I hardly ever get my nails done because it's outside of my budget, but I had been here once with a gift card a year ago and had a decent experience but the nail painting had some ridges/bumps and didn't look too professional. Went back with a friend that was treating me for my birthday and it was horrible. One man in particular ruined the whole experience. He would not stop pressuring us to choose the more expensive options and wouldn't take no for an answer. I told him no many times, that I just wanted the basic and not all the upgrades but he did them anyways. Already an overpriced salon, but that experience just made me so angry. I made my appointment online and for my 10 yr old granddaughter for $20 along with my appointment for dip nails. First of all the lady who did my nails didn't even fix the nail I broke and when I realized she didn't plan to, it was too late. I couldn't understand her at all and she couldn't me. The man who took my granddaughter to do her nails told her to pick a color and she did. When I went to pay, they told me I owed $35 for her and I explained no, when I made the appointment it was for the $20 manicure. She is 10!! They said well she picked gel polish and it's more. I told them they needed to run that by me first and she said they don't. It really hacked me off they couldn't understand where THEY went wrong. Worst nail salon experience of my life. Within 24 hours, 2.5 of my fingernails had fallen off and within 48 hours 3.5 of my toenails had fallen off. When I called to get this addressed, I was hung up on twice and was told only the technician who did my nails could repair them. Of course, she just so happened to be off that day. When I asked to come in and have another technician repair them, I was told no one else would help me. After speaking with the manager, he offered no resolution and offered false information regarding the salon policy. I'm on day 3 of getting this addressed/refunded. I would give -5 stars if I could. So disappointed in this place. I used to come here all the time. I couldn't make it recently but, I made an appointment to go this past week. I walked in, knowing exactly what I wanted. I requested a full set and a pedicure. After walking in there were two people ahead of me. My appointment was supposed to be at 5pm. I wasn't seated at a pedicure chair till 5:30. No water in the bin. And there's 2 other groups of two waiting as well. Frustrated I waited a little bit longer hoping for some movement. I couldn't wait any longer and left. I had an appointment scheduled and couldn't stand how long this took, mind you there was an employee still down scrolling through her phone. I felt the need to vouch for this place because of all of the mixed reviews. Let me preface this by saying I am a nail snob from Nashville and totally spoiled rotten when it comes to this type of business. When I first moved to Knoxville, I spent MONTHS going from nail salon to nail salons trying to find the "right" place for me - and I really found it with SoHo nails. While I've admittedly only ever had SNS (signature nails systems) and no other service at SoHo (yet) I have to say this is my favorite nail salon in Knoxville. From the moment you walk in you can tell it's a step above your run of the mill Knoxville salon. It reminds of a slightly outdated version of Nashville Nail Bar. The place is spacious and the nail stations are spaced out for a little extra privacy. I was offered my choice of beverage immediately upon sitting down - wine, soda or water. (A special touch for me that I haven't experienced at all since leaving Nashville). The service was fast and efficient and the quality was top notch. They take reservations as well as walk-ins. And have never tried to up sell me on a service I don't need or lecture me on how often I "should" be getting my nails done. (Which happens a lot in Knoxville for some bizarre reason). And as far as this place being "expensive" ... It was $5 more than I've paid everywhere else - I didn't bleed or get lectured about nail care and got offered a free glass of wine - $5 extra is a bargain. I highly recommend this salon for SNS and plan on test driving their other services soon. read more

