Came to this soft opening and when I walked in I felt immediately welcomed! Such a charming and cute cafe! All coffee beans are naturally sourced in Cambodia which I loved. Staff and the quality of customer service was amazing. I got the organic cafe au lait which was the best seller... let me tell you, it did not disappoint! It was sOooo GOOD. My new go to spot for organic coffee. They did not charge me an arm and leg for oat milk either like other spots. I feel like places are up charging for coffee these days but Sojeata is very reasonably priced and it's organic. They even sell other sweet treats like donuts, which they sold me on the tres leches .. super yum. I think they've been open only a few months but I'll definitely be coming back on the daily. You gotta try their coffee... you'll be addicted - you're welcome.

Cafe Sojeata Au Lait = good, like a combo of Vietnamese coffee and an iced latte

Cafe Sojeata Au Lait ($6): 4/5. We were told that their "au lait" drinks were like a mix of Vietnamese coffee and a latte, and I feel like that perfectly describes this balanced drink. It has the strength of a Vietnamese coffee and the smoothness of a latte. Not super sweet or creamy like a typical Vietnamese coffee, and it's almost refreshing after a heavy meal like the one we had, but it did make me a little jittery. According to the menu, Cafe Sojeata uses medium roast coffee, while the other one (Cafe Gambodge) uses dark roast. Atmosphere: 5/5. They're located in the corner of the plaza across the DoubleTree hotel on MacArthur Blvd. The interior is so cool - I liked the light neutral aesthetics combined with modern, minimalist cafe vibes and cultural elements. There are a few tables inside where you can chill, study, work, or catch up with friends. Staff and service: 5/5. The gentleman who worked there were very welcoming and friendly. They warmly greeted us, patiently described their current menu, and brought drinks out to our table when ready. They're in soft opening, so not all items are available to order, but they did provide a soft opening discount for us, which was so nice of them.

Almost missed this place because it's located in the corner and I didnt see the sign but word of mouth definitely helps! Heard about this place and was in the area so decided to stop by after grabbing lunch close by. Currently in their soft opening phase and I have no complaints. I got Blueberry matcha latte and it was super good! I loved the balance between the blueberry puree and matcha, nothing was overpowering. The place itself was very cute inside and aesthetically pleasing. My drink came out in a timely manner. Would definitely come back again!

    1. The coffee was strong, and I really like the organic milk! The tiramisu was well-crafted! 2. The spot has cozy casual vibes! The interior was nicely arranged and designed! 3. The staff was friendly and timely with our order! It came out in less than 10 mins! 4. There is only indoor seatings! There are few tables available! 5. 30min parking is available in the front! There are also parking garages! Note: This spot does have a shared room for studying or productivity! Photo: Cafe SOJEATA and Oreo Tiramisu

Great new coffee spot near work and we had to try it out. Soft opening when we visited and they have a limited menu. We are excited to come back and try more of their items. They have organic and non-GMO offerings. Currently they have sandwiches and desserts. They also have Cambodian cashews. I love cashews and I knew I was walking out with a bag for sure. We ordered the matcha and would like to try the coffee on our next visit. Great service. Parking is available in the structure if the open spaces are not an available. Please come and create your own adventure.

Stoped by while at a conference across the street, and singled I did! The matcha was really good with the perfect sweetness. My friends had other drinks and loved the coffee and the fruit drink too! Very nice staff, stayed later to let us order! The place itself is super clean, great seating and aesthetically pleasing! Can't wait to go back! Update - tried the coffee the second day and it's now my fave coffee! Rich in coffee flavor, perfect creaminess and just the right amount of sweet! No caffeine shakes for me which is a plus! Yum!!!

Upon entering the place looks beautiful! It feels like a welcoming space which it definitely is! Customer service was great! We were attended great and got great information about the drinks! I went with an iced pour over! The options they have are Medium and Dark Roast! I went with a medium and it did not disappoint! I enjoy drinking black coffee so I really enjoyed it! They sold out of baked goods but upon entering they had some sandwiches and they were just putting out macaroons! Will be back to try the matcha!

My fiancé and I love this new spot! We've never heard of Cambodian coffee before trying it here for the first time, and now we're pretty obsessed. I'm Vietnamese, but I've never been a huge fan of Vietnamese coffee because it's usually too sweet and has condensed milk. I usually try to avoid dairy products. Cambodian coffee is kind of similar to Vietnamese coffee, but it's more coffee-forward and not too sweet. You can also substitute with oat milk for free which is amazing. I consider it a nice treat since I still typically stick to black coffee, but I have tried my friend's drip coffee from here and that was good as well. My sister got an egg salad sandwich and their blueberry matcha latte and while those were yummy, I'd still say the star of the show is the Cambodian coffee. The space is pretty large and is a nice spot to study or lounge at. Decor is unique and we loved the small touches like the Cambodian art pieces. Regarding service, the owners seem to be in the shop every day and enjoy engaging with the customers. I spoke with them about how they source their coffee beans (from Cambodia!) and about their goals for this place. It beats the standard coffee experience you get at a place like Starbucks and we will for sure be back.

Sam is super nice! He gave us a discount and was also considerate about turning on the AC for us after asking if we were going to stay. The place reminds me of an art museum, and there's a nice study room. I appreciate the hooks for bags/purses. I thought the pistachio rose donut was so good, and the blueberry frukaline was refreshing!

Cool place! Didn't know Cambodian coffee existed but it does! Owner was cool and nice. Great ambiance!

This is a really cute and new coffee shop that opened recently and uses organic ingredients. Ordered the coffee sojeata which is their best seller and it was delicious. Also got the blueberry matcha latte and the matcha was very smooth and yummy and blueberry added the perfect amount of sweetness. Theres another room upon entering with lots of tables and chairs for studying. Wifi is fast. I like that the seats are comfy with cushions and tables are large and spacious. Also very aesthetic!!

