great at all, your better off making them yourself at home. A little different from your regular chips and salsa. Kinda different. We ordered 2 Chile relleno with bean, cheese and rice plate. My husband had his with Christmas sauce ( red and green Chile on top). Our food took less than 10 minutes to get to our table. Makes me wonder though, how fresh is it really???? Who ever was working in the kitchen handling the fryer was DEEP FRY HAPPY!!!! They deep fried the Chile relleno way to long, they should be golden brown not dark brown. Either they fried it way too long or they need to change out the oil. Bean's we're good, the rice tasted like tomatoe sauce. You'd think they'd be like "how was everything"? Instead, her reply was $24.02, even the food was gross we still gave our server a good tip. It's not the FOH (front of the house) to make sure that the BOH (back of the house) is cooking the food properly. Better off eating at a fast food restaurant. Arrived early on a Sunday morning and were seated and served quickly. The breakfast burritos are delicious but come "smothered" in either red or green chili sauce. The red chili sauce was just the right amount of kick. If you aren't necessarily into spicy, ask them to go light on the sauce and you will be pleased. read more

The food was good and the staff was great. I was from out of town and tried the burrito with red chili sauce on it. After eating a few bites, the waitress noticed that I was sweating profusely. She came and offered to remake my burrito with the red chili sauce on the side. She was an angel in disguise....I loved the heat, but the heat did not love me!!! The food was some of the best I had in Socorro and the staff was also some of the best. Eat at El Camino, you will have some great perspective of how good of a staff they have at Sofia's. read more

First time here. I had the stuffed sopa with chicken (both red and green.) Both the red and green had great flavor. Just the right amount of heat. The sopa wasn't greasy or drowned in cheese. Chips and salsa we're light and crispy with nice, thick salsa. Just like the sopapilla, I was stuffed. Very glad I stopped in! read more

This is possibly the worst food I have ever had in a restaurant. Ordered the chicken fajitas. They made them in a fry pan soaked in oil served with corn tortillas that were so greasy, I had to wipe them in a napkin. Beans made with lard and the rice tasted like it was out of a box. I go every Sunday morning at 11am because thats when they start serving Sopapillas! They're breakfast burritos are OHMYGOD delicious and the Carne Adovada burrito is my choice when I'm having dinner there. They also have live music on Sundays. Love this restaurant. read more

When we were in Soccorro recently, we asked a local where to get good chili and he sent us to Sofia's Kitchen. We were not disappointed! The red chili was about as hot as I can eat it and with very good flavor. When we found our way back to Soccorro on the return trip several days later, we ate there again. read more

This place is average, the food is not the greatest, the service isn't the fastest. They have decent food and decent prices, you have to remember this is a small college town and they don't have to be the best, they do have a band that plays on weekends and i agree about the burrito Tyme next door the breakfast burritos are good and for three bucks you can't beat it. read more
