    Black sesame ice cream
    Matthew W.

An unassuming ice cream shop in the East Village, Sundaes and Cones is perfect as an after-dinner treat. I love their variety and their Asian-flavored ice cream. Definitely try the black sesame, which was mild yet sweet. Priced well and there's a decent amount of space in the store if you want to linger (only a few tables, but lots of standing room). Staff is friendly and generous with samples. I'd love to come back to enjoy their other flavors.

The ice cream is rich and creamy! I got corn and black sesame. Anytime there is a black sesame dessert, I am running towards it! The shop was busy on a Thursday night, but we were able to grab seats. Friendly staff members, cute ambiance. Flavors you won't find anywhere else.

Absolutely obsessed with the aesthetic and delicious treats here! The exterior and interior of this store are so adorable - it is the cutest ice cream shop. I visited on a weekend evening, and it was very busy. The employees were super efficient and kept the lines moving along. I was impressed by the gorgeous cakes that were on display, with so many pastel colors and fun designs! There was a fair amount of seating, but we had to wait a bit to snag a table since there were so many customers. The store's range of ice cream flavors looked absolutely amazing. There was a mix of both classic flavors and creative, unique flavors (Thai tea and taro were both delicious options). The individual scoops of ice cream were honestly a bit pricey, but I thought their "build your sundae" option was super reasonable. You could get three scoops of ice cream sandwiched between banana halves with various toppings for an affordable price. My group of three people had a hard time finishing the sundae, so it was definitely the best option price-wise. It was also just so delicious, with rich ice cream and tons of toppings. I can't wait to come back and try more flavors!

Nice service. They let me sample quite a few different flavors (of which there are many.) They also have coffee and cakes. Not cheap for ice cream but I love the Asian-inspired flavors. Taro single scoop cup $6ish but worth it for a sweet treat! Not much seating but grab some and go!

I had the blackberry sorbet ice cream and it was the perfect refreshing treat for a hot summer day! The staff was patient while picking a flavor and was friendly in their professionalism. I def recommend this ice cream parlor

Matcha rose & black sesame well

Cute little ice cream shop close to Union Square in Manhattan. The flavors are all very unique. I ordered two scoops to share and it was the perfect amount for two people. We had the Matcha rose ice cream and black sesame ice cream. The black sesame ice cream is so rich and nutty, and you can taste the black sesame seeds in it as well. The texture of the black sesame was what stood out to me. Every scoop had little bits of ground up sesame which to me, tells me they use real ingredients. I really liked the taste overall. Would say it's a "must try" if you're a fan of sesame ice cream. The matcha rose was refreshing as well. I thought it complimented the black sesame well. There wasn't a bitter matcha taste but you do taste the matcha and rose flavor there. Staff was attentive and polite too! They let us taste test flavors without rushing us. (Bonus points because they give a good amount for tasting so you can really taste it!) The store also has some seating so if you wanted you, you could eat there. They also had some chairs outside too. I would come back to try other flavors if I'm in the area. Overall good experience!

cute ice cream shop tucked away in the middle of east village with such strooonngg ice cream flavors. My roomie and I both had the pistachio almond and loved it so much we almost got an entire pint of it. It wasn't too sweet, very creamy, and the best part were the pieces of almonds! Workers were great and very willing to offer samples. The portion sizes were very big, and at 6.50 for a single scoop in a cone, I would def come back.

Sundaes and Cones is a handcrafted ice cream spot in the East Village, offering a variety of interesting Asian-inspired flavors along with the rest of their extensive set of options. We stopped by to get a treat, so we went for the Banana, double scoop, in a cup. This was super delicious, creamy, and yummy - kind of reminded you of Korean banana milk and banana-flavored Runts; some ice crystals here and there, but overall, pretty enjoyable. Service was very kind and friendly! There's limited seating inside, and a couple of benches right outside of their storefront. +Banana ice cream +kind & friendly service

Stopped by for a quick treat after dinner. The inside is a bit dark/not the most well-kept, so I was a little put off at first, but I thought overall the ice cream was delicious, if not a bit pricey. I would highly recommend the green tea rose swirl - I love matcha, and it worked super well with the aromatic floral flavours of the rose mixed in. Like I said, price point is on the high side (~$10 for 2 scoops) but nothing too crazy for NYC nowadays. Wouldn't be too opposed to coming back again, they do have a wide range of pretty interesting flavour choices.