When I say it's good, I mean it's so good I had to write a review IMMEDIATELY 5 minutes after I left. I personally don't have the biggest sweet tooth and am an avid coffee drinker. So, I've been hoping that a coffee shop would be opening up nearby and Sojeata did not disappoint!!! I'm only sad it took me this long to notice their shop (they're right on the corner of the plaza, next to Boil Daddy). Immediately when you walk in, you can tell they really took the time to make the place homey and welcoming to anyone ranging from a quick coffee run to studying for an important exam. They even have another room inside of the cafe for more study/work space! (And yes, they even have an outlet :-')) The person at the register, which I'm assuming is the owner, you can tell he really did pour his heart into the place. He talks about the menu with passion and he really cares about the ingredients he's selling. He makes sure that you don't feel hesitation to ask any questions and always makes sure to make you feel welcomed! (I wanted to ask questions but I was running late to work oopsssy) I read up on the reviews beforehand so I knew exactly what I wanted to get, and WOW. The cold brew (dark roast) is soooo good. I love me my bitter coffee but this literally was so smooth I was SHOCKED. And the blueberry matcha is not overly sweet where it takes away the flavor of the blueberry, almost like a blueberry donut but without the junk :-). Personally for me, I really loved both drinks and I cannot wait to try more of their menu!!! They also do have a fridge space of to go food. There's tuna salad, chicken salad, Black Forest ham and egg salad sandwiches. Also Oreo, biscoff, and pistachio ?(I think it might be a Dubai chocolate type of thing) tiramisu (which I will DEFINITELY be grabbing the Oreo next time), macarons, pasta salad, and some cookies and donuts at the register area. I also think the pricing is pretty fair especially with the volume of these drinks... I was expecting like 2/3 of this size but every other cafe I probably would have paid a little more for the quality and quantity I received. Support your local cafe and try Sojeata

I order the matcha iced latte with oatmilk and 25% sweetness and it was perfect and smooth. The staff here are super friendly as well. There is plenty of seating and wifi available. The interior is also very cute and clean, so it's a great place to get some work done. The owner also came by to give samples of the cookie and that was amazing as well. Really love how they pride using natural ingredients (no seed oils) in their drinks and food! They're currently in their soft opening so definitely come by to support this small business. Will definitely be back to get their coffee next time!

Even as the ice melted, it still tasted great, which is rare. The Torrance location was just as good! Parking was easier, the space is bigger, and the service was still super friendly and fast. My husband got the cold brew "Nook way" and finished it in like 10 minutes. He said it tasted like Golden Grahams cereal. Highly recommend both locations and especially the Spanish latte. Despite being relatively close to two major colleges - OCC and UCI - this place wasn't as crowded as you'd imagine it would be. They serve coffee, matcha, breakfast foods like breakfast burritos, protein bowls, avocado toasts - but I didn't pick anything to eat since I already had lunch. I shared with the barista that it was my first time here, and he asked what type of drink I was looking for. I told him something iced and caffeinated - and he mentioned his favorite was the Honey Cinnamon Latte - which I opted for - iced, with oat milk. Total was $8.50 including tip. My iced Honey Cinnamon Latte was yummy, creamy, and fantastic! With the oat milk substitute, it sorta tasted like Cinnamon Toast Crunch in liquid coffee form. It wasn't overly sweet, definitely had a nice kick to it - love this recommendation by the barista! I checked out the rest of the space and used their restroom to wash my hands - it's really a neat space here. Lots of seating. Lots of space. There's an adjacent room that's connected to the cafe called "Flow Space" - which is utilized for small popups and arts & crafts. Neat spot for smaller community members to showcase their wares. Some of the other reviews mentioned no a/c - which had me worried considering we were having a bit of a heatwave lately - but to my pleasant surprise, A/C was on and cold! It was a great escape from the heat. Free wifi - fast enough for a zoom call if you need to hop into one - my speedtest reported download speeds of 17.5MB/s Restroom is clean and well maintained. Plenty of parking - of course, I stopped by a little after 2pm, so already avoiding the tail end of the lunch rush. Only downside is they close kinda early - 4pm - but open up at 7am. Great spot! I'm curious to try their matcha the next time I'm here, as well as possibly their breakfast burritos, since photos for that looks delicious.

Honestly, this is truly such a great place to stop by get a tea or pastry. Love the drinks and love…read morethe food. Although I mainly go for tea right now and my family likes the food and sometimes coffee drinks. The pastries are really quite tasty. They have great coffee sticks which I might try next time too. The next time you go, try a pastry, so far I like the coffee cake muffin a lot, but the croissants are great too. Tell them Frankie sent you although it might but really get you anything. In just enjoy supporting great places who do things right.

I love stopping at Philz whenever I travel to California. I was introduced to them back in the day…read morewhen I was chilling in San Francisco. I love the quality of their beans. I was driving from Newport to Huntington Beach and came across this location in Costa Mesa. The store is a little hidden from the main road and not very spacious. But the drinks and customer service were great as always. I went in wanting to try something new, but defaulted as always to my longtime favorite Ice Mint Mojito. Phil Jaber founded Philz Coffee in 2003 and spent years experimenting with various coffee beans from around the world to create over 30 different unique blends. Each "cup of love" is custom made in front of you and finished off with their signature mint leave. The Philz baristas make sure your drink is to your liking before you pay. One thing that is unique about Phiz is that they don't do lattes or cappuccinos. The Mint Mojito Iced Coffee is their best seller and still my personal favorite. I ended grabbing one and a bag of coffee beans before hitting the road to my next destination.
