A new Cambodian-owned cafe in Santa Ana! I was told by one of the owners that the cafe is relatively new and still in their soft opening. The interior design is lovely, with lots of natural light and minimalist decor. Everything looks very clean and new. The owner is super friendly, he chats with everyone with such kindness. I overheard every regulars talk about how much they enjoy their drinks! They also sell small snacks like sandwiches, cake slices, and macarons. There is WiFi and plenty of seating which makes it nice for studying, but not all of the tables are ergonomic. The benches are much lower than the tables which makes it hard to work at, so the high top seating is better for working on a computer. I'm sure sitting and chatting is fine on the benches. Strawberry refresher - 5/5, the strawberry puree is made fresh and the drink contains electrolytes which is great for the summer time. Not too sweet and great tangy flavor! Large drink portion as well. Very interested in trying their lychee refresher next time! I also wanted to purchase their imported Cambodian coffee beans. Came to this soft opening and when I walked in I felt immediately welcomed! Such a charming and cute cafe! All coffee beans are naturally sourced in Cambodia which I loved. My new go to spot for organic coffee. They did not charge me an arm and leg for oat milk either like other spots. I feel like places are up charging for coffee these days but Sojeata is very reasonably priced and it's organic. It has the strength of a Vietnamese coffee and the smoothness of a latte. Not super sweet or creamy like a typical Vietnamese coffee, and it's almost refreshing after a heavy meal like the one we had, but it did make me a little jittery. According to the menu, Cafe Sojeata uses medium roast coffee, while the other one (Cafe Gambodge) uses dark roast. Atmosphere: 5/5. They're located in the corner of the plaza across the DoubleTree hotel on MacArthur Blvd. The interior is so cool - I liked the light neutral aesthetics combined with modern, minimalist cafe vibes and cultural elements. My fiancé and I love this new spot! We've never heard of Cambodian coffee before trying it here for the first time, and now we're pretty obsessed. I'm Vietnamese, but I've never been a huge fan of Vietnamese coffee because it's usually too sweet and has condensed milk. I usually try to avoid dairy products. Cambodian coffee is kind of similar to Vietnamese coffee, but it's more coffee-forward and not too sweet. You can also substitute with oat milk for free which is amazing. I consider it a nice treat since I still typically stick to black coffee, but I have tried my friend's drip coffee from here and that was good as well. My sister got an egg salad sandwich and their blueberry matcha latte and while those were yummy, I'd still say the star of the show is the Cambodian coffee. The space is pretty large and is a nice spot to study or lounge at. Decor is unique and we loved the small touches like the Cambodian art pieces. Regarding service, the owners seem to be in the shop every day and enjoy engaging with the customers. I spoke with them about how they source their coffee beans (from Cambodia!) and about their goals for this place. When I say it's good, I mean it's so good I had to write a review IMMEDIATELY 5 minutes after I left. I personally don't have the biggest sweet tooth and am an avid coffee drinker. I'm only sad it took me this long to notice their shop (they're right on the corner of the plaza, next to Boil Daddy). Immediately when you walk in, you can tell they really took the time to make the place homey and welcoming to anyone ranging from a quick coffee run to studying for an important exam. They even have another room inside of the cafe for more study/work space! (And yes, they even have an outlet :-')) The person at the register, which I'm assuming is the owner, you can tell he really did pour his heart into the place. He talks about the menu with passion and he really cares about the ingredients he's selling. He makes sure that you don't feel hesitation to ask any questions and always makes sure to make you feel welcomed! (I wanted to ask questions but I was running late to work oopsssy) I read up on the reviews beforehand so I knew exactly what I wanted to get, and WOW. The cold brew (dark roast) is soooo good. I love me my bitter coffee but this literally was so smooth I was SHOCKED. And the blueberry matcha is not overly sweet where it takes away the flavor of the blueberry, almost like a blueberry donut but without the junk :-). Personally for me, I really loved both drinks and I cannot wait to try more of their menu!!! They also do have a fridge space of to go food. There's tuna salad, chicken salad, Black Forest ham and egg salad sandwiches. Also Oreo, biscoff, and pistachio ?(I think it might be a Dubai chocolate type of thing) tiramisu (which I will DEFINITELY be grabbing the Oreo next time), macarons, pasta salad, and some cookies and donuts at the register area. Been on my list to go here but I never have time since I work 8-5. Their coffee au-lait is SUPER GOOD; it's not too sweet like vietnamese coffee and it's strong to get me jittery as I have a high caffeine tolerance (I ordered dark roast). There's misconception about this place having very limited parking due to what's available in front of store. BUT THERE IS ACTUALLY A LOT OF PARKING. You can park in the parking garage for FREE!! You just have to watch out on not parking in the residential designated spots. It's based on a color legend but honestly you have so many options-- you can park in yellow, green, red, just anything that's NOT BLUE. The parking garage is on same side of stores. It has NORTH and SOUTH on top and u can park in either!! It says 2 hours tops but I've studied here for the whole day and have had no problem. Thing is that parking garage opens 9-5pm. So if you come earlier than 9, you can park in the spaces in front of the store and move it later. The ambience is relaxing while they play some nice EDM/pop songs in background. They do have limited outlets-- only one in the back on the wall near one of benches. They also have free wifi! You can get so much done here because it's quiet too. As for food, they only have sandwiches and dessert. No pastries except cookies. Also when they make your drink, they always make sure you like it otherwise you can have them adjust it! Super friendly and nice. Their restroom is in back--the only door in the back.! I would say only con is the hours on weekdays they are opened otherwise I would have this place be my study spot 24/7. TGOD weekend is 9-5 But will go here on my days off!! read more

Adorable café that just opened up nearby so of course I had to go in to check it out! The decor is super chic and the owner is super welcoming. I ordered a Blueberry Matcha with oat milk and it's amazing . They make their own fruit purée and at regular, the sweetness was just the perfect amount, not too sweet! They offer adjustments as well. I also picked up an Oreo Tiramisu to try and it's just delicious! It has a subtle coffee flavor and the cream is airy and fluffy. It's not overly sweet either.