My friend brought me in for a pedi as a birthday surprise! I was expecting an awesome experience because of the atmosphere alone, way different than the little nail salons in San Diego. Anyways, the lady was nice I suppose considering she didn't say much other than hi. She really didn't seem to want to be doing a pedi. I would not consider what she did a pedi. She took quite some time trimming the nails and after that it all went downhill. She partially massaged one calf, applied the hot towels and moved on to painting my toes. Before applying the polish (after the base coat) she stops and says "next time you will need to get the more expensive one (because $30+ isn't expensive enough... In Cali they run $15-$22) that the one I got (which was the basic one , to include the massage and all the basic pedi stuff) is for 1/2 hour only and that it took her longer". Okay?!?!? Considering I (well my friend) was paying for a pedi I expected a pedi, I cannot dictate how long it takes for you to DO YOUR JOB... but how can you stop mid pedi and decide it's time to paint mails because the time allotted has expired?!?!?! Makes no sense and if that's the case she need to just not do them any more so that customers can get what they paid for. So I left very disappointed! BTW: I had just had a pedi two weeks prior so my nails where not in bad shape and there was no reason she could not have gotten it done. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING...... Luckily I have a place I like and that does a complete pedi no matter how long it takes them to complete it. read more

Went in for a pedicure. Tech used a tool that I wasn't familiar with. I've leaned since that it's a Credo blade. It has a razor blade inside it. They are illegal. After leaving the salon I realized my left heel was bleeding. Returned to SoHo, showed them my foot and ask for a refund. They were unapologetic and refused to refund my money citing "store policy". Obviously they have sketchy business practices . How do places like this stay in business?! read more

THIS PLACE DESERVE A ZERO STAR Around 5:00 we called SOHO asking if they had a wait time the young man on the phone said no we have no wait time. When my friend and I got there, a worker was laying on a couch with shoes off.... That was a terrible first impression. 5:30 rolls around and I am still not tended to, my friends nails are already done and everything. 5:45 comes and they move me to a seat with Nancy. Nancy soaked my nails off and disappeared for 15-20 mins. My original plan was to get a full set with almond shape and the glazed donut trend. Nancy informs me that it will be 15$ for chrome and an extra 10$ for the shape. I decided to go with something simple of a yellow color and keep my natural nails. Nancy still put ACRYLICS on. Later on she starts to push my cuticles back with her bare hands/nails, instead of using the tools provided. She starts to buff my nails with the drimmel and burns my nail. As I jerk my hand back she pulls my arm so I can not pull back. It is around 7:00 and my nails are still not done. The nails look HORRENDOUS I told Nancy to please file them down. She quickly grabbed my hand aggressively. It is roughly 7:10 and they are about to close. My friend and I had plans at 7:30. I told Nancy to please stop I am not liking how the nails are turning out and we have to be somewhere at 7:30. Nancy then grabs my arm and does not let me get up from the chair. She immediately buffed my nails very roughly leaving a red buff spot on one of my fingers. Finally she lets me get up and blocks me from the door saying I still need to pay. For a service in which was not completed and did not like. Do not visit this place for nails. THIS IS ASSAULT AND BATTERY. I asked for a refund and they said "per policy" no refund is accepted. But in the store there is not posted. This is a scam! read more

I had an hour, which I don't get very often. And Soho is the place I decided to relax for a bit. Soho Pedicure, Ocean Scent, please. 3 massages- exfoliate, mask then lotion... were wonderful. Henry took amazing care of me. He didn't speak, but I didn't want to talk. I got the massage in my chair, sipped on my water and played on my phone. Just got the revel powder nails done. I am in love. They feel so much better than the shellac/gel nails and you don't have to cook your hand under UV light. It takes a little bit of time to put the powder nail stuff on, they have to dip your nails in powder about 4 times and add top coats, etc. it's so worth it. The gel manis I have gotten from here have all lasted a long time but it's been a week and my nails look like I got them done today. The powder can also stay on for up to 8 weeks. The most fun part about it is I got the "mood change" nails and they change color when hot or cold. Will definitely be doing this from now on! read more

