Recommend anything outside of the butter chicken. Very bland...
    Taylor B.

Food isn't even that bad, and it's conveniently located in downtown DC around a lot of offices. The convenience comes with a price of overpriced food and a woman watching you to make sure you pay for everything. They really care about money, less about customer service and that's extremely apparent. Certain dishes are better than others, and the overall quality isn't amazing. If you can go elsewhere, I would.

The buffet offers a good variety, but can be a bit pricey and the flavors aren't out of this world. The star of the place is the My Kup stall in the back which offers generous and fresh portions of Korean-ish dishes. I tried their 3 proteins bowl - shrimp, grilled chicken, and bulgogi- with fried rice and a ton of veggies and kimchi. They include a couple of fried veggie mandu (dumplings) with each order. The sauces included were really good. The server took great care to put together my bowl. My order was delicious and I was happily surprised with the generous portion for the affordable price. There's plenty of seating in the restaurant.

Amazing buffet with a huge selection and delicious offerings! I only planned on checking them out today, but I couldn't resist and ended up getting several items from the hot bar! The bourbon chicken and orange chicken were great! They also make sandwiches to order. They have plenty of seating, which is nice. It's located right off of Franklin Park. I definitely recommend them for lunch!

The food is was good but i was a bit cold but everything had decent flavor and the service was decent and they had a wide selection overall it is pretty mid and it was expensive

I'm surprised that this place has such low reviews. I had walked by it a few times before finally deciding to stop in for the breakfast buffet. The place looked super clean. The checkout line moved quickly. And the food itself was of decent quality (with both healthy and not-so-healthy options). I'd recommend most everything you see pictures on my plate EXCEPT the home fries, which were slightly undercooked and this mushy inside. But for $11 or so, I was pleased with my meal overall. I also found myself wishing that an outpost like this would open in the renovating Walter Reed site. I like being able to go into one place that offers a variety of food options, at a decent price, and at grab-and-go speeds.

    Options galore. Salad, yum.

Great quick spot for lunch in downtown, just below the Washington Post. Lots of islands and options for food, whether you like salads, fresh fruit, prepared cold or hot dishes, meat or veggies, deli sandwiches, sushi, or Mongolian grill. They've got it all here. Pick what you want and bring it up to one of the pay stations to be weighed. Best part is you can get a big, tasty, filling lunch for under $10.

Four orange chicken nuggets and one scoop of rice- $4.20.

Soho is your utility player lunch spot. It has a hot food bar. It has a salad bar. It has a sushi bar and a sandwich shop. It sells every kind of soda, water, and organic iced tea. It even sells lightly sweetened Korean rice rollers. It has everything you'd ever want and centrally located in the heart of downtown DC. Despite having it all, the price tags just don't make this a good lunch option. The bar food they weigh and charge you by the weight. I got one scoop of fried rice and four little orange chicken chunks and it was $5! If you're in a rush and this is the quickest lunch spot, come right in. However, if you want to save some money I recommend heading to nearby G Street Foods or Buredo.

On-the-spot Mongolian wok. $10.99 for as much as you can pile onto the bowl!

I tried to stop in for lunch around 11:50 am today (5/24/2017) and there were signs up saying that they were temporarily closed. All the food was out but no one was around. What was the reasoning behind the closure?

Hi, Christy. Soho closed down for 48 hours due to violating DC health code, but they are back in business starting today. Hope this helps!

I wasn't anticipating a nice dining room to dine in, but there it was so we did. Although it was uncomfortably warm in there. Must have been something wrong with their A/C because they couldn't possibly always have it so warm, especially in the middle of summer. I ordered The Clevelander and she had The Mel. And of course we hit their awesome pickle bar! Why doesn't every deli in the universe have a pickle bar?! The sandwiches are piled high with meat and so delicious. Several complaints about mine, however: the menu said it comes with mayo and provolone. It came out with no spread at all so I was brought mayo packets to apply myself, which is way less than ideal with a huge already assembled sandwich. And the brand new server (on her second day there) came back after we ordered and asked if I wanted cheese. I mentioned I thought it listed a cheese on the menu, which she confirmed. But then I ended up getting charged extra for the cheese that my sandwich was supposed to come with. Kind of lame. And while my friend was asked if she wanted hers toasted, I was not. I didn't think twice about it until mine came out toasted, which I neither asked for or wanted. Lastly, the sandwich was also supposed to come with "fresh cranberry spread" and if there was any on my sandwich, it wasn't detectable. But I decided not to even mention it because I didn't want to deconstruct my sandwich a second time. Regardless of these hiccups, I would certainly consider returning.

I heard good things about their sandwiches. My go to is normally Mangialardo's on Pennsylvania Ave in SE DC or Carl's Subbs on Rhode Island Ave in NE DC. I think I will stick to both of them next time. The staff was very friendly and helpful to me as a first timer but the sandwich was totally disapointing! NOT worth it, at all. I ordered a 9 inch capicola, ham, and cheese sub on the hard roll. The roll was very good and fresh but I couldn't taste the cheese or meat in the sandwich because there wasn't enough of it. I tasted the bread, the toppings of lettuce, tomato and onions. I decided to deconstruct the sandwich and found exactly 4 very thinly sliced pieces of meat and 2 very thinly sliced pieces of cheese as pictured clearly in the photographs. I also noticed that the they have different prices for the same type of meats. For example, they have a $29.99 per pound Capicola and one for $9.99 a pound. I asked which went on the sandwich and of course it was the cheaper one. That wasn't surprising and getting my sandwich back to the office. I decided not to eat the rest of the meatless sandwich and just take the loss. I wouldn't come back nor would I recommend a friend to try it

This little store on Columbia Pike functions as a German specialty grocer, deli and sandwich counter. Our focus today was the sandwich counter. One important thing to know is there is no seating of any kind. You will be taking your sandwiches to go. (My suggestion: get a few slices of butter kaese at the deli counter and munch on these on the car ride home. Then enjoy your sandwiches in peace at your abode.) They do offer napkins and plastic silverware if needed. The sandwiches are freshly made to order. You take a number and a deli employee will assist you. They have numerous types of bratwurst to choose from. Additionally a number of German cold cuts. We ordered a Nurnberger bratwurst and the Tyrolean hot sandwich. The breads for both were very fresh and the sandwiches tasty. The mustard on the bratwurst was full of good horseradish! The Tyrolean was moist with a good combination of tender meat and sauce. The bread was a nice mild rye - it was a two hander sandwich! We were both full having eaten these delicious sandwiches. The deli employees were all friendly and efficient. Prices were very reasonable. We would definitely return.

Hi everyone, just wanted to leave a review of German Gourmet on Columbia Pike…read more Before I begin, I want to identify what the ingredients are for a classic Reuben. You'll need two slices of seeded or marble rye bread, about six ounces of thinly sliced corned beef or pastrami, two slices of sharp Swiss cheese, roughly a quarter cup of well-drained sauerkraut, and two tablespoons of Russian or Thousand Island dressing. A little butter for toasting the bread and optional spicy brown mustard round it out. That said, what I actually received was the absolute worst Reuben I've ever had in my entire life. They used ham instead of corned beef or pastrami, an insult to the name. The Swiss was bland and low-quality, not sharp at all. There was no mustard, barely any Thousand Island, and I couldn't even detect any sauerkraut. The bread wasn't toasted, and they still charged me $12.50 with tax. If this is what passes for a Reuben at a supposed German delicatessen, save your money and go somewhere that actually knows what they're doing.
