So I decided to give sojeata another try and it delivered. I decided to try a pandan foam cold brew with extra ice and its normal sweetness level is perfectly sweet for me. The drink was tasty. I also got to try their croffle and mochi donuts. The owner offers pastries so if you're looking for something to munch on make sure you ask whats available. They did fix the bathroom issue from last time and there are plenty of seats to enjoy a drink or stay longer to study. It was nice visiting again and learning about this place on my last visit. I look forward to trying their new products in the future. The craftsmanship of their drinks, passion for innovation, and attention to detail makes this place that much more special!
Downtown fullerton, street parking. Quite a lot of seating inside the cafe seems relatively new. They have a kiosk to order and a staff nearby to answer questions. But omg! Their service is so nice, kind of to par of orobae? But not as intense. Because my croffle took long they gave me a few mochi donuts. You go and pickup your order at the counter. The croffles aren't on the menu BTW, but they are on the kiosk. Also their ice cream spoons are soo cute!!! They also have yogurt drinks ( said they changed d/t yakult not being organic), and they're really nice about you modifying your drink without feeling like judgement/they are forced to smile. Condensed milk croffle- not too sweet. Nice crisp. If you've never had a croffle it was pretty good. Not too oily and was freshly warm Mochi donut holes- kind of taste like chewy churros Matcha strawberry- okay when they say their drinks are not sweet. The fruit jam ones are definitely sweet. For sure go to 50%-25%. FREE ALTERNATIVE MILK. Also toppings (boba/jelly) are more expensive, fyi. It didn't hit me as woah matcha, but a decent sippy matcha. Ice cream- sweet corn was sooo good. Its so hard to find sweet corn drinks, I hope they make some sort of latte/matcha drink with it ( does that sound crazy??) But please the only other one I know is like $10. The prices are pretty average for cafe. I'd recommend coming here if you want to chill with your friends~ very relaxed/college student ambiance. I can lowkey see this place getting popular and full though. Also I blacked out and spent $30 haha. So I would recommend the ice cream the most!
Great study and work place with outlets! Note the 2hr parking limit at this cafe. You order at the kiosk and they simply call you when your order is ready. The blueberry matcha latte with almond milk was not watery which can sometimes be a problem with almond milk. Good grade matcha and the blueberry was sweet and tart but too excessively sweet. I got my drink actually 25% sweetness which was good for me because I enjoy some sweetness form the blueberry but prefer a good strong matcha. I like how water cups are provided on the side with compostable straws. Currently they have mini AC units along the tables against the wall which is nice with an adaptor for multiple charging options so highly recommend for studying/working! Light faint jazz music in the background but not too loud since many also come to hang out and chat.
I was disappointed because I saw people posting about a a variety of flights and I really came to get the matcha flight that people were posting but it wasn't available when came, which was disappointing and we probably wouldn't have made the drive. I really have been liking einspanners as they're becoming more popular and I've been able to try more and more from different locations! I thought the einspanner here was good, not the worst and not the best! I thought it was cool and unique how you could add the ube cloud. The inside was ok. I think maybe previously there was a clean white aesthetic but it may have been lost over time. I can't really speak on the service was you just order through their kiosk. It's also street parking in DTF
Sojeata is so hip! I really do enjoy the ambiance is the shop and its display of Cambodian culture. The shop was packed on a Saturday afternoon, and I had high hopes for this spot, seeing this frequently on socials. There were a few people with laptops trying to do work/study, but I would say this spot is more ideal for socializing (it was pretty loud when I went). There is no active cashier but only a tablet self ordering station, but staff are friendly and helpful if you have any questions in the process. I ordered a matcha latte with oat, and my sister ordered a custom decaf vanilla latte drink which was actually off menu but kindly offered to us by who I assume is the manager or owner. I personally wasn't a fan of my matcha latte though as it really packed on the matcha flavor. However, the manager/owner was willing to modify my drink, and I really appreciated that. Parking in the lot next to the building is free (even though I went through the hassle of downloading the parking app). I was charge $0! So that's a plus. There's also limited street parking available in front of the shop. Overall, I think this is a quaint tea shop, and the service definitely makes me want to come back and give them another try!
I ordered a strawberry matcha latte and this one was very different than any other l've tried. The strawberry puree had a slight tanginess to it (in a good way), it was still balanced with the sweetness and tasted great overall. They claim that they use organic and natural ingredients and I could really taste the freshness in the drink. They also have a few other flavors of matcha lattes like blueberry and mango! SERVICE: I came here on a Saturday morning 15 minutes after they opened and there was no one working at the counter. They have a self ordering tablet, so I ordered but I was a bit confused on if there was anyone in the store or if it was actually open yet. I stood there for about 5 minutes until someone came out to give the drink to the person who ordered right before me. Just thought that was interesting to note haha AMBIANCE: There are lots of tables and chairs inside. Great place to do work or chat with friends! Parking was street parking or there's a nearby parking structure.
Order Rec- Hojicha latte w/ Ube cloud, normal sweetness and ice I really like the vibes of this cafe! Sojeata one of the few cafes in OC that open late. They have a decent amount of tables, outlets, and just the right amount of background music that keeps you stimulated but not distracted. This would be a great place to study or do work or do a quick catch up with a small group. Their menu is expansive with milk teas, fresh teas, fruit drinks, and matcha (although I would pass on the matcha latte/drinks here as it wasn't as strong and matcha-y to my liking). They have fun and unique toppings like the ube cloud foam and the sakura popping jelly. I would love to come back and try their food and snacks as well. other notes- easy and free street parking