I have been here once before and the pedicure was average. Today's pedicure was awful. The lady said only "hello" to me the whole time. I put my feet into boiling hot water. They should really check it before pointing you to put your feet in! Then she continued to trim my cuticles for EVER. I had a pedicure 3 weeks ago. She clipped three different toes to the point of bleeding. Then she puts some blue stuff on it. Stung like heck. When she started to file my feet, all I was...was uncomfortable. It hurt. My sister visited from out of town and we went for pedicures, the technician doing my sisters used a piece of equipment ( that we now know is illegal in the state of TN) Credo Knife and said she was removing a callus. She cut my sisters foot with it. The technician also only pretended to apply the second coat of polish. The brush actually never touched her toes! Just a reminder: pedicure technicians are NOT allowed legally to treat or remove anything on your foot. Ex: ingrown nail, callus or anything else. So pay attention to what they pull from their caddy and say after the fact! This requires a medical doctor. They refused to refund her money. It's really best to check the credentials of your technician, sharing a license with multiple techs is NOT a uncommon practice. read more

Staff was not friendly. Receptionist said I was too early and would have to wait a while when I was there 5 minutes before my appointment. The tech barely spoke to me and did not provide the service I was scheduled for. He had me switch tables after he bounced between me and another client. The nails were mediocre. I made an appointment with James for 1pm. When I got there, the tech was in the middle of doing someone else's nails---not finishing up. It looked as if he had just gotten started. So, I took it in stride and told them they could start with the pedicure until he finished. (I am new to Knoxville and was accustomed to having an appointment and being serviced at the appointment time AND..the nail techs would do a mani/pedi at the same time.) The nail tech who performed the pedicure could not speak English. It started off with the water in the foot tub being cold, I was burned by the hot stones, one of my toes was cut and he was very heavy-handed when doing the massage---to the point that it was painful. When he painted my toes, they looked like a small child did it. My feet and legs were sore the next day. As for my nails, James eventually came over and put the acetone on my nails so it would make cut down on the time to finish my manicure. I am used to the nail techs coming to the pedicure station to finish the manicure so that clients do not have to wait so long for a service to be completed. This guy clearly did not want or plan on doing that. He finally got started with my nails and one of them, my thumb, was messed up after he started to cure the get polish. There was no way to fix it but to take it off and redo it. He asked me what I wanted him to do and I told him to take it off and fix it. There may have been another way to do it, but I have no clue about that and I told him that too. He took it off and "fixed" it, but he did not put two coats or a top coat on the thumb nail and didn't allow it enough time to cure. It looks totally different from all of the other nails. All in all, I felt like he didn't care and just wanted to get me out of there. He quickly rang me up and charged me for a gel pedicure, when I had a regular pedicure. And took my card to pay before telling me what he was doing. Finally, I asked him what was going on and that's when he told me he had charged me an additional $15 for a gel pedicure and had to remove it and ring me up again. Needless to say, after this experience, I won't be back. The sad thing is James is a decent nail tech, but his unprofessionalism on this last visit was unacceptable. read more

I don't get my nails done often, so when I do I want it to be perfect. This place comes pretty close! I came here as a birthday treat with my Mom and was pleasantly surprised. First of all, you get a complimentary drink while you sit in the massage chair and they work on your feet. I enjoyed a nice white wine while my Mom had a Margarita on the rocks. Very relaxing! After an exquisite pedicure I was treated to a beautiful french manicure... and usually this is where places screw up. They don't take the time to do it well. Not here, they were fantastic! Worst customer service from the owners Jose and Kayla!!! I recently had gel polish put on and within a week, the polished chipped. Soho guarantees their service for 2 weeks. I went back to have my polished touched touched up plus pay for a manicure. Kayla tried to up-sell the dip polish. The catch.... I would have to pay more than the difference between the two services. When I declined, Jose and Kayla were rude, condescending and made me feel extremely uncomfortable. STAY AWAY!!!! read more

Went in with wife for a pedicure. Waited 30 minutes when they said wait time 15 minutes. Lady who did my nails made it look like she was in a hurry. She tore skin in 2 different locations on the bottom of my right foot. She wasn't paying attention when removing dead skin with cheese grader and over did it. Will never go back. read more
