Soft Swerve totally lives up to the hype. I came specifically for the ube soft serve, and it did not disappoint. I can't stop thinking about it!! It wasn't too sweet and the texture was perfectly silky. The staff was SO sweet. I forget her name but she was so good at offering advice and even let me try multiple other flavors. Give her a raise!! The shop is small and casual, but service was quick and friendly. Tons of topping options, but honestly the ube was so good I kept it simple to let the flavor shine. I will definitely be coming back to try more flavors!

Standard ice cream, the rockefelller center is definitely for the chocolate lovers!! The only real negative is how expensive it is. This was $9.50. I would be more comfortable paying $5.50.7ish before tax. The place itself is cute and clean. I would go back with friends since they have different flavors such as ube, but likely not regularly due to it's high price.
Probably the most authentic tasting Thai tea ice cream I've ever had. The tea flavor is very prominent in each bite and the orange color is vibrant. Not too sweet but just right. I like the blue and white aesthetic of the shop. I also enjoy the fact that you can sample the flavors beforehand.

Three white bar tables and 12 teal blue bar stools available for customers. Should be enough seating since I don't see as many people as the Flushing & Lower East Side locations. Ambiance is simple, similar to the other locations too with the signature sky blue-and-white walls. They sell both hand-scooped (hard) ice cream and soft serve of different Asian-inspired flavors like black sesame, Thai iced tea, matcha, ube, strawberry lychee, and Vietnamese coffee....just to name a few examples. They sell ice cream floats, in pints, and milkshakes as well. There're different toppings but will cost an extra 75¢ for each type of toppings and/or drizzles that you want. I just did an ube soft serve without any toppings in a cup because ice cream itself is already pretty expensive, not gonna let the price of toppings piling up for no reason by adding 2-3 types. Total comes out to be $8.17 alone. Not gonna have this often, but it's good to treat yourself once in a while. The ube is flavorful, has such a creamy texture, and doesn't taste too sweet. Definitely my kind of ice cream! Will come back next time I'm in Kips Bay.
soft swerve happened to be open during my visit in new york i liked that there were non dairy flavors also the service was good even being patient with a local who hasnt been here before the ambiance was a walk in ice cream scoopery i think the one thing that could have changed is if your friends come to visit that it doesnt distract your customers from enjoying their ice cream

Jamie W. and I were wrapping up a Manhattan weekender and on our way back to the hotel to pick up our bags. It was an unusually balmy afternoon... So something sweet sounded good to pick up our spirits before our long flight home.I was enthralled by the sight of exotic flavors like Strawberry Lychee, Almond Cookie, and Hong Kong Milk Tea. Jamie was just grateful there were familiar flavors like chocolate and vanilla available. Cups were $7 with a two-flavor twist option. Surprised me as I only came here since Cafe Panna was closed! But the Asian-inspired flavors are delicious, and they have both vegan (oat milk based) and normal ice cream! The "soft swerve" is dairy based, and they had hot chocolate, vanilla, ube, and Thai tea flavors. I ended up getting the ube and Thai tea swirl on a waffle cone, and it was delicious! The flavors are very potent, only downside is that it's quite pricy, $9.50! Would say it's nice for a special treat and definitely to share!
loved the matcha x ube soft serve swirl ($7.50)! both flavors were pretty strong and not too sweet. you could also go for their hand scooped ice cream instead which has more flavors. the employees were really friendly and offered us samples as well.

I really loved the Asian flavors, with my favorites being HK Milk Tea, Black Sesame and Taro... they seriously NAILED the flavors and it's all so nostalgic. I got the Ube soft serve and loved the texture. IMO a bit on the pricey side, but the portions are generous so you can share with a friend!
Soft swerve is just so much yes!!! The ube soft serve is insane and the lil mochi on top is everything. I'd like to try more flavors but the ube has me in a choke hold. This place is insanely overpriced for soft serve icecream and yet I'll still run back at the first opportunity

Solid soft serve spot. I got the vanilla and hot chocolate soft serve swirl, and it tasted great and was a good texture. It was quick getting the soft serve, but on the expensive side given the serving size. There was no line on a Thursday night about 30 minutes to closing. I didn't try the Thai iced tea ice cream, but I was told it was a bad texture (it was kinda icy). read more

Overall it was a great experience. They let you sample all the flavors and the store employees are really nice. I got the Ube and black sesame swirl. I wouldn't recommend getting the combo since you really can't taste the ube. The black sesame is too overpowering. read more

Came here for some soft serve on a weeknight. There are several different flavors, and their ube is by far the most popular. I got the vanilla, and added mochi bits to it. Ice cream - the ice cream texture wasn't my favorite, it leaned a bit more custard than light and fluffy soft serve. However the vanilla flavor was good! Mochi bits - by far the best part of the ice cream. I would come here again just for the mochi bits, would recommend anyone to get them with their ice cream. Portion size was also nice, but was a bit pricey. Probably wouldn't come back here unless I was really craving soft serve (or those mochi bits!) read more
I came here to try their Midtown Milkshake, which I had heard good things about, but the person behind the counter said he had never heard of it. Maybe they just have it at their other locations? No matter, honestly. I instead tried their black sesame soft serve, served in a cinnamon-flavored cone. It was delicious! The black sesame flavor is almost obnoxiously good, with a heavy-on-the-umami, savory+sweet flavor. It reminded me of the tahini ice cream (which makes sense!) at Shukette. The cone had a really subtle flavor -- just a hint of cinnamon. I liked it, and the red + gray made for a really pretty and unique presentation! read more

