This little whole in the wall sandwich shop kicks out some great salads and sandwiches. Only enough seating for around 12 people but it has a spotless bathroom. Most of their cuts are Boar's Head brand so it's good quality meats compared to a lot of other places. Korean owned and the service is great.

Honestly disappointed with the cafe. I ordered a Greek salad and to be honest it was an overpriced basic garden salad with feta cheese. The restaurant itself is a cute little cafe with mix and max chairs and picnic table seating inside. Service is quick and they are nice, but the food so far is disappointing to say the least.

Lox bagel on everything bagel with red onion, capers, tomato and cream cheese

It was a very nasty Wednesday morning and we needed a quick breakfast and coffee before we begin our ride back home to Chesapeake. Hubby and I both ordered a lox bagel with everything (capers, red onion, cream cheese, & tomato) on everything bagel. It was delish!! We both had their house coffee. Our son chose a muffin and Pellegrino water. We also purchased a bear claw and a pack of chocolate chip cookies for the road home. I needed to use the restroom which was required a key code so the nice lady came and unlocked one. She was so sweet. This whole Korean family that owned the store was super sweet. I wish we were staying longer so I could come back and get a lunch sandwich, they looked amazing from the menu. Great place to he's. Something quick and yummy! Clean sink fares and bathroom. Plenty of tables and chairs.

West wing Cafe has been a staple in my mornings the past week while working in DC. From a great drink selection to solid and hearty sausage egg & cheeses, this place has a lot to offer. The staff are nice and quick to take your order, which would be super helpful if they were packed, but unfortunately this somewhat newer place is not getting the traffic they deserve, which may be due to marketing, because the location could not be much better. Just off of Pennsylvania Avenue next to the Waldorf and a quarter mile from Smithsonian row, it's a great spot that many people walk by daily. It is a bit dark and signage isn't incredible as it took me 2 days to see it, but the second you take a bite you forget all that. Lunch selection looks tasty as hell, I think with some more business this place has a good shot of keeping open for a long time.

I couldn't believe that there was no line when I came for lunch at 12:15, given all the government workers in the area. The panini I had with red peppers and mozzarella was *chefs kiss* and it's the best salad within several blocks, trust me.

We just happened upon this little place on our walk to the Smithsonian today. What a little gem! I was always told that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and if I learned anything from my mom, she was right about this 100% for me! Of course she was right about so much more, but we are talking food here! Anyway ... I'm a pretty big fan of McDonald's sausage, egg, and cheese sandwiches, so I figured I'd try the equivalent here. It was like a SEC but amped up to a much higher level! They used two fresh eggs that I watched them fry, the sausage was tasty, and the muffin was toasted well. Hubs had the same but with ham instead of sausage. The ham was piled to a nice thickness. Pros: fast, fresh, and friendly Cons: the atmosphere was a little crowded and outdated Overall a great, affordable place for a quick breakfast.

Overpriced, not impressed. We ate at TBSP the day prior, the cafe had great atmosphere and great sandwiches to boot aswell. West Wing was dead, sandwiches cost more and no combo price.

Breakfast mostly but also some lunch menu items. It makes a good stop before visiting Ford's Theater if you're going on a tour in the morning. West Wing Cafe is mostly forgettable food, nothing special. More of an on the go in a hurry. They do have a few tables. Having a name like this is confusing. It sounds like this is in the White House. This is not actually in the West Wing. It's not at all in the White House. This is not even close to it. It's actually to the east. This is actually closer to the East Wing. Anyway, the food. It has coffee and bagels, among breakfast items. The regular coffee is bland and watery. It's about $3 for a medium. The bagels are better thankfully. It's about $2 for a bagel. They have spreads like cream cheese or peanut butter. You can also get a breakfast sandwich. It seems the best time to come is breakfast. Prices are better for breakfast items. The lunch paninis are way too expensive though.

Good fresh sandwich. A bit small for the price but probably within range given the location.

    #10 veggie panini
    Aarti B.

Little deli tucked on 12th and Pennsylvania Avenue with nice hot subs albeit a little pricey. The #10 Veggie Panini was like a small caprese sandwich with slices of fresh mozzarella cheese, spinach, tomatoes stuffed between generous spread of fresh pesto and warm ciabatta bread. Where were the roasted red peppers? Oh well, the sandwich was tasty and didn't miss them too much. For $10, it was a bummer that potato chips or a small side salad/fruit didn't come with the small sub. I paid $1.75 for potato chips and $2.50 for a bottle of water. Really expensive! It was hard to justify paying $15 for a sandwich, chips, and water. Would come back if the lunch combo extended to all the panini sandwiches. Wish there were more delis and cafes in the city that made paninis!

    Meat the New Yorker.

Having never seen the TV show, "The West Wing," I unfortunately cannot inform you as to whether this cafe is accurate or not. However, I will tell you that they do produce a solid sandwich in the Districts of Columbia. Portion-wise, they're as they look - the size of a square piece of bread. However, they do pack a decent amount of meat, much to the delight of a meat-man like myself. Please do not read into that any more than as is stated. The best part about West Wing Cafe (WWC) is the speed at which your sandwich is created. I kid you not, they made my sandwich faster than I could properly address #2 in their bath of rooms. Now that may be a lot of information, but nevertheless, it is an appropriate gauge of their speed. I would like WWC more as a quick-eat, where you stop by to grab something to go and need not linger and waste your precious time. Sure, they have tables where you can sit, but their pace and vibe they give off is just much more of a grab-n-go place. Having tried both their Reuben and their New Yorker, they are equally as good. I would have to give the slight nod to the Reuben as I'm a sucker for that sour sauerkraut, which balances out the succulence and richness of the melted swiss cheese and russian dressing (no collusion here!) a lot better than the coleslaw that comes on the New Yorker. A personal preference, but I definitely think it balances out better. Another speciality for them is their use of Boar's Head meats and cheeses. Quality meats and cheeses? Hael yes. I'm all about quality. Keep in mind that it does make the price slightly higher than I would think for an equivalent sandwich elsewhere. Then again, it is downtown D.C. so maybe the prices aren't that much higher than other sandwich places (keep in mind you don't get any side/fries/pickles with your $9-10 sandwich). TL;DR: Perfect place for a quick bite or a to-go sandwich. Take your pick between the March for Life or the Women's March, but this is one stop I'd make if you were hungry and marching. Just bring it to go so you can march to your hearts delight.

