Let me start off by saying that in general I am all too often disappointed, so when i am pleasantly surprised I have a hard time yelling load enough in hopes that someone hears me. This is one of those places. Restaurant is spotless and lovely, location is superb. Coffee is insanely delicious, and in today's over-roasted world, it is a welcome surprise. Menu is perfect size. I had the cornbeef hash, even though its an Albanian spot and i was aware, but the asian upbringing doesn't allow me to pass on hash, but i added a side of the house specialty sausages, which are generically speaking a Cevap or Eastern European sausage. Both were outstanding, my only regret was there wasn't a few more in the order of 3. Eggs were perfectly cooked over-medium and the toast was equally wonderful. read more

This place has everything you could want from an upscale diner in terms of breakfast options, plus a range of sandwiches and other lunch fare... and a touch more. Sofra features some excellent homemade Albanian sausages. Be sure to get some -- and follow the advice of sprinkling a bit of the coarse salt and pepper flakes to make the flavor pop. There are a handful of other Mediterranean options, including Turkish coffee. Very friendly and helpful service. But be aware that the place closes at 2 pm, and they mean by 2 pm. read more

I took out breakfast from here on a Sunday morning. They don't have an online ordering. I tried to give a call, no one picked up. So I had to walk in and order. Order was ready in 10 minutes though. Black cherry crepe was my favorite. Black cherry was very sweet. Crepe was filled with sweet cream cheese. I also went for an Albanian skillet. It was flavorful. Their payment kiosk has ridiculous tip suggestion of 20% 25% and 30%. When these number appears on a take out order, the absurdity gets even worse. read more

Went here on a Sunday morning for brunch. We got there around 9:30, do right before the rush. That said, they seem to move people through very quickly as the food comes out fast. The staff was also very friendly and quick to help or answer any questions you had. As for the food, we ordered the Albanian omelet, the mediteranean omelet, and the special which was a mushroom omelet with sundried tomatoes, asparagus, and goat cheese. All were quite tasty! All omelets came with hash browns and toast. The hash browns could have been a little more crisp, but still had good flavor. We were more impressed by the toast as the wheat was a thick slice and more of a multigrain and the English muffins had an impressive even toast on them. Also, none were buttered, which was perfect for us! Overall, we were very impressed. The restaurant is a little loud and kind of small for seating, but again, they move people through pretty quickly. Only 4 stars for now because we really want to come back and try their lunch entrees. Hoping that this one will go up to 5 stars after that! read more

A great find for something familiar yet different! They have a general cafe/diner menu but with a Mediterranean flair. We started with the hummus appetizer which included THE FLUFFIEST PITA I've ever had. It had a little seasoning on it as well and I would've been happy just eating it plain but the hummus was also some of the tastiest I've come across. It had the perfect balance of garlic and lemon so it wasn't too "bitey". My cousin had a delicious gyro with tender meat with those crispy edges. And of course the pita again was top notch. I had a salad with more of that delicious gyro meat and a fantastic vinaigrette. The meat add on was only $3 and I took half home it was so plentiful. I am a sucker for soup and their soup of the day was chicken and rice which was my only disappointment. The soup was very floury like the roux wasn't fully cooked and 95% rice - not much flavor. I had to try the Albanian sausages which were cute little links served with a demonstration on how to eat them properly - sprinkle some sea salt and red pepper flakes onto a plate and dip the sausage in before eating. It was a fun cultural experience and tasty too! Great breakfast or lunch spot, we'll be back next time we're in the area! read more

