The service was absolutely terrible. Very slow and at least they finally admitted that they could not handle the influx of service needed by how many units they had sold. I cannot say how horrible our experience with them was. I hope to never have to deal with them again. We bought a brand new trailer in January and it's now December and we've been able to use it for a total of 5 and 1/2 weeks because there's so much wrong with it and because it took them 8 weeks to get it ready for us to do the initial walkthrough. read more

We bought a new camper from another dealer and they locked the keys inside the unit for delivery so we couldn't get in. Delivery driver did not have the keys. Our dealer called Meyer's of Madison and Meyer's of Madison let us borrow their master key so we could get in our unit. They went above and beyond to ensure that our rig was in complete working condition when we left and took it down the road. Cody was very thorough and extremely detailed in explaining all of the processes to us, and teaching us about the intricacies of the solar package and all other amenities of the coach. We had left NYS and stayed at Love's across the street when we noticed a noise on one of our axels. My husband called Meyer's and they said to bring it over and they would try and help us out. The service Advisor, David Hosford explained that there would be a bit of a wait as the service techs were busy. We completely understood as this was a Saturday and they were squeezing us in. David kept us up to date on when someone might be available. Cody Arnold finished up with his customer and came over to our camper. Cody was amazing! He knew right away what was wrong. My husband explained maintenance that we had done prior to leaving for this trip. Cody said that this problem should never have happened. He took pictures and documented everything he did so we could show the dealer back home. We left Meyer's confident that we could safely continue on our trip to Indiana - Kentucky - Home to NYS. Service (specifically the Service Manager Chuck) - was the worst experience we have ever encountered with a Dealer after just spending $70,000. It started when I was awaiting delivery and I asked for a Dryer Vent to be purchased and installed (which never happened). When we showed up for delivery they blamed us for not getting back to them when actually I worked with my sales associate who passed along my preferences. Second issue - I tried to order a Washer/Dryer through my Dealer voicing a price of a competitor and please tell me how close they could come to meeting the price and install. After 3 days of no contact after leaving voice mails, I was forced to purchase through a competitor at 45% less due to a timeline commitment. FYI - The identical model at my dealer was $2300 compared to $1600 at a competitor (Appliance only, no installation costs quoted). When I called Meyers at Madison and talked to Chuck (Service manager) and explained my problems and asked for them to install the original part (Dryer vent) and washer/dryer, I was denied because I didn't buy the part through them even though it's the identical part still in the box AND I tried to buy it from them. He didn't admit to any fault in his team making mistakes, and in no way wanted to come to a win/win for both of us. I wish I had read the many reviews prior to purchasing at Meyer's since there are plenty of other dealers around with a Service center that doesn't have such bad reviews. read more

While camping, another RV driver hit one of our slides. After contacting his insurance company, I called Mentor RV (Madison) to see if they could handle the repair. They were great. I sent them photos of the damage and they promptly ordered replacement parts/trim. When I was able to drop it off, they quoted me a completion date and actually finished it ahead of schedule. While there I also had them perform some additional service. All aspects of the job were excellent, from the customer contact through the actual repair and service work. They lack tremendously in the communication department and management doesn't seem to care. This is not a complaint against the sales rep we were working with but the poor management. - Stopped in Monday 8/15 , found a camper we liked, talked with finance, placed a deposit and was told they'd run the credit details next day. They said congrats and said things should be ready for delivery that Friday, 8/19. -Tuesday 8/16 - I received a notification that my credit history had been pulled. I thought, great, they're already working on it. -Wednesday 8/17 - I talk with my sales rep to let her know we got a truck to do a pick up , rather than a delivery. She tells me they are still working with the lender and she would follow back up. Thursday 8/18- I contact my sales rep, she is out of the office but says she will keep me posted. We were in town so we stopped in to talk with the finance manager to see what the status was and if an increased down payment would help things. He said he can't get the lenders to call him back , but yes, an increase in a down payment would help. So we add an additional $2000 to our down payment. At this point I have decided to just let the process play out. Tuesday 8/23 - I have heard nothing from finance or my rep so I requested a refund. My rep reaches back out and had experienced a loss in her family. I 100% sympathize with her and tell her I don't feel this is a reflection of her, but her leadership. They should be helping pick up the pieces in cases like this, or her co workers at the very least, but I heard nothing. She says she will have her manager reach out to me the next day. Wednesday 8/24 - I get a notification that they have started pulling my history again. No calls from finance or management regarding my refund. This was ultimately a huge waste of our time and has left me not even wanting to start this process again somewhere else. The do not excel in communication here. The little bit of communication I got, felt like BS anyway. BEWARE! Don't waste your time!! We did end up getting our deposit back but Jim who called us didn't care to even hear what the problem was. I took my trailer in for repairs on the suspension. The work ended up being much more involved than the original estimate. The parts required also were more expensive. The bottom line is that the service department continued until the problem was solved and my bill stayed the same as the original estimate. read more