The pistachio is melt in your mouth good! Lots of yummy flavors, some of the creamiest ice cream you'll ever taste. Cute little store front with an array of flavors. Had to do a double scoop just for the heck of it. Fast, polite service. I recommend going in for your ice cream needs.

The Asian flavors here are quite unique and good-love that they allow samples! The black sesame, lavender, and hazelnut are notable callouts however would steer clear of the matcha rose swirl; it's more on the rose and less on the matcha earthy taste. As a small business they are pricey at $7.50 for a single scoop and $10 for a double. Worth the experience if you're in the neighborhood, but wouldn't recommend going out of your way for!

As soon as you walk in you are greeted by the most heavenly sweet smell. Such a nice large selection of ice cream flats and cookies. Everything was so fresh. Small areas for seating inside and a bench outside. I ordered three scoops: red velvet, strawberry cheesecake, and rum raisin. It all blended so well. Customer service which and friendly. Used Apple Pay as payment method. Enjoyed my time

It's the hottest day so far this year so I wanted to get some ice cream and tried this spot. Nothing special though. There were literally ice chips in my ice cream. I've have had better ice cream from the supermarket. Service eh. Not that friendly. One guy literally gave me a sample but then realized he gave me too many chocolate chips (which is what I wanted to taste) and I ended up with essentially vanilla.

My vegan friend appreciated that he could choose from multiple vegan flavors, not just be limited to the one and only offering, which is what most places usually have. Melon flavor was incredible. Tasted like frozen melon was crushed with ice and chopped into an ice/smoothie blend. Super refreshing. Very sweet, though. All flavors are very sweet, so a small portion can be shared and you will feel satisfied. I personally enjoyed their in-house special flavor of gelato: honey cream with crushed almonds, pistachios, and hazelnuts. That was bombastic! Love how nutty the consistency was. I love nuts, so this almost reminded me of a chunky peanut butter situation: just more fine grained and smooth, with gelato being the base. Highly recommend trying this flavor! Focacia was okay. A bit too dry and bland for my liking, but still decent. My favorite item was the pistachio bombolone which is officially now my favorite dessert. This was magnificent! The yeasty dough was so light and airy--perfectly light and balanced. The filling of pistachio cream was very delicate and not sweet at all, which was such a nice surprise. I do not like saccharine dessert. The fresh raspberry jam was a perfect balance to the pistachio cream. I never like jams in my desserts, but this was a perfect complement. Woooow, what a treat! Can't wait to return for it and to try more of their other flavors--hazelnut & chocolate, coconut, white chocolate, tiramisu. You could taste the superb quality of the ingredients. Highly recommend.

And this wasn't that either, but I now need to find a place for this near me. It was more like regular ice cream at a soft-serve consistency, topped with all the things-- that part was as expected. Hubs & I were thinking of getting two different things but we both wanted the mango madness, and then the checkout person said it was the size of a quart container. So just one then. I wish we got to see it being made up but it was full in there (at 10p, after the theaters let out), and they seated us and gave us a buzzer that went off almost immediately. We almost didn't finish it even between the two of us. Absolutely delicious, just overwhelmingly enormous. It could be a low-grade food challenge to complete it! And with all that fruit, actual mango chunks and a banana, it's practically a healthy snack. Gotta find one of these closer to home!

That walk alone is always a treat--Greenwich Village is charming, pedestrian-friendly, and full of outdoor dining and energy, especially on a September Saturday afternoon. I grabbed my gelato to-go and chose the amarena and hazelnut flavors, topped with the signature pistachio sauce.