So was the overhead music. Guess I expected a more authentic Korean experience, but the place was more or less an Americanized Korean bistro. Still, the foods seemed authentic! We ordered a few things to share... Mandu, Dolsot Bibimbap, and this Ssam Board. For drinks, my husband got some beer (?), and I got this fruity cocktail (??). First, the positives! The Mandu was really, really good...and quite meaty! The Dolsot Bibimbap was good in that it came with a generous load of fresh veggies. Now the problems. The Bulgogi in the Dolsot Bibimbap was problematic. It was a bit too fatty...and too chunky...and just hard to eat. It was also a bit bland! They should have cut it up a bit...or provided us with proper cutlery, like a fork and a knife! This is a pet peeve of mine...but nowadays, hardly any restaurant gives you the full set of cutlery. Just fork, or just chopsticks!! Then the Ssam Board. While it looked luscious, I personally had a problem with the meat. While I love Galbi, cuts of Galbi was all-out rare. The waiter didn't even ask for our preference, by the way. If I knew it'd be prepared that red, I would have ordered something else. If it was medium-rare, for instance, I might have liked this dish. My husband prefers a much more rare cut of meat than me, yet even he thought this was too red. Also, I expected something more than raddish for sides. Not sure if this "Board" was worth $42. We also tried this Black Sesame Ice Cream dessert. I loved the flavor...but nothing too special. Service was a bit off as well. While friendly at our table, our waiter wasn't too attentive...especially in the beginning. If he stopped by our table earlier, I might have gotten them to bring back the Ssam Board to cook the meat a bit more. Frankly, I was underwhelmed with the foods, the presentation, even the service. Overall, there were just too many things amiss (or just underwhelming??)...so much so that I doubt I'll pick this place again.

The dining room had a handful of tables occupied. In short, easy to get a seat. Drinks were good. I like the Somaek ($6) which is a small beer and a shot of soju. Beer ($7) was beer. We got some beef and pork mandu (dumplings) that were pretty good. 6 pieces for $10 on HH. We got two entrees, the Ddukbokgi ($28) and Yukgaejang ($29), which came with four banchan. Ddukbokgi is chewy rice cakes, gochujang, onion, and bulgogi. We thought it was only ok -- we've had better, including at Mandu in the past. Yukgaejang was a new dish for me. The menu described it as a "spicy beef stew, brisket, noodles, shiitake, bean sprouts, and egg." I expected the brisket to be sliced and recognizably brisket, but it was pulled -- it looked and tasted more like pulled pork. The dish also didn't have any noodles in it. I didn't like it. The banchan was seaweed, bean sprouts, kimchi, and cucumbers. It was okay. Service at the bar was fine.

For $45 per person, the all-you-can-eat experience feels like a really solid deal considering how many protein options and side dishes you get. They start you off with a variety of banchan (side dishes), including a salad with this super tasty dressing that had the perfect little spicy kick. For the BBQ, we kicked things off with the spicy bulgogi and butter garlic shrimp, while the others tried the pork belly (I don't eat pork). Later we ordered the steak, spicy brisket, and grilled squid, which were all delicious. The spicy brisket especially was a standout for me. The guys also ordered two rounds of fried dumplings that looked amazing, but since they contain pork, I had to sit those out. I'd love to see Chadol add a veggie dumpling option to the menu! As for the sides, the kimchi and cold glass noodles were both hits at our table, and of course we all added white rice. The "mashed potatoes" though? Definitely more like potato salad and unfortunately very bland. On the other hand, the cheese corn costs extra but is 1000% worth adding. For drinks, the guys enjoyed the Woody Old Fashioned while I had a mezcal margarita-style cocktail that was smoky and refreshing. We also ordered one of the chicken options but never received it and eventually just gave up on it. One of the coolest parts of the experience is the ordering system. Most meats are ordered directly from a machine at your table, and the food comes out quickly on this conveyor belt-style setup which was honestly so fun. Drinks and side dishes are ordered through the servers. The atmosphere was lively and energetic without feeling overwhelming. The restaurant is actually much larger inside than I expected, with a modern setup that works well for smaller groups. That said, I didn't really notice tables for larger parties, so I'm not sure how they accommodate groups bigger than 6 people. Service started off a little rough because our server wasn't very attentive, but after I called it out, he definitely stepped it up and things improved. Overall, Chadol was a really good experience and absolutely worth the price. The 1.5-hour seating limit makes sense too, both to keep things moving and give others a chance to enjoy the experience. I'd definitely go back!

Don't take it from me...if you're on social media you'll see that food influencers have travelled from afar to rate these wings. And even they were in disbelief how amazing these wings were. The honey lemon pepper is not just a unique sounding flavor but the taste execution is something else. If you haven't tried KoChix don't walk...RUN! Service is always nice and they get orders ready fairly quickly for a fried wing joint. Ambiance isn't much to write about. Kind of your standard takeout place. We got the wings and stood outside and enjoyed them. The weather was nice. Bring plenty of paper towels and water to rinse your hands off.
