The reviews had me a bit skeptical about bringing my boys here but I'm glad I decided to try the free trial offered for both and ended up signing them up! We have had great experiences with both coaches; Finn for my older child in the skills institute program & Nahla for my toddler in the bunnies program at Lil' Kickers. Both coaches were super friendly and great with the kids! The toddler session was perfect for their age group & super fun. My toddler had a blast and it was great to have him around other kids. My oldest had previous soccer experience on a different team last year and said this was the best practice he's ever experienced and felt like he was actually learning something vs when he played elsewhere. The only thing that threw me off was the customer service at the front desk when coming during the week. It was our first time here with my oldest and we wanted direction on where to go & we were given the most basic directions that still left us looking for our sons class, we ended up somewhere else and we're kindly redirected by one of the coaches. Customer service on the weekend is COMPLETLY different. When checking in for my toddlers trial the lady at the desk was SO friendly, smiling, and very very helpful, she actually explained where on the field we would be since the classes are divided into sections on the same field (which is why we were confused with my oldest but received no help there) I had basic questions that I ended up leaving with since I felt like I was bothering the other lady. Maybe she was having a bad day? Idk but a smile goes a long way when dealing with people. Overall experience was great and we ended up signing up both kids! Don't let the front desk be your deciding factor; you're able to check in from your phone and don't really have to deal with front desk unless you happen to have a question or want to make a purchase. read more

This was for the lil' kickers morning class. I wanted to share my disappointing experience with the front desk, coach, and overall program. We checked in at approximately 10:45am. Little to no direction was given other than letting us know where to go and who the coach would be for the session. When I signed up it told me Alex would be leading the class but the front desk let us know they were on vacation and Nala (apologies if I misspelled their name) was covering. Being the first class, I expected a short tour or more of an in depth conversation about what to expect. This did not happen. We sat at the small bleachers outside the indoor field as the first class was finishing up. Once that class was over we waited our turn. Coach Nala started to clean up and put everything away. At first I thought this was odd but figured maybe they have to use specific equipment for each class. She made eye contact with me several times, I smiled, but did not say anything. I took my daughter to the bathroom and noticed Nala and the girl at the front desk were talking. We then walked back to where we were seated, once again passing the desk. A few more minutes passed, so I went up to the front desk to ask when class would start. The front desk girl then tells me "oh yeah sorry it's canceled today". At no point did she or the coach think that it would be a good idea to come over and let us know. I asked her why I wasn't notified. She explained it must've been because I was on a free trial that we weren't alerted. I then asked why I received 1) a confirmation text and 2) email asking me to confirm and fill out forms. Both of which allowed me to do so, not giving an error message or notice regarding the cancellation. She said she wasn't sure but I shouldn't have been able to book the class in the first place. I calmly let her know that this was disappointing, that my daughter was really looking forward to it, and that this will affect my decision to sign her up here. She told me "she doesn't know what to do and that she could I guess sign us up for another day". Overall, this experience was very disappointing. I took time off of work to take her. For parents, our time is valuable and when I sign my child up for something, I hope that my time is respected as I respect the program and its staff. The staff were unprofessional and unhelpful. I won't be signing my daughter up (or my son, for that matter) and will also share with fellow parents our experience. read more

Came here for a lil kicker trial class for my 3 year old son. Parking was easy to find. No issues there. Checking in was a little confusing. The email says to check in online but they don't give you much direction afterwards. The lady at the front desk just told us to go to upper right field. Alright. After some walking around and asking the people with coach on their shirt. We finally found the right spot. My son had a great time during class. I love the fact they let the parents be on the field with the little ones. I tried to register him after class but wanted to get a little more information about how the classes work. The lady in the front was very short with me and quite rude. They have no make up classes and cannot pro rate any weeks you know you won't be able to make class. I get it. It's a business and that's their policy. But there's a humane way to speak to people. Strong pass. If they are this rude in the beginning I can't imagine how rude they would be once I paid. Very disappointing experience. We played matches here several times, and every single time there was a problem. The staff shut off the lights early without any consideration, even while games were still ongoing. My friends and I drove for about an hour, and it was a complete waste of time. The behavior of the staff was extremely rude, unprofessional, and openly racist. There was no respect at all toward customers. I strongly advise people not to go here. You go expecting to enjoy yourself, but instead you leave frustrated, angry, and with very negative energy. read more

We usually played matches at this field every Sunday evening. However, during or after almost every match, we were faced with rude behavior from your staff. We raised this issue several times, and when we said, "If this continues, we will stop coming," the response we received was, "That's up to you." Unfortunately, the same rude behavior continued despite this. Also they closed the light earlier. For this reason, we will no longer be coming. Congratulations to you and your management. read more