Went to the LES location when Soft Swerve was a bit new and I loved their "halo-halo". Lately, we go to the Kips bay location bec usually in the area. I love the smoothness and creaminess of the ice cream. Don't know how many calories but satisfying as a treat. Had vietnamese coffee-black sesame a while back and it was a good combo. This past week, had the ube-thai tea flavor, good too. Can taste both flavors. Serving was generous that my ice cream starting leaning to one side. $7 Can choose from a few sundaes (with toppings/drizzles at $8). My family had: The Rockefeller which had frozen hot chocolate with fudge drizzle and sprinkles - has rich chocolate taste. And Broadway which had ube ice cream with fruity pebbles and cereal marshmallow. It's a small place with some seating inside. Service is fast and courteous. read more

While we were visiting a friend in the city, he recommended that we check this place out. He raved on and on about how good the ice cream was and how it's more worth to get a double scoop than to get two individual single scoops (hint hint for anyone who wants to try multiple flavors). Their scoops are quite generous as well, they were almost like baseballs. Three of us shared this one cup and it was honestly the perfect size. The ice cream also holds its form for a bit before melting. They are a smaller shop, but the service was so warm and welcoming. The girls working offered us to sample as much as we wanted, granted there were only a handful of flavors. Their flavors are very much asian inspired, such as almond cookie, vietnamese coffee, and black sesame to name a few. The shop smells of deliciousness when you walk in, three is a warmth in the atmosphere even if the outdoors is cold. The night we went, it was on the chiller side as it had just rained, but ice cream tastes better when it's cold outside. There are multiple locations around the various boroughs and they also offer a soft serve option for some of the flavors. Highly recommend if visiting the city. read more
Service was great! Second time at soft swerve but first time at this location. The selection/unique flavors still great and loved the condensed milk topping as well as other topping options. I appreciate the generous portions but it's a bit of a health hazard and it was almost $10 for one scoop of ube soft serve with condensed milk and vanilla crumble and could easily serve two people. read more
Everything here was so delicious. Service was also great and super friendly. The associate took his time to answer my questions and yes I had a lot but he was so nice. We also sampled some flavors and my bf was in love with the hot chocolate ice cream. Serving was totally worth the price and they have some indoor seating too! Flavors switch off often so I'd recommend either checking online or giving them a call. Delicious!! Highly recommend!!! We tried a preset item and changed a few things. So glad I was able to finally stop by and try their famous soft serve! I'm so glad they offer a thai tea flavor, which is honestly one of my all time favorites! The store was pretty empty when my friend and I went on a weekend afternoon and service was quick and friendly. Toppings are extra but personally I don't even think the ice cream needs them - it was super smooth and creamy on its own and I savored every bite! The portion is pretty large and I actually split a cup with my friend. Overall the store is brightly lit and clean, although a bit small with about 3-4 tables for sitting. They offer several more interesting flavors and I'll definitely stop by to try them out if I'm ever in the area again! read more
Come here with some friends for some delicious ice cream and unique flavors! Food: this place has some really cool flavors like black sesame, Ube, and hot chocolate flavored ice cream! We sampled a few of them - and the black sesame and Ube were really good and different! (They are also very generous with samples). I ended up going for a simpler signature dish! I got the strawberry shortcake which is vanilla with star berry drizzle, vanilla wafers and fresh strawberries. They didn't have strawberries so we replaced it with mochi (a great trade in my opinion). I really enjoyed it and it ended up tasting like strawberry nesquixk milk at one point which was great! I would come back and order an ube or black sesame signature next time! Great service, no lines was in and out. Staff were friendly and pleasant. They allowed me to try a sample before purchasing. Good soft serve melts very fast. I tried the Ube purple yam and vanilla w. Soft serve. Asian flavors. What more could you possibly ask for? I read some reviews that said they stopped giving samples because of COVID, but they're back! We tried the ube and milk tea flavors; the ube is great (ended up getting it), but the milk tea sample, though it had a strong authentic tea flavor, it had just as strong of an aftertaste. I ended up getting an ube/matcha swirl with rainbow sprinkles. In general? Amazing. The ube was so. good. There are so many places that advertise ube-flavored things but there is never enough ube in it. Soft Swerve does ube right. My complaint is going to sound so weird, but here it is: this is lukewarm soft serve. It was cold enough to uphold its shape, but once you eat it, it's just slightly warm? Just warm enough to double take....but not warm enough that it was a huge hindrance to the entire experience, ya know? The matcha was also great, but it was overpowered by the ube. When I was able to taste it, though, I appreciated what it added to the cup. ALSO. My sister got the ube/matcha swirl with toasted coconut flakes, and that topping was truly excellent. If you're trying to decide on a topping, would highly recommend the toasted coconut! read more
I've only been to their Chinatown LES location a few times since their opening a few years ago and was happily surprised to see a location in Kips Bay. I'm a big fan of soft serve ice cream and after the hype about Ube a few years ago, I always think about it. I'm so glad there's a location closer to midtown. I got two flavors - the Ube and black sesame (can't see the latter since they had to put one swirl on top of the other) and mochi. Both were delicious and the flavor was on point. They have about 12 seats inside (3 tables of 4) and it was bright and clean. My friend and I were the only customers the time we were there. read more

Got soft serve Vietnamese coffee and it was so tasty! I came when there was no one either so it was nice to chill and eat ice cream with friends. However there was only one person working the entire store so it took some time for all of my friends to get their ice cream as well. read more