If you're considering going here, DO IT!! Great service and felt like I was in Europe. Started out with Turkish coffee which is stronger than American coffee and naturally creamy and comes in a small cup. You drink it until you get to the grounds at the bottom and then stop. Highly recommend trying it. They also have American coffee with free refills. Also highly recommend the Albanian omelette. The homemade meat was amazing and comes with this homemade pepper spread on top with a side of hash browns (get these with cheese and onion on top). We also tried the eggs Benedict with hash browns. I was recommended this place by a coworker and came here with a few friends for brunch. It took a while to be seated since it was crowded on Sunday around 11:30ish, so plan accordingly! Once we were seated we were able to place our orders fairly quickly. Unfortunately I took a star off since it took us a very long time to get our food, I saw an entire table get their food and finish eating before one of my friends went in to ask about our food, and by the time it came out my skillet wasn't hot anymore. Sweet service but I think it was just because of how many people were there that day. Once we got our food everyone enjoyed it though. I got the Albanian skillet because I heard they were known for their Albanian sausage, and it's definitely for a good reason-- it was very flavorful and great in the skillet. Another brunch specialty restaurant I got to try in Wisconsin is Sofra Family Bistro. Its a medium-sized restaurant in the city if Middleton with a nice cozy, home-y feeling to it. I want to say that this place is family owned but I can always be wrong. Thats how I felt while dining at this restaurant. Servers were both very attentive and friendly. Though one of them was busy with the Christmas decorations, she was one of the sweetest servers I have met! I got myself an Egg Benedict with hash brown and my Boyfriend got Belgian Waffle with the 'Turtle' special which had pecan, chocolate chip and sliced banana. My Egg Benedict was pretty good. Nothing too fancy with plating or anything but the food was on point. I really liked the hollandaise sauce on top of my pouched egg and a thick slice of Canadian bacon added a great salty flavor to my egg bennie. My hash brown was just hash brown. With some ketchup, it had that flavor I was looking for. Boyfriend's Belgian Waffle was somewhat misleading. It wasnt Belgian Waffle. I had the real deal in Belgium last summer and I know what Belgium Waffles supposed to be like. This was not very close to Belgium Waffle. It was just American breakfast style waffles with pecan and chocolate chip. However, added pecans and chocolate chips elevated rather dull and boring waffle flavor and sweetness from sliced banana was an extra great flavor! Maple syrup was delicately sweet and I enjoyed it a lot. All in all, food is delicious, price is fair, service is amazing. I might have to come back before I go back home to Los Angeles! read more

Delicious and Great Service Sofra never disappoints. Breakfast items, Turkish coffee, Turkish tea and the crepes are delicious. Everything I have tried so far is delicious. The service is great as well, friendly, cozy and personalized. The Salmon Benedict is outstanding and for me, it strongly competes with the Albanian skillet which is unique. The Albanian sausage is a very unique delicious flavor. The eggs are always cooked to perfection. I have never had to send it back for being overcooked (and I have in some brunch places). I have not yet tried anything other than breakfast food. And then there are the crepes to finish everything off. They taste like homemade crepes I've had in Europe (that my mother made). Stuffed with outstanding creamy filling (you can taste the freshness) along with black cherries. They are not too thick or thin - and just the right amount of sweetness (I don't like overly sweet). The Turkish coffee is delicious and served with Turkish delight and the Turkish tea is great as well. They also accommodate special dietary requests well. Sofra is a solid place for brunch, especially if you are ordering some of their tasty, homemade Albanian sausage. I ordered the Albanian Sausage skillet with a side of rye bread (also delicious!). There's some lamb in the sausage, which has a very distinctive taste that I enjoyed; not every brunch you get to eat lamb! I tried some of their potatoes, which I was somewhat disappointed by. Not particularly flavorful or memorable. I felt that the price was fair, but somewhat on the higher side. Service was good and we barely waited any time at all before our food came out. On my second visit I ordered Eggs Benedict with hash browns. It was ok to good. I love Eggs Benedict! The hash browns were barely warm when delivered to my table and cold by the time I finished my Eggs Benedict. Probably should have said something to the waitress. One waitress covering the entire restaurant so service was just ok. I understand lack of staff these days. Didn't like the coughing sneezing customer with no mask! You will likely need to street park, but there is almost always something available. We (a group of 5) stopped in for Sunday brunch around 11am. Sofra looked really busy, but there is a whole section in the basement so we were seated right away. Maybe it's because we were in the basement, but the ambiance is nothing to really write home about. Banquet chairs with dated chair covers, and a few TVs. It's a family restaurant feel. The menu at Sofra (specifically breakfast) is great! There are a ton of savory and sweet breakfast entrees, and some of the entrees are Greek inspired! Everything from skillets, to omelets, to pancakes and even Dolmas! We didn't try them, but I did see gluten free pancakes on the menu. We tried the southwestern chicken skillet and the Mediterranean omelette. The portions were fair and the food was pretty good! Fairly traditional family restaurant quality. Nothing seemed super fresh but it hit the greasy brunch craving. Worth a stop in if you haven't been here before, but I probably wouldn't go out if the way! read more

If I had two words: Albanian sausage. This is truly an unassuming place with very friendly staff and fantastic food. I can only comment on the breakfast (Albanian sausage skillet, Albanian sausage sides...notice a pattern?), but the lunch offerings look great as well. The Turkish coffee is also fantastic and tops any I've had in the area. Bonus points if you put some salt and red pepper flakes in a dish and dip the sausage in them.
