Parking is not the best especially during peak hours; I find myself parking inside the residential areas just to come to gym. They have auto belay, a top out area, and a very large bouldering section. They don't have a super long slab wall, but they do have a wide variety of problems and types of boulder holds. As an avid v4 climber, I think the routes here a fairly easy for my grade, yet the problems are very fun in itself. The interior is very clean and the workers are diligently checking the gym, restocking, and cleaning restrooms. They have merchandise for purchase, too. On very busy days, the students from the colleges are here to climb. I'd avoid climbing in weekdays after 3 PM if you want more time on the wall without competition. Other than that, it is a nice gym with nice workers.

I was met with SO much hostility from the front desk, thought I was hallucinating. Did their waivers and training video as expected, worker had left us to our own devices entirely. Huge line at the front, I'd been there at least 45 minutes at that point. Then I saw this adorable microscopic font sign, super endearing You could have just told me you don't take walk-ins, instead of being brazenly rude. When clearly that policy isn't even enforced. Other patrons who also walked in didn't receive quite as much vitriol. I was told I'd have to test out, no biggie, but nobody else was told this. Nobody else was asked "do you climb?" with a whole lot of attitude. Yeah I climb, and I enjoy walking in here looking like a corporate loser about as much as you enjoy seeing it. Just wanted to change into jeans and a t-shirt and boulder a bit. Might go to some other hangar 18 location someday, but won't be enthused about it. Not a lot of options around. Saw the sign and left because they hadn't asked me to pay yet, and I'm not paying for that attitude. I can only assume she was giving me attitude because I walked in looking all corporate, which is ironic to me because this is the most corporate looking rock gym I've ever seen. Y'all can keep it.

I didn't know it was on Rochester Ave and it's that close to Foothill Blvd. The night market took place in most of its parking lot area. There's indeed a good ample number of parking spaces. Part of it was used for preferred parking for a nominal fee. We didn't get to go inside the building, but we did spend some time outside near the basketball courts shared with pickleball. There are about 6 portable pickleball nets with permanent lines. Now I know there is another place that has pickleball courts. Yay! It looks like this center is used for special events and festivals quite frequently. Good to know as I will look out for them. Thank you!

Which means that the only public pickleball courts are here, or Red Hill Park. Since beggars can't be choosers, I choose to play here. Technically, these are outdoor courts (5), but they are covered, but with no walls, which makes it possible to play in summer without getting heat stroke. The pickleball courts share space with the outdoor basketball courts, so the court lines can make things a little confusing at first, but you get used to it. The court surfaces are quality and well maintained.

From the moment you walk through the front door, it's clear that this organization is exceptionally well run. The facility is spotless, organized, and welcoming, and the staff is attentive, friendly, and on top of everything. You immediately get the sense that your children are in capable hands. Our beginning instructors, Miss Gabby and Miss Abby, have been absolutely outstanding. We have two energetic little boys who can definitely keep adults on their toes, yet both instructors have shown incredible patience, kindness, and professionalism. They greet our boys with genuine smiles, keep them engaged throughout the lesson, and create an environment where the kids feel both safe and excited to learn. What has impressed me most is their ability to balance a confident command presence with exceptional customer service. They know how to maintain structure and keep the lesson moving while still making each child feel encouraged and successful. That combination is rare, and it's a testament to the quality of instructors RSL hires and develops. As parents, there's nothing more reassuring than watching people genuinely care about your children while helping them build an important life skill. After only two lessons, we've already seen confidence beginning to grow, and we couldn't be happier with our decision to enroll at RSL Aquatics. If I could give 10 out of 5 stars, I absolutely would. Things I liked: Your child will SWIM. I think my kids legs…read morefelt like rubber the first day because the philosophy here in both the intermediate and advanced is to just keep swimming! The pool is huge and the instructors send them back and forth over and over! Endurance seems to be the main philosophy. Some of the instructors are very engaging, overall everyone is pretty friendly! Things I noticed Safety is not a huge priority. There is no one on deck keeping an eye out for things the instructors may miss. The first day of class, and multiple after, my kids instructor walked into the building telling the other instructor of the other class to "keep an eye" to which he just kind of laughed and went back to the class he was teaching. Meanwhile she had 4 swimmers in the pool in other lanes behind and the instructor of the other class was faced away from them the entire time. That was my 7 year olds first or second day in the class. I had seen this sort of thing a lot, their instructor would chat with a students mom who was seated in the upper level, she'd face away from the students and just chat. By the 4th class I was ready to let the office know, but then the owner came outside, and held a conversation with the instructor the same way, her back away from the swimmers. My swimmer had been introduced to all of the strokes but I enrolled him to improve his form. He'd taken other classes where there was an emphasis on that. What I found is that there is very little instruction in the advanced class, the students are sent on back and forth several times but only upon request will they be critiqued or given better techniques. It is more like someone standing there somewhat keeping an eye on them and telling them to swim 400 or what not. At one point they had the owner, and at another, her husband and like I mentioned at another point, the other instructor in the other class, "take over" with instructions like "they're doing kickbaord" or "have them do bla" They are not very organized. First day of class the instructor was 5 minutes late. After that the advanced class had multiple people take over. The intermediate class had a lot more consistency, but one of the days Alexis (she did a great job) had to ask the owners husband where her secondary was. She came out a few minutes later , while the class was sorta on hold Things I'm not sure on: The young kids aren't taught to rest float. I've liked other places teach this, in the case that the child knows how to swim but doesn't have energy to get back to shore, or the edge of a pool for whatever reason. I once almost drowned as a kid in a pool right in the middle, I had slowly but surely run out of energy and not noticed til I couldn't keep my head above water. My brother pushed me to the edge. That being said, the rest float is a hard position to get into, so I kinda understand why they don't teach it‍ Overall, i think my kids are stronger swimmers and I'd possibly come back next summer since I trust my kids and I'm keeping an eye the entire time. Its $35 for 30 minutes (so 8 classes comes out to $280) Alexis was very encouraging in the intermediate class and each of the intermediate instructors really pushed the kids, and encouraged them, which I really appreciated:) oh and one more thing, I loved that at the intermediate level, there are two instructors to 4 students!