Friend drove us to this place for boba after lunch. There is a huge parking lot is free until the evening to charge what we assume to be club goers. The most popular drink on Yelp seemed to be their Strawberry Matcha Latte. I got it at 100% sweet. The drink came out fairly quick. First impressions of the drink - not that sweet even at 100% sweetness but it has a really strong matcha taste. Further drinking, you'll notice that there is some strain of strawberry purée of some sort that packs the majority of the sweetness which is very creative unique, except I think I needed them to fill up 1/3 of the drink with that to compensate for the lack of sweetness. Their 100% sweet seems to be akin to other place's 25%-50%. My friends got their boba milk tea and it also ran into sweetness issue where they asked them to fix it and they gave them a saucer of syrup which actually did the trick.
Came here again to give it another chance & they added lots of new drinks on the menu :-) They also changed their cups & I lovv the new presentation of the cups. I liked the drink we got this time (matcha einspänner) but I do feel like they can use better quality matcha like the ktown matcha shops -- this would make the $8 price point of the drink worth it ! I'm a matcha connoisseur so I might be a teensy bit biased but I love my quality matcha ! still super yummy & the workers are so attentive. drinks came out pretty fast as well :-) my fav thing about this shop is the minimalistic aesthetic. this also seems like a nice spot to study -- it is pretty quiet inside and most ppl are on their laptops/ studying/ working.
Got the popular matcha einspanner w boba. It was almost $9 which is the most expensive drink I've ever payed for. I wished I got the regular matcha latte because the foam made the whole drink way too thick and creamy for me. The guy making the drinks was really nice! He asked if we had any questions while we were in line.
I can't get over how good this matcha was. I'm pretty basic so I don't like sprucing up my matcha lattes with flavor. I ordered the classic matcha latte and it was rich and vibrant in color. Every sip was creamy and decadent with a good hint of sweetness. I also tried my mom's blueberry matcha latte which I surprisingly did not dislike. It's not my type of drink but if it is yours, I would definitely recommend ordering it because it balanced the two flavors pretty well. I got to talk to the owner and he was so kind and told me about how much thought and effort goes into making each drinks, which I was able to see myself after trying it. I went on a Saturday and it was packed. There was no seating so I'd recommend going at an off-time or during the week. There's street parking and also public parking lots nearby since it's in downtown Fullerton.
Husband picked up blueberry matcha with cloud foam...but there is no matcha, just blueberry. Usually, it's made right but this time it wasn't. I wish I could drink it, but it's too sweet now :( There was no point in driving back and using mileage to get a new drink and phone call goes to voicemail. Whoever made the drink this time, please don't forget the matcha. A little sad, but hopefully next time matcha will be included.
Went to Sojeata today and it was packed . Lots of kids studying . People hanging out . Lots of seating. You order via iPad yourself. Luckily Lam had a few seconds and was able to give me recommendations while making drinks . Ended up with the espannier matcha. The drink was excellent. Foam was very good. Balanced and very cold . Matcha I could tell was high quality. The drink did take a bit longer than usual to get but worth the wait . Especially how crowded it was . I'll definitely find my way back and support Sojeata
This cafe was previously a churro shop but has now changed to an elegant and chic organic cafe, which is an amazing transformation. It is currently soft open. The name of the cafe captured my attention first because it sounded so beautiful and unique so I wondered if it meant anything. Sure enough when I met the owner and heard that it is named after his grandmother, it made total sense. The owner was very friendly and kind. He took his time to check how we were doing with our order and to tell us the behind story of opening the cafe. We felt how much he cares and loves not only the business but also the people who visits the cafe. The clerk who took our order greeted us with a big smile and kindly introduced their popular drinks, which one of them was oolong organic milk tea latte so I ordered that and chocolate fudge organic ice cream. Both of them were fantastic. The owner suggested pandan ice cream and brought one scoop as a sample for us to try. He was right. That was the one! Next time, I'm definitely ordering that ice cream. It was my first time coming and I was excited to try the matcha as I've heard great things about it and let me tell you, it had exceeded my expectations! I recommend trying the original matcha latte first before the other flavors to really taste that refreshing ceremonial grade matcha. I ordered the blueberry lavender with oat milk, which tasted so fresh! As a lavender lover, I love it when the flavor fills up all of my senses . Other places, I can barely taste the lavender or it's too sweet, but this one was just enough not to overpower the blueberry and matcha but still shine through with its herbiness. I got it with no sugar adjustments and it was not too sweet! They also offer milk substitutes at no extra charge (which is so rare for any cafe!!) I also decided to try the sweet corn ice cream, which the aftertaste tasted like I took a bite from the cob (love that). Ice cream was so so smooth and dense. I want to come back and try the other flavors I got to talk to the owner and learn more about what makes Sojeata stand out from other cafes. All of the syrups are made in house with organic fruits, which I can really taste in my drink! They also use alkaline water in all of their drinks and syrups which I have never seen being used at any cafe before. It makes the texture of each drink feel so smooth, it's a different experience! I happened to pass by on my way to get poke, and saw a soft opening sign! I was drawn to the clean, modern design and the nice ambiance of the spacious sitting area. They also had an air purifier on every table. I also liked seeing that they had key words on their menu like organic, fair trade, and no HFCS. I decided to get their ice cream, one scoop pandan and one scoop blueberry lavender, $12 for a double scoop. This was quite pricey in my opinion, but I was very interested in seeing if this would be my new go to ice cream spot. Sadly, it is not. The flavor was too sweet for the pandan, and not pronounced enough for the blueberry lavender. The blueberry lavender flavor felt kind of muddled and difficult to tell what it was. The ice cream itself was a little icy and not the soft creamy texture I was looking for. It was convenient to see all the options available on their menu, since the ordering was done on a kiosk. read more