The staff is nice and friendly and the family environment is positive even though the majority of traffic is men's soccer. However-- This facility desperately needs a deep clean and refresh. Business leaders--please fix the floors, replace broken things and do a deep reset. The regular maintenance schedule is not happening and clearly no one is doing a regular walk through. I have seen trash and food left behind for days. The volleyball area looks neglected and filthy unfortunately. It's discouraging for the kids using it and messes with their confidence when they see other facilities. Thank you for reading and I will be happy to update this review! New ownership . Great sports center for the kiddos but horrific at communication Location - strong PASS. I don't know anyone that lives in alameda so it feels like a headache to get to and I wish something like this existed elsewhere in the east bay. I love their sports programs if you're willing to pay $$ - otherwise you can always contact your city for local sports clubs for the youth . MY city sucks and there isn't a lot to do for the toddlers so I'm investing out of pocket for Sejm and soccer. This center hosts the Lil Kickers Soccer club and you can enroll kids each season (every 12 weeks) as young as 18months . I love that the groups are split by ages, it's something busy for my kid to do weekly , and the cost includes the uniform which is adorable. They have classes daily at various times so there are a lot of options . There is a karate or judo program upstairs and the main center also hosts basketball practice for older kids maybe 5 and up. Many of the coaches seem decent. Ours is a school teacher but probably not the friendliest for dealing with 2/3 year olds. Not mean at all but def talks to them as if they're older . Toddlers need a little more warmth. But who cares- at this age it's parent mandated participation so you're there the whole time The bad : it's notoriously hard to get in contact t with anyone who works here. Like who operated this place? Where is there office if you have questions and/or want to pre register? They don't answer the phone or return voicemails . I have emailed and it took FOREVER. I paid online and the online system SUCKS so it was unclear what I paid for since it doesn't reflect the program /class I registered my kid for. The online system need rot changes and include inform such as registration confirmation, your kids' class schedule, the name of the coach, and other Contact info.... Until they do this there needs to be a clear point of contact for us first time parents read more

Overcharged over $900 and I've been waiting three months for the refund every time I go there every Saturday morning for my kids soccer practice they say that it will go back in. They refunded one class for $300 then another class another month and I'm still waiting for the other $300 is taken three months. The accounting and the management is horrible. I will never refer anybody here again. Back in August, I signed up my twins for the skills class by the way they're five years old. After the first class, the coach, Adrian said they're too advance and should go to Manchester city. Which is a little bit more expensive so I went to the front desk to tell them what Adrian told me and they were supposed to , cancel the two classes that I paid for for the skills and put me over into the Manchester city class. What they did was charge me three times for the Manchester city class. And never refunded me the skills class. So this is what I've been dealing with and waiting for over $900. Also, I'm a longtime Bladium soccer mom. My oldest whose seven now has been here since he was four and my five-year-old twins have been here since they were two. I've never had an accounting issue issue with Bladium and if they ever did overcharge me they refunded me back immediately , it seems like Sofive is the problem. My oldest left skills Institute when he was six and we started Montclair Clippers, which is well organized through the UK soccer program. I will not sign up my twins for so five again and and will sign them up for Montclair clippers. read more

We did Baladium toddler soccer classes before the change over this year. I am actually happier with the new coach we have and the class itself is good. However, Sofive seems disorganized. 1) It was hard to figure out where to check in for our first session (the snack bar). At first I scanned a QR code on a sandwich board to check in, but it didn't provide us with any instructions about what field to go to or who to check in with. 2) They were already out of toddler size uniforms, and so far we haven't been able to get one in my son's size. 3) I was never sent a schedule of closure dates, and there doesn't seem to be one online. I had to email and call twice this week (before Christmas) to find out if there were classes this and next Sunday (apparently there are not). Someone finally called back after the 2 calls and 2 emails - they don't seem all that responsive. So, this is a good place to go to access indoor sports for your child, but they definitely need to get more organized and learn how to communicate. read more

Sofive is a facility for beginners, casual and competitive players to advance their skills. There is a strong sense of community. The staff are nice/welcoming and helpful. Leagues are always entertaining to watch, but my favorite program is Lil' Kickers! As a teacher I notice age appropriate early childhood concepts weaved into the curriculum. Classes are taught by knowledgeable coaches who play soccer and enjoy working with kids. The children always have no matter their age. read more

We've been coming here for years with our two kids for soccer. The soccer instruction is good, but the state of the facilities seems to have rapidly degenerated under the new ownership. There have been safety hazards that have not been fixed for weeks or months (e.g., the area where you step out to the fields in the back), the bathroom sinks have been clogged and almost overflowing on multiple occasions, there is sometimes no soap in the bathrooms, and the entrance to the facility resembles a garbage dump on Sunday mornings (presumably after Saturday night games). There never seems to be anyone on site who cares at all about these problems. We'd really like to keep bring our kids here, but are considering other options. read more

