    SOHO GRAND LOBBY
    Kevin J.

Spent the weekend there with my partner. Bryson at the front desk is spectacular, the doormen are professional gentlemen. But look no further than DRE, evening manager for the main floor at Grand Bar. He's cut straight out of a Vogue magazine. Professional, Polite, Classy, On point in every way. He wears and outshines the brand Grand has to offer, For phenomenal service and a great stay you must try the SOHO Grand. Ask for Dre.

I had a great experience at the SoHo Grand. Our room was booked last minute and was on a lower floor but was beautiful, not too loud and large for a hotel room in NYC. Greeted with a glass of prosecco, robes in the room and I loved the bar in the hotel. My one complaint is the we were initially turned away from the "club" because my partner was in a T shirt, so we went upstairs to change and when we got inside, there were people in tracksuits and much more casual attire. Other than that I loved my stay and will stay again in the future. Lucia's pizza across the street is incredible.

Me and my fiancé stayed here for Valentine's Day weekend and Soho Grand did not disappoint! We spent lunch and dinner at the lobby bar and it is so chic and fabulous. Andres greeted and seated us both times and was such a charming angel, and even took the time out to take a few pictures of me and my friend later that night. 10 out of 10 recommend and can't wait to come stay again. Also get "the spa" drink! (If you like gin.) Andres suggested it to me over the margarita and I'm so happy he did because that's what I had all night and it was so yummy!!

This place is like something out of a Stanley Kubrick movie. It's gorgeous. The staff is impeccable especially the front door man John

I had an amazing stay from Friday-today! The Hotel is chic and dog friendly! Pearl and Vienna LOVED the exclusive dog park and met many friends. I got to eat at The Soho Diner, Gilligans, and Grand Bar and Salon with my pups. Everyone from the check in staff, doormen, housekeepers and waitresses and waiters/hosts made me feel at home and were friendly. This is the best dog friendly hotel in NYC and there is no dog fee!! I am definitely staying again for a staycation!!

What a pretty place. Great bar. Great food. Great ambience. Great service. Got salad with steak. Shrimp and burger. Mac and cheese. All were cooked to perfection. They have a club. It's also great. Hard to get in. But great music and crowd. Give it a try.

This review is for the lounge and grand bar. Very cool hip vibe. Couches and chairs and well appointed, cool place to hang for a few hours over cocktails or coffee. Stop in grab a chair and have some coffee or lunch or brunch. Food was good! Had the mac and cheese with truffles and the Mac and cheese with lobster! Yes we went overboard Service was slow but they were hustling. Love this place

I read through the negative reviews to better understand why the 3.5 rating on Yelp... honestly our stay was exceptional- to the point where at certain moments it feels like a 5 star hotel... Prosecco upon checkin, early check in if they have enough rooms, great doormen who get your bags and take them to your room in a super busy area... this one doorman had been working there two decades !! He was fabulous and I wish I remembered his name... From my first phone connection with Mark Perez asking that our Amex room upgrade please be denoted, I was impressed... he asked about our trip and I explained it was an auspicious time of year as Persian new year and we were meeting family- then also as a front line worker feeling burnt out and ready to unplug... he shared his wife is also a therapist and he understood ... upon checking in Andrew made us feel like family and Genesis was a doll with our various questions ... the room and bottle of wine with gorgeous card brought tears to our eyes- when your job is to care for others being cared for means a lot !! We ate at all three spots (diner / lounge / jazz club) and they were all tasty and fresh flavors- drinks were excellent !! Music from DJ in lobby bar and jazz in jazz club where fabulous!!!! No cover charge !!! Just table time limits which are fair. We fell in love and will be back - PLUS- they allow dogs !!!

There were 2 different switches and it was confusing to figure out what controlled what. The staff were very friendly. They were able to get us into our room early and they let us check out late. One thing to note: the hotel sits right above a sports bar, so it can get noisy when there's a game on. The gym was a low point. The hotel shares its fitness facility with a Planet Fitness, which feels out of place for a mid-tier Marriott -- not quite what you'd expect from the brand.