Ambiance- 5/5 it's like your outside but you're inside. Great rocks, greenery, and wood decor. Especially in downtown Fullerton where it's very vintage. Drinks- Strawberry Matcha 3/5. Strawberry Yogurt 3/5 Matcha was a little too thick for my taste. The strawberry was tangy and made the drink a little off putting. Service- I think the owner served us and he was very very chilled and laid back when taking our orders. Parking- there is many lots around, few street parking. Great to walk around. read more
This place is my current boba fix spot. The owner mentioned that they prepare everything in-house, including the simple syrup. It's nice to have a Cambodian-owned spot in Orange County. There's usually always some seating available even though it is a very popular spot for the college students nearby. They mention that the straws are easily breakable which is true, so make sure to grab two. read more
Sojeata is now one of my favorite tea and ice cream shops in Fullerton! Everything I've had there has been so well done. The ice cream is my absolute favorite thing about sojeata. The flavors are unique and so delicious (the BISCOFF!!! Was AMAZING!!). I also enjoyed the sweet corn and pandan! The staff was also so generous in allowing us to sample and was so patient in explaining their menu to us. The drinks are all pretty light but the flavors were expressed very well and did not taste artificial. The interior is also very nice and clean and a good place to hang out with friends or study! read more

Came on a Saturday night and the line was long but moved fast. I ordered jasmine milk tea and pandan ice cream, jasmine milk tea ice cream was grainy(?) and had a strong jasmine floral flavor but not enough tea notes. The pandan was fine and kind of tasted like melona. However the worst part is that two scoops of ice cream was $12!! I get if they use quality ingredients but honestly I rather go get ice cream somewhere else that is cheaper cuz it didn't taste like $12. I like the ambiance but not enough for me to come back, since it's so packed in there. The servers were very attentive and helpful tho, so that gives them another star. Maybe they will be better during their grand opening since I think they are still in soft opening stages. read more
Really great tea flavor and chewy boba! Regular sugar is just right. Not too sweet! I personally love rose and early grey, so was excited to see both on the menu. Ended up ordering a rose Jasmine milk tea and it was super yummy! My sister liked the earl grey black milk tea she ordered. Lots of menu options and I like how they open late! Would definitely come back to try more drinks. read more