I come here often for my students' games. This place has undergone major changes and renovations. I noticed the women's bathroom is out of compliance. The larger stall is big enough for a wheel chair and had the bars installed. HOWEVER, the toilet seat cover dispenser is way TOO HIGH for someone who might be confined to a wheelchair and struggled to stand and reach a toilet seat cover. Also, if a child happens to use that stall (maybe it's the only one available) they also cannot reach a toilet set cover. Another issue with the women's restroom is there is no diaper changing station! Many parents who bring their young children to play here also have Infants and kids with diapers. When my daughter was an infant I either had to take the risk and change her on a bench, the floor, my car's backseat, or leave to target nearby to use the diaper changing station there. Since this place is already investing funds to expand the dining area and other spaces, please made changes in the bathrooms so they are in compliance and also accessible to parents who have to change diapers. read more

We started the Lil-Kickers before the transition and we were very satisfied until Sofive bought them out. We have several issues with them ever since. First of all, all of their coaches are high school kids who has no idea about the how to teach anything let alone to kids. They are also quite rude and dismissive when you try to talk to them. Typical high school kids. Not their fault. It is Sofive's fault to make them teachers. The director, Hector, is a disaster. Completely unresponsive to any form of communication. Doesnt respond to emails. No office hours. You have no way of reaching him unless if you bump into him randomly. They often end up mixing classes because the attendance is low but they dont care if the classes they are mixing are the same age/skill level. My 3 yr old daughter had to "play" with 6 yr old boys with proper cleats once. Their so called "teachers" didnt have any issues with it until I pointed it out. read more

My family and I have been playing here for years. My husband has been playing here for over 20 years, I've been playing for over 10 and our kids have even played here as well. We really enjoy the people who play here, but the management has been increasingly bad. We almost stopped playing here a couple years ago when our team was cussed out by the head soccer director, Luis, because he was defending his step son (who was watching a game on his phone instead of reffing our game). It was so unprofessional, but we let it slide. Recently, the schedules have been awful: multiple double header a season, games scheduled on days we aren't supposed to play, teams being added after deadlines resulting in messed up schedules (we had a doble header against the same team on the same night). Luis does not know how to effectively communicate. As someone working with lots of people, you'd think he would have developed customer service and interpersonal skills. There is no effective communication whatsoever, and it's frustrating because we pay a lot of money to be here. I think the management here needs to take some leadership courses in order to learn how to be diplomatic and respectful of all the players here. read more

Unfortunately I have to write a fairly negative review. We took our son here for the Lil Kickers program. We attended over the summer and the class only had 3 kids in it. Most days there were just 2 kids, and sometimes our son was the only student. While this may seem of no issue, at this age they really thrive off of the group dynamic. The teachers were friendly enough, not much issue there, and the facility is nice enough too. Trying to get anyone to help is like pulling teeth. I emailed their GM to no response. Luckily I ran in to him one day at the facility and he did help me. We decided to give the fall session a try, but low-and-behold the Friday session, which he told me had 3 other kids in it, got cancelled due to low attendance. I've been trying to get ahold of the team for weeks now to refund us for the fall session because it's difficult for us to attend any other day. I've called and emailed several times each and not a single response. Super frustrating because it sounds like to was nice under Baladium's tenure. read more

Been playing outdoor soccer here for a few months now, we always play late games and when games finish they don't give us enough time to get changed and get our stuff ready before they turn off the lights, our games end usually 10:50 and the lights are off by 10:55 give us atleast 15 minutes. read more

The indoor soccer is fun. I came by to watch some of my friends play soccer. It got pretty intense. They had a place where I could get a drink. They didn't mind if I walked around. The parking was pretty good, I found a spot right in front of the building and the staff were nice. Been playing here for a while and the place has really gone down in quality. The league organizer Luis is one of the worst organizers I have ever come across in sports. He takes no accountability for anything scheduleing wise when that is his job. So many games scheduled at the same times as others on the same fields, or cancelations made within half an hour of kickoff. They make you pay almost $1000 dollars per team per season, yet the games are almost completely organized and put on by the players and not sofive or Luis. The only thing that they provide is a referee (who is usually just a front desk employee with some general soccer knowledge, in plain clothes). On top of this, there is almost no maintenance done to the field or equipment. Holes in the fences around the outdoor fields, ripped up goal nets, cameras meant to film the games are placed in locations that show a quarter of the field (they've now removed all the cameras for maintenance , and three weeks in not a single one has been replaced or put back). It really does just seem like once Sofive and Luis get paid, they completely forget about the players that come to Alameda to enjoy soccer and compete. Very sad place now. read more