Prime location! Modern, spacious rooms (for the city)!…read more The elevators though.... Oy. I stayed at this hotel over the New Years holiday and was thrilled to be so close to Madison Square Garden and Times Square. As was expected, check in was a bit chaotic given the time of year. The ground floor entrance was PACKED with luggage on first arrival. After weaving our way through, we located the check-in desk on the 5th or 6th floor. Tons of people but adequate seating to wait for our room to be ready. An upper floor meant having to figure out their dreaded elevator system. It left something to be desired, to say the least. With only 3 elevators that service the whole of the hotel, and a 4th that goes who knows where, it was almost always a lengthy struggle to catch one. No buttons on the interior of the carriage, all elevators were called with a touchscreen device that seemingly tried to pack as many people as possible into one small space, leaving many behind that couldn't fit, before directing the passengers to another elevator to repeat the whole process over again. One day was so bad, it was actually preferable to walk up the stairs to the 14th floor. Woof. The room itself was wonderful. Spacious, with 2 beds. Very clean. Beautiful view of the city and the arena next door. Great way to catch the sun set. Walk in shower with both an overhead and handheld shower attachment. Great lighting. Shower had heavily frosted glass that faced the bedroom area so be prepared for your silhouette to be on full display for anyone you may be rooming with. Nice sized closet, safe, and mini fridge. Big flat screen television. Window shade worked very well to block out the light if you're hoping to sleep in late. Walls can be a bit thin, especially if you have a rowdy bunch of kids right next door as we did. Aside from the elevators, the perks far outweighed the usual peskier elements (e.g., noise, etc.) one encounters when staying away from home. Would stay here again, perhaps during a less busy time of year, if that's even possible.

The Library Hotel is every bit as charming as people say, but what really makes it special is the team. I arrived by car while the building was hidden behind scaffolding, and the front desk was incredibly kind and patient, helping guide me to the loading area so I didn't spend my afternoon circling the block. Housekeeping was so gracious and helpful throughout my stay, the bartender at Bookmarks very kindly helped my friend carry our drinks down to the room, and checkout took less than 30 seconds. Every interaction was warm, thoughtful, and genuinely welcoming. The themed rooms are such a fun touch (I loved seeing how each one was inspired by a different subject), but I also have to give a shout-out to the practical things. I took a few work video calls from my room on the 12th floor, and the Wi-Fi was ridiculously good - honestly stronger than the Wi-Fi in my own house when I'm sitting five feet from the modem. Not a second of lag. The TV also had a ton of premium channels, which was such a fun surprise after long days exploring the city. And finally, a standing ovation for the real MVP: the air conditioning. New York was basically a sauna while I was there, and every time I walked back into my room I was greeted by the most glorious arctic blast. It was so good that my friends ended up wanting to hang out in my room and order dinner instead of going back out into the heat. Perfect stay from beginning to end. I can't wait to come back.

Whenever you get to spend time with other book lovers, it's a plus, so I also very much loved being able to talk to people in the common room on the 2nd floor. They also offered the price including breakfast. Arrived at the hotel and saw that they only had one working elevator for a hotel that was over 20 floors high. There was a line for the elevator that you had to wait for at least 20 minutes to take. I asked the about the breakfast and they said the restaurant was closed so no hot breakfast. Why is this hotel offering a room rate price with breakfast when there is no restaurant for breakfast?! They told me they had bagged breakfast, which was always gone and coffee was all gone too. Took over 10 minutes to wait for new coffee to arrive. Renovation work bright and early at 8am. I was offered loyalty points for compensation by the manager, Delanie, and these points never showed up. I was also mistakenly charged for drinking their water bottles when I didn't even touch those bottles. They never even told me that I was going to be charged after checking out.
