We went here for Valentine's Day for dinner. The entrance was weird and the seating was odd. Its very small and the tables are close together. When I approached the hostess stand which is at the entrance of the kitchen and bathroom. You have to walk through the restaurant and figure out where/who the hostess is to get seated. We changed seatings a couple of times. It took some time for them to get our order. When the host came over he asked are you ready to order. We were trying to ask questions because it was not mentioned they were on a grand prixe fix menu. We ordered, the appetizers came right out but the drinks were received half way through us finishing our meal. They didn't check on us, we had to ask for someone to clear our table. When they did they brought out baklava but not the tea that came with the dessert. Overall the food was juaf okay not sure if we will come back..

I went in with a friend and we had a great time. There is a patio and indoor seating, while it was a sunny day, we opted to eat indoors since still a bit chilly. I would recommend making a reservation since there are a limited number of tables. Our server was great and was quick to take our order. The food menu has so many good items, but we settled on some apps to share. Everything was so delicious. The shrimp came out sizzling and hot. We also ordered a side of rice for the shrimp which was perfect. The falafel came with hummus on the bottom, so if you aren't looking for a ton of hummus, this would probably satiate your appetite. I would definitely go back and split several apps again.

Let me first say, this is a gem of a restaurant and perhaps a new favorite of mine and I am so grateful it's near my home. From the moment my friend and I walked into Sofra, we felt it was a warm welcoming atmosphere. It was cozy and felt like you were part of the family. My friend and I went at an off time for a late Sunday lunch which was a lovely time as it was not too busy. Our experience matched what their website so beautifully stated about the restaurant. It was an incredible experience for mind, body, soul and taste buds! We enjoyed EVERYTHING we ordered. It was marvelous. The menu is designed in such a way, it can be enjoyed as family style. When we looked over the menu, everything sounded incredible. The pictures were very alluring and had us wanting to try everything. We decided on the Shrimp and Garlic, Chicken Shish and Manti. The flavors were just incredible-- a marvelous balance as well. We loved each dish. The bread and Turkish tea were wonderful too. We ended our 2 hour dining experience with another round of Turkish tea and baklava (which is made fresh everyday). I will definitely be back with friends and family!

I wish I could have the signature beyti every day for dinner. I don't eat a ton of meat but this was outstanding! I was at dinner with a friend and despite some kind of disturbance outside, the wait staff never faltered and our water was always full. It's a super cute place on the smaller side, but has outdoor dining space for larger parties. Definitely looking forward to eating here again.

Stopped into this place after a trip to the zoo. We were looking for place to sit outside on this beautiful Friday afternoon and enjoy a glass of wine and a small snack. Sofra did not disappoint. We ordered the hummus and falafel. Both were delicious and loved the fried onions on top. Then enjoyed the baklava. Delicious Highly recommend!!

Such a cozy place to eat after going to the Smithsonian zoo! First off the service at this restaurant was top tier. The server was so attentive the moment I stepped into the restaurant-- constantly checking on me to make sure I'm enjoying my meal and had everything I needed. I got the Sofra Beyti which was absolutely delicious & I demolished it in 10 minutes. Then to top it all off they give you a complimentary tea at the end of your meal. Bonus points for having bidets in their restrooms.

Amazing find! We happened upon this place within one month of their open. We tried several of the appetizers. The owner shared it is locally sourced farm to table. Beautiful decor and friendly service. My favorite was the borek, but the hummus, cauliflower, and halloumi were all delicious.

Got to DC and was REALLY overwhelmed, but walked down the street to this spot after seeing pics of the food and menu online. If I could eat here every day that I'm here, I will. The drinks are amazing, the food is so fresh and doesn't sit heavy in your stomach, and even with short staff and quite a few people in the place, the ambiance is peaceful and allowed me to catch my breath and really enjoy the food and moment! The ruby cocktail is divine

It's a sexy basement vinyl den with additional outdoor seating, 10/10 unique cocktails, and incredible Japanese inspired small plates. Between two visits, we have tried 6 different drinks. They are named after songs and listed on the back of a fake vinyl cover. Each costs around $20, but with the mandatory tip and tax, it comes to around $26-28 per drink. The since I left you, though, is worth every penny. It is similar to an old fashioned but a little sweeter, with bourbon (makers mark), and while the menu says it also has miso, blackberry, cardamom, and cacao, I wouldn't say those flavors come through. But it is one of the best cocktails being served in DC right now. It is so good. They serve it with a cardamom tuile that is delicious as well. There is a lot of variety on here, but my number 2 is the Roses, a bright red gin based drink with a hint of fruitiness and a spicy kick in the back end. If you want something a little sweeter, the Takeover is a cognac based drink with coffee notes served with a mini donut. The food is exceptionally well seasoned and so flavorful. The fried chicken cannot be missed, and I love that you can get it in half or full size portions. The shrimp tempura might be even better. You get four large pieces that are super crisp and have a little orange sauce on them. Amazing. Our second visit we tried their chips and dip, and these potato chips alone are worth a visit. Large, crunchy, and served with a tasty ranch dip. I think 2 dishes is good for two people to fill you up, but add a third if hungry. The place is quite expensive, but they are worth it. For a date night, they are a great choice. Four drinks and three dishes shared between two people came to around $195, but as of this review, they are offering a $30 off deal if you pay through the app In Kind. Bonus points because the first time we came, they seated us maybe 5 minutes after our reservation time, and they gave us a free glass of cava. Top notch customer service right there

This bar is sweet -- awesome music, a neat menu, truly craft cocktails, and a unique menu. We tried several cocktails and each was delicious - from spicy to sweet, they don't miss. We also tried the cheese burger egg rolls and the tuna hand roll. The food is expensive for what you get but it's advertised to be small bites, not a meal. The egg rolls felt like remixed in n out, and as a Californian, I was grateful. Why not 5 stars? With the premium pricetag, I do expect premium service. The bartender was more interested in chatting with some folks he knew who came to sit at the bar. He also spent a lot of time chatting up the couple next to us, so do sit at the bar if you're feeling social. However, for the spare attention he did provide us, he was a bit condescending when we asked for a different glass for a drink that came in a bowl. It was slow until the very end of our stay and yet there were several times where I had an empty glass for a long period (and wanted to order more) or needed water. FYI for 6 drinks and a few bar bites it was $165... we went for a cheap burger dinner afterwards!
