Great food for the price, and I think it takes forever even though its a drive thru, but its real food not taco bell styled crap!! They have you pull foward after you order & pay so they can help tge next person, so sometimes it gets croeded at the drivethru... Update: tonight I ordered a chicken taco plate & a pint of beans for the baby, after 15 minutes & 4 cars ordered & left with their food, i reversed my car to the window & the cashier looked stunned that i was still there, the cook made beef tacos so it took another 5 minutes, for a grand total of 20 minutes!!! If you have a child in a carseat in a vehicle thst is not moving for 20 minutes, you know how much of an eternity it feels like!! I finally got in the back seat & nursed my baby to calm him down!! We went for lunch. Was told by waitress that she wanted to get our order in first cuz there was a table of about 12 men. We were there for an hour still no food. We noticed like 2 tables get their food in our section and sewers before them. Table of men got up to pay for their meal. We went and asked and they told us they did not even put our order in and could not recall who even took our order. My husband IS very picky when it comes to service. And he is Pissed!! I love that place. All they said was sorry and went on with their business like nothing happened!! Very upset especially when I used to really like this place. But I will never be going back. This is the worse service I have ever received in any restaurant ever!! read more

Stopped here the lunch twice. I opted to do all the authentic Mexican food I could while in Soccoro, and this place was awesome. Food was good, it was a family restaurant atmosphere and servers were very nice and helpful explaining things on the menu. I had the enchilada lunch special, believe it was L3, and it was great. However be aware, that when they ask you red or green sauce, you pick either or both and tell them on the side or on the meal itself. If you don't choose on the side, they will smother the entire dish in it and it is very spicy. Don't get me wrong, it's delicious, but spicy and you will have some gastro-intestinal pain in a little while afterwards. Highly recommend this place. read more

Consumers beware!!! Quality and friendliness has diminished over the years. We believe in second chances, but this was the straw that broke the camels back. We were ignored for quite some time and when we finally got our food, it was literally dropped on the table with an awful attitude. We used to love their sopapillas, but they used to offer them after 11:00 am, now they don't even offer them at 2:00pm. Try Bodega or Socorro Springs they're on California Street, that'll be a better choice if you're in the area. read more

We drive through Socorro frequently to visit family. We found this restaurant a couple of trips back. The food is the best Mexican food that I have found in Socorro. It is always a busy place but the service is fast and friendly. Great place to take a break. Both times we stopped was on a Sunday morning and they had live music group. read more

Had the combo steak and chicken fajitas and that was pretty good. The rice was not good at all it was way too mushy not sure if they were trying to make Mexican or Spanish rice. I recently called the restaurant and they hung up on me. The staff is incredibly rude and the quality of food has gone down in general. I showed up to pick up the order and I explained to the lady it was 3 separate orders and she kept yelling at me saying the total is $17.11. NEXT time I will go to McDonald's!! Look, I'm not from New Mexico but I often go to the gym at New Mexico Tech. So, I'm constantly passing this place. If you think it's trashy, please leave. This is the best food I've ever had in my entire life. The chicharrones burrito is to die for. Shame I can't give ZERO stars. We were passing through and decided to stop and eat somewhere. We walk in and sit down, our waitress comes over and gives us the chilliest of receptions. After we waited over 5 minutes someone finally came and took our drink order..we knew what we wanted but we were told that someone else would come to take that order. The lady returned with our drinks and cold sopapillas. Another five minutes later and the waitress who takes your food order showed up. She walks up to the table looking like a mess and simply says the words "ready" don't bother with hi my name is this and I'll be taking care of you today... It takes a lot for me to stiff someone but this pretty much was the icing on the cake. After finishing our disgusting food in less than 5 minutes because it was disgusting...we got up to pay. No one ever asked was everything okay no one asked can I get a refill for your empty water... No one came by so we could ask for the check.. So as we walked out the two ladies that helped us didn't bother to say thank you for coming just basically stared us down and that was it... It was actually very strange. At least they saved me a tip! I moved to NM a year ago and I live around here so my expectations aren't high.. Sat for the longest time before anyone came to take our order. Finally, I was able to ask for the enchilada casserole....."we're out of it". Then I asked for the ribs with Cole slaw...."we're out of Cole slaw". The food that we were able to order was simply okay.....bland as could be. The toast that was supposed to accompany the entree, was missing and had to be sought after. Our waitress never came by our table to check on us. The sopapillas were thick and doughy. They have no idea how to run a business and will never take any form of responsibility for their actions. The red here is quite unique. It has a very strong flavor to it. Everything is made quite well. At Sophia's, the dine in adjunct of Burrito Tyme, the owner pays excellent attention to the customers. We loved Sophia's. So nice to call ahead, run through the drive through and head home to a good movie and eat dinner. I don't know what happened but all of a sudden the chili is the hottest in town. My husband's stomach hurt so bad from the heat of the chili he almost asked me to take him to the ER! We have been back 2 more times and same thing.
