I gave it 2 stars because my manicure is good but I won't be going back! I signed in for a manicure pedicure. While I was getting my manicure a lot of people came in for pedicures. When my manicure was done they put me in a pedi chair and for 40 mins I watched them go to everyone who came in after me. I asked them to dry my feet and let me go. Then my $35 gel manicure was $40 because they charge $5 for removal. I've been to a lot of manicure places and never heard of a removal charge if you are getting a new gel manicure. read more

I have used Soho nails for several manicures and pedicures. I am generally happy with the services I've received there. The staff is friendly and usually quite professional. However, the last time my daughter and I were there, the person who answered the phone double booked my appointment. My usual manicurist tried to make things better by asking another employee to get my manicure started. As the other employee was beginning to help me, she was approached by the manager, who, speaking Vietnamese, began to berate her. I don't speak the language, but it was clear to me and others who were within earshot, that he was dressing her down. She stood up, said to me in English, "I'm sorry, I guess I can't get you started." A few minutes later, she said "I'm going home." Today was the absolute last time I will be coming to this place. I moved to Knoxville about 2 years ago and read that this place had great pedicures, with very reasonable prices. The first time I came here, I had an awesome experience. The young girl that gave me a pedicure was sweet as could be, did a great job on my toes, and surprisingly acted interested in our conversation. She even fixed my toenail polish after I messed it up getting into my car! I continued coming here for pedicures over the next year and a half and I started noticing a change about 6 months back. I came in on a busy Saturday evening for a quick pedicure and the place was packed. I patiently waited my turn, yet I noticed that others around me were not so patient (I even saw a woman storm out of the place after yelling at what looked like the owner). When it was my turn for the pedicure, I sat down in the chair, and when I put my feet in the water, the water was BOILING hot. Now, normally, I'm not one to say something, but it was unbearable, so she let out some water out and tried again. When I stuck my feet back in the water, the water was still unbearably hot, and at this point, when I told the girl, she seemed annoyed. So I just stuck my feet in and decided to deal with it. I understand it was a busy evening, yet I'm still paying for a pedicure so I deserved better treatment. My pedicure was fast and uncomfortable yet I figured I would give this place another try considering my experience wasn't so bad for the first year and a half. Today, I came in to get a pedicure (the place was fairly empty). When I stuck my feet in, my water was cold. Absolutely freezing cold, not even room temperature. The guy who gave me a pedicure could care less about what he was doing....it was an awful experience to say the least. Just moved to Knoxville from Chicago and thought this place looked nice... It's nothing more than a typical nail salon, the utensils that Peter used on me weren't from a new package and who knows if they actually sanitize them- they came from a bin e kept all his supplies in. During the pedicure he hardly looked at me, he massaged one leg for 5 minutes and the other for 30 seconds. The polish was lumpy on my toes, and the same for the manicure- I thought he was going to go back and clean it up but he never did. I paid 56.00 for a mani pedi that I could have done myself. Don't go here! I got a mani-pedi and as a bonus a nasty nail fungus! The pedi was very rough and broke skin. The mani was okay, but she did not shape my nails very well. Then she bashed on every other employee. I'm still dealing with a fungus (toe) that has destroyed my nail. I've been using two anti fungals and bleach soft scrub (doctor recommended) but it will take until this nail grows out to fully get rid of the damage. The thing is, as I sat there I noticed the pumice stone and other utensils he pulled from a drawer. My thought was " has this been sanitized?" The clear answer is NO! I never write reviews, but this place is not recommended. The last time I went I got a nail fungus that took 9 months to heal. After 2 years a friend asked me to meet her for a pedicure and she told me things had changed. This time, the guy clipped too close and left a flesh wound. And after 7 hours of letting my toes dry in flip flops, when I went to put on shoes all the polish slid and looks awful. I tried to call and complain and did not receive a call back. When it first opened, I was impressed. It was more expensive than I was used to, but a great nail tech is worth it. Jump ahead to this year...my nail girl was out of town so I tried this place again. Cleanliness is most important at a nail salon due to the risk of infections and such. Let's just say I won't go back. Not at all the same as it used to be. read more

the place itself is nice and put together but my French manicure was a huge disappointment. The first few hours after I left it was perfect but each nail started chipping and cracking within the first day. Today marks three days since I've been and they look horrible. Keep in mind I've been sick these past few days so I have not been doing anything strenuous or damaging to my nails at all whatsoever. Horrible experience. My friend and I came to get pedicures and gel nails. They did great with the pedicure. Then we got to get our nails done. My tech gives me gel nail Polish, not what I asked for. In order to get that I would have to wait for over and hour. Then my friend wants to have her gel nails filled in and a few of them repaired. She has to wait for 45 minutes to get them done. Then they were charging ridiculous amounts to do what she asked for. We will never be back. read more

