I took my vehicle in because my exhaust system was no longer quiet and wanted an inspection. I was told my vehicle required 2 new resonators and agreed to have the repair performed, however when I went to pick up my vehicle the SERVICE ENGINE SOON light was NOW on. I called and told them of the problem and was asked to bring it back the following morning which I did. I received a call phone from the business staing18 codes were revealed during the diagnostic, something they should have known prior to calling me the day before saying my vehicle was repaired and was told the service engine soon light was probably due to carbon build up from the welding that was performed and should go away after driving it for a bit. I immediately took my car elsewhere to have a diagnostic performed and it revealed that the oxygen sensor had failed (the technician at Mr. Muffler stated he had cleaned the oxygen sensor but in reality, damaged it). I am disappointed that given the opportunity to demonstrate some degree of integrity they did NOTHING to resolve the issue they created. I then had to take my vehicle in for service at a very reputable service center and have the problem resolved, which is what I should done initially. I surely will not make that mistake again. Having been a long-term customer, I am very, very disappointed.

Because of oncoming traffic, I could not swerve, or because of the car behind me- stop safely. I hit it and heard the crunching tearing sound. Mercifully, the car behind me stopped. I had to back out to get this giant chunk out of the bottom of my car. In the moment I should've pulled over, but I asked Siri for the closest repair shop. This was Steve and Jerry's. At this point I prayed for help. I was petrified. I spoke to a sweet woman who said she was going to go chat with her son in law. My car died a minute from their shop. He chatted with me briefly and said he would be right over. He walked over in the rain. As he looked- his expression was grim. It seems this chunk tore the radiator and compressor, and he wasn't sure about the engine. The cars check engine light was on. My tow driver towed it over. He had a longer look and came in to chat with me. This was pretty massive. He felt it needed to go to the dealer, and told me to file an insurance claim. I started the process in the waiting area and soon I had a plan in place. Not only did the technician offer to drive me back to my home (I had a friend coming), but his mom in law kept the store open until my friend arrived, keeping me warm instead of standing out in the cold. I did request to pay for the detailed assessment, and I did so. Can you say over and above? I don't know many places that would do this. Even though the damage was beyond their means (because it was pretty catastrophic needing a dealer's help), they still made sure I wasn't left literally out in the cold. I can just imagine how their regular customers are treated, I was new to them! The office Goddess informed me they'd been around for 54 years. I can certainly see why. Her husband took great pride in his service (he's been departed a decade or so) and the business remains in their family. What great, kind people I ran into today. I would recommend this business wholeheartedly. On a cold, rainy, horribly gone wrong and not so funny April Fool's Day- I met a couple angels that gave me hope. My son took the car back and they said there was nothing they could do. I called the company to talk to the owner, Nick Brunner and he said I was a scammer and was extremely rude to me on the phone. I explained that my son had just taken my car in for a brake job and that the handle to the door was broken. He went on to scream at me that the handle was already broken and there was nothing they could do. My son did tell them that part of the handle was broken, but they broke the other part. He refused to listen to me. They said there was nothing they were going to do about the broken handle which they broke. His company is denying any wrongdoing. Additionally, the brake light was still on in his car so the company just disengaged the brake sensor. I would never ever use this company again. I had contacted the Better Business Bureau and Nick Brunner did not respond. Attached is the letter that I received from the Better Business Bureau.

Other shops wanted to charge us for diagnostics when we already knew what the issue was. Nick was very friendly and confident in his abilities to fix any issue. Another shop corrected what WHAR neglected to do. Never again am I setting my foot in this shop and don't recommend it to anyone. I guess this shop knows how to take advantage of an elderly woman. UPDATE: four months ago (May 2025), this very shop did some work on my car and requested a positive review. I said OK but am unable to post it since I reviewed before and Google won't let me do it again. The shop then sent a link to my phone and I was able to post a positive review from a different gmail address. I am buffled how WHAR even knew my another gmail that I never told them about, and what else they know about me, and how they are going to use this knowledge. There have even been times when I brought a vehicle in for something simple, like replacing a headlight bulb, and they didn't charge me for the labor. More importantly, Dan has been willing to tell me when something isn't worth fixing like when a part might make a little noise but is otherwise perfectly fine, and replacing it just to eliminate a squeak wouldn't be worth the money.
