I left my CC to secure the appt. I received a text confirmation AND email confirmation as well as a form to fill out prior to the appointment as well as a note that cancellations less than 24 hours prior to appt would result in being charged for the cost of the appt. I have no issue with this. Today on March 3, less than one hour before my confirmed appointment I got a call from Gee Beauty explaining they needed to cancel the appointment, with no reason, couldn't offer a new rescheduled appointment, didn't offer an alternative time, or day and when I questioned why and how they can do this but charge their customers when they cancel- the person hung up on me. I called back twice and my calls went straight to voicemail. I left a voicemail- no reply, I then called later the same day and Sarah picked up, I explained the situation and asked about the poor service and she hung up on me. So AVOID GEE BEAUTY - a once amazing, customer centric family run business is now being run by a bunch of ignorant, deplorable, rude and entitled kids that hang up on clients. Take your $300 and spend it anywhere else for a facial. NO one deserves to be treated like that.

It took about three months since August for some over-plucked parts to fully come back. Pretty happy with the results and the natural shape, I wanted to take off a few stray hairs to get the eyebrows look more symmetrical and also to trim the top part in a way that looks clean and not over-groomed. I normally do this myself, but since I haven't had full-blown natural eyebrows in ages, I figured it'd be a great opportunity to go to a stylist and treat myself. I've had terrible experiences in the past when people would pluck the heck out of me for no good reason, so I was pretty hesitant to do this, and the fact that none of my girlfriends normally did it at a salon also didn't help. After checking a number of places in the neighborhood, I was blown away by the amazing reviews, the IG account of Eye Love Beauty, and more importantly the beautiful luscious eyebrows of their aestheticians. So I booked an appointment, thinking that with every single girl rocking bushy eyebrows these days, the worst thing that could happen to me would be just paying the money and leaving with almost no changes, which I would have been totally fine with to be honest. My appointment was with Rochelle, who was very friendly and attentive. She examined my eyebrows, listened to my preferences and confirmed them to make sure we are on the same page. She also suggested to take off a bit of hair at the bottom to open the eyes/define the arch, which I was happy with. She carried on, was fast and very gentle. When she was done and handed me the mirror to check out the results, you could only imagine my surprise as I saw two skinny flat tasteless eyebrows from the 2000s on my face with half of the width gone, including good 3 mm from the top, and the arch was no longer there. I was completely stumped as I realized there was nothing that could be done at that point. So I mumbled something about the top of the eyebrows. Rochelle suggested that it wasn't as dense as the middle part, which is absolutely true by the way - my eyebrows are not perfect, but they are definitely much thicker than most of the average ones, and with a bit of filling they always look extremely voluminous. At this point I could only assume either the majority of their clients have perfect model eyebrows, the staff was trained on such eyebrows, or it was simply not my day. I felt extremely bad, but I didn't want to make a scene or argue - Rochelle was very kind throughout the whole session, there was nothing to be done at that point for the hair to magically grow back, and I was rushing back to work. So I just paid and left. I hate to be the person to leave this as an online comment rather than in-person feedback, but I honestly don't know what I should have done differently, since we both seemed to be on the same page, and I am not the type of person to interrupt an expert to check every two minutes on their work. I liked Rochelle a lot and wouldn't mind coming back if I knew I would be getting what I want. I just want to cry in a corner and shave this shame off. It will take me three months to grow back the hair, with the ugly stumps sticking out, and I cannot even properly conceal this with a pencil/shadow, since it looks absolutely ridiculous in this spot. The dumbest part is I don't have anyone else to blame for this but myself. So if you are someone like me, having beautiful eyebrows and contemplating about saving time shaping them yourself, please don't repeat my mistakes, set aside two hours and do it yourself. No one knows your face better than you, and not even the best stylist can read your mind. Or if you decide to give it a try, maybe ask a stylist to fill in the final desired shape before they start tweezing.

If this was my first time, then I wouldn't have any expectations but it isn't so I am quite disappointed with the results. First of all, Tho is professional and she knows her stuffs, she is very focused when she does the strokes, and she explains the procedures very well. I have followed her IG for a long time (and also other artists) and I found that her work has the best details, and at the same time she totally understands that each person's facial characteristics are distinct and you cannot just have one fit for all. She takes her time to make sure that the shape you are going for is the one that's most suitable for you, not just "stamping" the most popular shape on your face regardless if it works on you or not (which I have observed in some other artists' work....unfortunately). Secondly, Tho has a fun and warm personality that just makes the whole experience easy, and that's pretty important for first timers. Out of all the extension places I've tried (more than a dozen in the GTA), Tokyo Beauty Studio is the ONLY place I've come back to. I've been coming to them for a couple years now; Whenever I go on vacation and don't want to deal with the hassle of falsies/mascara, you can find me here. There are different technicians, but everyone is excellent. They're perfectionists and meticulous. I can tell them what I'm looking for - and they'll definitely deliver. Unlike other eyelash extension places, they always understand what I want before putting lashes on me. Best of all, these lashes LAST. The full look lasts around 3 weeks for me (Which is a miracle. Admittedly I do rub my eyes, use cleansing oil, the whole shebam.) I don't want a "I bought $1 falsies from eBay and stacked them on my eye" look. I want a "damn, she must have some next level genes to have lashes like that" look. Tokyo Beauty Studio absolutely delivers. I would strongly recommend this studio!