First off, if you care about your credit card information do not give it to them! They write it down including the CVV number along with your name, address and phone number on a piece of paper and keep it. If you rent from them, and do give this information make sure you take the rental contract from the RV because it might be left in there when they "clean out" the RV! We rented an RV from Mentor RV for a little under two weeks. They were aware that we were traveling from out of town and would have three people traveling. When we arrived, we noticed that the unit did not have a rear seat belt. Against better judgment, having driven four hours, and the excitement to start our RV adventure, we continued with the rental. While moving into the RV, we notice some dirt in the bathroom and what looked like maybe mouse droppings. Also while moving in, we had to remove a bunch of stuff that was left in the cabinets. A large kitchen garbage bag worth of spices and other stuff. When we got on the highway we noticed that our son was bouncing all over in the back. The TV came flying out of the wall at one point and I went back to try to put it back up. At this point I noticed how bad the RV was bouncing in the rear. I tried to adjust the air ride suspension, but both sides had no air. When we got to our first destination we noticed more mouse droppings in the bathroom as well as behind two other seats. This would occur every time we travelled. Although we did not catch or see other evidence of the mouse, the droppings seemed to be falling from the ceiling. On our second stop my wife stopped at a car wash to vacuum the interior and it looked 100x cleaner than when we first picked it up. The RV also has a spot in the floor that feels like it is about to fall through. The backup camera does not work, and we were told that the leveling jacks did not work and that we would not need to use them anyways. The TV does not work, and they might as well take it out because with the broken air ride suspension the TV is constantly swinging out of its storage spot. (False, impossible to get tanks to empty and hard sleeping in a jackknifes sofa on an incline in an RV Park!). We ended up with a tear in the side wall. We own this, as it is possible that we ran up on a curb, but who knows, maybe it split from all the bouncing? They took $295 out of our deposit for a $130 retail tire. Glad it did not have more expensive tires that most RV owners would put on, but then again maybe brand new tires would not have ripped. This was on top of the $100 we paid to have the spare put on. I understand mounting and balancing, but $160 for that seems high, especially when they probably get a discount as a dealer/service center. read more

The salesman lied to us about the history of our used Trailmanor. Although less than a year old, the camper leaked and other things like the antenna did not work. We drove 300 miles back to the dealership after experiencing problems the first time we went camping. They said they fixed most of the problems including the leak but couldn't fix the antenna. Surprise! Next time we went camping it leaked again in exactly the same spot. The people at the dealership appear to be genuine , but are not honest or trustworthy. read more

Be very cautious get everything in writing. Follow the saying if it sounds too good to be true it probably is well if you get an estimate and it sounds to high and there are too many things wrong with your camper it probably is not true. We took our camper for a winter tune up to correct some issues we noticed over the summer. I could have pretty much bought a new camper with what they wanted to charge. Oh and by the way we took it to THREE other camper repair shops all with varying prices but pretty close in price and no where near Mentor and one major item that Mentor said was wrong with an 8,000 price tag, not one other shop found an issue with it. (Yes 8,000) i am not sure if they operate as auto repair shops do that the mechanic gets a percentage of the cost of repair but if they do they need to rethink it. I am not the only disgruntled camper in our park we live very close to Mentor RV so for many of us it was a natural decision to buy from them. We all wanted to stay local and for new sales they are great but remember that's not their bread and butter the real money comes from their service department. Four out of ten campers in out park are from Mentor however as we all get newer versions not one of us has gone back to Mentor. My wife and I will be upgrading our camper in a few years and will not even step into Mentor to purchase a new hot water tank heating element. We hope someone at Mentor RV takes note and corrects the issues. read more

Ever wonder if a deal is too good to be true? It probably is. Be sure to get everything in writing. A verbal conversation means nothing to the sales manager. It is pretty easy to tell when he is lying. His lips are moving. We had a verbal agreement to provide a trailer with a WDH that I had stated I wanted. Justin decided to change it to what he wanted to sell. Even though I had stated in an email the hitch that I wanted, he stated they were the same. When I sent links to what I wanted vs what he supplied, all conversations stopped. I am not looking forward to bringing in my RV for any warranty work. my first time buying!!Terriable!The salesman lied to us about the used trail cruiser,I told the salesperson that the floor is soft and spongy, He says yes it is and we are gonna have that fixed and ready for you by the time it gets delivered to your camp ground which took another week and half.As the weekends come and go the floor is getting worse and we found major leaks and the wood flooring began to welt and stick up from the floor. So we went to replace the floor and it just got worse,from the refridge and back to the bathroom and under the shower WAS BLACK MOLD everywhere,and to mention the delivery guy bent the jacks under the trailer because he seemed he didnt know what he was doing he blamed the truck for not being a 4x4 i will not ever recommend this company to anyone.To bad money is more important than their customer satisfaction.They told me you bought it as is nothing we can do about it.We have not even had the trailer 90 days yet!!I hope this helps the next person buying from here BE CAREFUL OF MENTOR RV they are not reliable on their word. read more