The first time I went it was based on a recommendation from a friend. The lady that did them did a fine job. I had the shellac polish french mani done, it lasted 3 weeks. I called to have her redo them and she no longer works there, so another girl did it this time. I am very unimpressed. After 3 days it was already chipping off. I called to make an appt with a different person but when I got there was told that the same person had to "fix" why would I want her to do them again if she couldn't get it right the first time. The person at the desk was very rude and said whoever I spoke with earlier didn't know what she was talking about, because no one else would do them for free "need to be same girl". I don't believe I'll go back they don't stand behind there 2 week guarantee. They don't tell you it's guaranteed for 2 weeks but only if the same person does the lousy job again!! read more

The WORST experience I have ever had at any nail salon. Came with a bridal party that had a reservation for 7 people. All were taken back for their various services within 15 minutes, except me. Several other people walk in (some with appointments, some not) and all are taken back within a reasonable amount of time. After 45 minutes, I ask how much longer I can expect to wait. Young lady at the desk then proceeds to start soaking my nails, taking off my dip nail polish. Other guy comes over to start doing a simple manicure on me. He is extremely distracted and stops numerous times to chat with others while doing my nails. He starts filing them, and I ask him to please make my nails a little shorter. He gives me an abhorrent look and says, "shorter?!" To which I reply, "Yes, please." He then acts out of anger and proceeds to take the nail file and run it back and forth as fast as he can until my nail is run all the way down. I pull my hand back and ask him if I have made him mad. At this point, I was beyond done. I got up without a manicure, paid $20 for absolutely nothing, and left. I will never return. read more

They do a decent job, but every time I go in I have to wait a really long time. They always try and turn people away when they have like 5 people waiting. Most of the employees are pretty rude too.. it's a really nice place and they have a lot of really nice services but the service in general is not good. I went a while back but when I did the man who did my pedicure was great. It was the girl that did my nails that was awful. She had her friends there and they were speaking another language that they didn't know I almost speak fluently as well. It was not relaxing to hear their loud slander when I just wanted to hang back and get my nails done for my engagement shoot. Why were her friends even there? When she is working it's about her client, not gossiping with others. Otherwise this would have been a nice place to go to but I won't knowing they allow their employees to do that. read more

They were so rude my nails were drilled to a point I asked them to stop. I was bleeding in my cuticles. Been here several times, I really feel the overall experience depends on the person you get! Been at times not many people there, but most days I have visited they are fairly busy. It's a larger nail salon & decent enough atmosphere. I have had gel nails done & a few times the right hand always pops off with in days. I did go back & they were nice enough to fix them at no charge, but I felt I still should tip the tech. And the end result is I was happy. I don't think I have ever been offered a beverage but once. And my main focus is sanitary implements first, customer service second & quality service third. My advice is with any nail salon if you can find the right tech get the name of them & request them. And my advice to the nail salons, customers have a abundance of choices, so make me want to give you my money! Make me want to come back. I think I counted 7 nail salons from Campbell station to Lovell road. I will go back for now, but I am going to see if the young lady at the desk can help me figure out who I started out with, that's who I liked the best! read more

Nice atmosphere, but I had a couple issues with this place that will probably keep me from going back. Firstly, they offer you beverages of water or a glass of wine. I was never once offered something to drink, not even water. I sat for an hour while getting my pedicure and watched them tend to every other customer except for me. I had to finally ask for some water. Secondly, I had a french manicure and my nails were fairly short, so i asked that the white tips be thin so it didn't look awkward. The technician made the white tips pretty thick so i asked her to make them thinner and she was very annoyed with me and it was obvious. I don't appreciate this kind of behavior considering I just dropped $80 having pedi/mani. It's too bad I had this poor experience as I had high hopes for the place. read more

We went out there and there was a one hour wait, which we only found out after signing in and waiting for the man behind the desk to acknowledge we existed. One of the worst experiences I've ever had at a nail salon. Went in to get ombré dipping powder. No one in the entire building I guess was trained and the only person wasn't coming in for another hour. Also this place is huge and they have a ton of techs if that says anything. So I settled on a full set of acrylics which I didn't want in the first place but it was the only time I had due to my schedule. I pick my color out, sit on the second floor. An older lady starts to do my nails, I feel like she skipped a lot of normal steps. I asked her to please cut them down and she did and I asked her to make them just a little shorter and she looked at them and then me and told me "they're okay" . Okay... so then she paints my nails and when I got to finally look at them, they are a mess, paint on my fingers, nails not covered all the way, crazy brush strokes. And I swear they were like 1 inch thick. I asked her to please fix the paint and if she could please please file the thickness down and she told me the paint would come off with water over time and my thick nails were once again "okay, they're fine" . I finally went down to the front and asked to talk to a manger because I couldn't believe I had been here for more than an hour and my nails came out like this and she didn't even want to fix them. They were so horrible I didn't even want the manager to fix them. I asked them to take them OFF and I left. Go to Moda nails and save your time. The place is cool inside I'll give them that. She rushed through my pedicure, and talked to the girl next to her the whole time, in vietnamese. I felt like she was talking about me. Beware if you book your appointment online!! I booked an appointment online for a shellac nail color change and they charged me for an entire manicure!! I kept telling the lady doing my nails that all I needed was a color change and she kept saying OK so I thought everything she was doing was what they did for a color change.
