This cute place was pretty popular when we stopped in to try their housemade ice creams. 80%ish of the tables & chairs were filled, & others were coming in to order & go. Ordering is on an iPad, so there is no cashier. But there were constantly friendly people bringing orders out from the kitchen to announced names for pickup. We ordered the 3-scoop to try a few of the yummy ice creams. When they called our name, the guy apologized for being out of one of our flavor choices - sweet corn. We initially asked for blueberry lavender instead, but sadly they were out of that too. The flavors we did get were SUPER YUM: Pandan - light in texture & flavor, repeatworthy Black milk tea - literally, the ice cream version of the drink - good! Jasmine milk tea - my favorite! The perfect amount of milky Jasmine flavor! It gradually developed in strength rather than punched you in the face. All of the ice creams were perfectly lightly sweet. I also had a Hojicha Latte that initially came out too sweet for me at 25% sugar, likely bc I added lychee jelly. My bad. The girl who handed it to me was super nice & remade it for me with 0% sweet & no lychee jelly, & even added a sprinkle of cinnamon. It was a really good, super murky iced hojicha latte. It was my first time coming here and I was pleasantly surprised by how many tables there were inside given how warm the weather was outside! What a gem that Downtown Fullerton now has! I can't believe it's only their soft opening phase and they already have lines going out the door! I recently found out from my friends that a new tea shop opened up right next to Chicana Vegana in Downtown Fullerton and I always dreamed of the day DTF would get a high quality tea shop. They pride themselves in using and sourcing fresh ingredients with their syrups made in house and they're very big on using alkaline water for their drinks. You can literally justify your daily boba/tea cravings by saying you're getting nutrients from your drink order! I also noticed that the owners of the establishment really try their best to get to know everyone that orders. I was amazed at Sam's (one of the owners) ability to remember the customer's drink orders even though they're always super busy. I love peach and not many spots offer peach yogurt so it was a no brainer for me to order this. Sweetness level was perfect. Dragon-Passionfruit Fruikaline Drink ($6.00) - Recommended to me by a friend! This was super refreshing and I liked how it wasn't overly sweet. You can really taste the puree and that they use real fruit for their drinks. I got mine with Cherry Blossom crystal boba and that was the cherry on top! OMG! What a pleasant tea lover's dream! Let's talk about the ambiance .. it's giving "Japanese" calming zen with some modern and minimalisitic "Cambodian" flare. It's lovely to see a Cambodian-American business (AAPI business) thriving out here in Fullerton! My husband is a Cambodian American himself, so we're always going to be supportive of our cultures. I appreciate all the naturalness in the shop - love the aesthetics. To the rocks on the floor and to the plants in shop. There's a good amount of space and different sections for multi-purpose use. This spot is the perfect place for CSUF students to study in a group of 2-4 people, for customers to catch up with family or friends, or even for a WFH patron who just needs a change of scenery. The chairs are comfortable since they have padding, which is great ergonomically for the back and butt. The owners also have done things like switch seating around to accomodate Final Week for students - I mean, come on, how sweet is that? I even deep dove into their Instagram, and saw that the owners actually did a lot of the building and painting themselves. You can actually sense all the hard work put into the shop - there's like a warm aura this place exudes and it shows. Now onto the drinks, my husband and our friends couldn't just choose just one item, so we had to order pretty much one off each section. I chatted it up a bit with one of the owners, Sam, and I found out that everything they use is alkaline or organic. We love to see that! Sam was very humble and personable. We got to hear the whole story about how Sojeata came to be. So many boba spots market sugary and super sweet drinks, but here at Sojeata, they market enjoying things we like normally to indulge in by using organic ingredients only. My kind of boba/tea shop! We ordered a Jasmine Milk Tea with Sakura boba, Dragonfruit Tea with lychee jelly, Mango Yogurt Drink, Iced Matcha Latte with Wild Blueberries, and a Hojicha Latte with Cheese Foam and Boba. Ive always wanted to try their matcha here and to be honest it was good matcha! Ive had better before but the matcha here is quite strong and has the kick if youre looking for an impactful drink. One thing that caught me off guard was the foam in my Matcha Einspanner- I expected a light, sweet foam on top but it was actually quite salty. I thought they accidentally gave me cheese foam instead but seems like their regular cream tops are sweet and salty. So if you arent a fan of salty foams then I would recommend getting their regular Matcha Latte. P.S. I also ordered their Coffee Latte to which I wouldnt personally recommend as it was kind of watered down. This might be because I ordered with oatmilk but I would recommend you get tea-based drinks more than coffee menus. I ordered an earl gray milk tea latte with boba, and the staff told me that they'd be brewing it fresh so it would take some time, but it was well worth the wait! Very strong bergamot flavor, they clearly use quality tea. We got a strawberry matcha with boba and oat milk and a dragon-passion fruit tea with sakura crystal boba. I love that they use only organic and non-GMO fruit purées to flavor their fruit teas! It really makes a big difference in the taste of the tea. If you want your drink in the glass tumbler or plastic carton, it's $6 extra. Or it's $12 and it comes with milk tea. This is my favorite place to work and study because the wifi is so strong compared to the other coffee shops in the area!! There's also so much more seating which is nice because I often have to wait for seating to become available at other places. Everyone NEEDS to try the blueberry matcha latte. I've gotten it twice a visit since they first dropped it on the menu. They're also super accommodating with the adjustments if you don't like how it's made which was super sweet. Came here on a Friday night with a big group of friends (probably 10 of us). It was packed, with every table full and the line stretched all the way toward the middle of the store. Fortunately it moved pretty fast, and there was a sign giving customers a heads-up that since it's their soft opening, orders could take 15-20 minutes to fulfill. Not great news, but better to at least know in advance. I got a mango yogurt drink, and it had a good taste, but honestly it was kind of on the watery side and I thought it wasn't that outstanding. My friend got two scoops of ice cream, one jasmine and one pandan, and I tried them and thought they were really good. But I don't think they were special enough to be $6 a scoop. Yes...$12 for two scoops. I don't live or work close by, so I probably won't make a special trip to return. We got the biscoff flavor and the ice cream was so creamy, sweet, and you can tell they use good ingredients (but price was a bit high for me for the size of scoop).