Sojeata is a brand new cafe that is still undergoing their soft opening phase as of Feb 12, 2024! Located in Downtown Fullerton, Sojeata's parking can be a little tricky as it's primarily street parking. However, there are some lots available within walking distance, so it isn't too difficult! When you walk in the cafe, you'll immediately notice how many students are there studying with a cup of tea/matcha by their side! According to the owner, they created this cafe with students in mind, so there are so many tables and outlets available, making this the perfect place to study! It's also open pretty late at night for those trying to study after a long day of classes.The cafe is cozy with an elevated vibe to it. I loved the interior and windows that allowed for a lot of natural light! When we were placing our order, Darren took our orders and he was so friendly! He was so excited to share with us the story of their cafe and also highlighted many of the popular items, as well as his own favorites. He even gave us a free sample of his favorite sakura blossom popping boba (which was so light and floral!) My friend and I ordered the lavender blueberry matcha latte with sakura blossom popping boba with regular sugar levels, and it was sooo delicious! You could really taste the floral from the lavender without it overpowering the rest of the drink! Event hough there were many strong flavors, it felt like the lavender and blueberry really complimented each other when mixed with the matcha! Just make sure that you stir your drink very well, otherwise you'll end up with a heavy amount of lavender and blueberry left over in the end. Overall, I loved checking out Sojeata and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in trying a new cafe study spot in the area! read more
Came on a Saturday night and it was poppin! Brandon (owner) was super helpful and accommodating. He gave us a rundown of the items and drinks. We ended up getting the peach yogurt drink less sweet. Apparently the Normal sweetness is approximately 75% sweetness at Sunright. Need to come back from the grand opening which is still TBD! read more

Went to this cute, aesthetic coffee shop in downtown Fullerton. Service: Friendly and prompt. Easy to order from tablet or barista! Drinks: I got the blueberry lavender matcha (75% sweetness) and my friend got the strawberry matcha (75% sweetness). Perfect flavors. Light non-syrupy delicious drinks. Highly recommend!! read more

So the first time I've tried their matcha is when my hubby had an event to attend in Fullerton and asked him to bring me some drinks somewhere closer to where he's at and i've yelped and looked and found this 4.5 star bubble tea shop. So he got me the blueberry lavender matcha and this is now my favorite drink ever!! He told me that the one who served him was nice because when he found out that my hubby has to drive home to LA County, he suggested he wont put ice so it wont melt by the time my hubby gets home!! By the way, I drink it the next day because hubby went home late so the next day I put ice on my matcha drink and it was heavenly!! The best matcha I've tasted so far.. still fresh and addicting lol. So now my hubby knows that when he passes by on Fullerton, he needs to buy me this drink!! The one in the picture is me because i finally got the chance to visit Sojeata!! The place is nice and clean.. Fully packed which im not surprised!! Gonna go back when Ive got a chance! :) read more

Needed a coffee place that was open late and this place was one of the few in the area and also recommended by my son's girlfriend. Open for just 3 months, was told by the employee taking our order that they are still in their soft opening after being open for 3 months now. I liked how the place was big and had lots of seating. You'll find it's a college students hang out as many are studying. I ordered the strawberry matcha and hot green tea. My friend just wanted coffee, but it was not available that night because the person who makes the coffee was coming back from a trip. First of all, I think when you are offering coffee in your establishment, you shouldn't rely on one person making the coffee. It should be made but other employees, so I'll have time to knock off a star for that alone. The strawberry matcha was very good and I had it with soy milk. Everything is organic here, no fructose sugar and no refined sugar. The hot tea is made with loose teas and not tea bags which I prefer better. Unfortunately, there are no pastries or any dessert type to have along with your drink. Maybe they will consider adding this one day. read more

Lovely ambiance. There was amazing service was helped with 3 different staff. Ran out of boba for 10 mins and manager offered a free scoop of their delicious vanilla ice cream along with their cute bamboo resusable ice ream spoons. :) has purifers(?) at many tables, very clean and the music isn't too loud. Got 2 drinks, jasmine milk tea latte w crystal boba and strawberry fruit tea with lychee jelly both were so yummy and tasted rly healthy and fresh. Total price was about $15 for small sized drinks so beware. Nice experience. Drinks are a bit pricy but you get what you pay for !! best of luck. read more

We got the biscoff icecream and it was sooo good!!! For drinks, we got the rose milk tea (very rosey, not sweet) and the blueberry (organic) lavender matcha latte (where the lavender overpowered the other ingredients :0) they said to let them know if i'd like adjustments to my drink. Next time, I'd ask for less floral syrup and a bit more sweetness. Also: - They don't charge extra for dairy substitute milk. - They use alkaline water (better for your body) - They use organic ingredients - They make their own ice cream! - The icecream spoons are reusable so you can take em home There seem to be enough seats (10+ tables, booth seating) But it does get crowded. Will be coming back for their ice cream!! read more
Love the aesthetic of Sojeata! The menu has some really good options as well. I really found myself struggling to pick one thing. They had run out of the milk tea flavored ice creams so we gave the sweet corn flavor a chance. It definitely tasted a bit like cold canned corn - but after a while it wasn't too bad at all. I ended up wanting more. Just slightly odd in the beginning. We also tried a mango yogurt drink. Unfortunately we did not enjoy the drink because although it was advertised as yogurt it wasn't a thick and creamy drink. It was a very thin consistency but it also wasn't a yakult-like flavor either (like at Ding Tea). So I'm not sure where the yogurt flavor comes in. It tasted like watered down tangy juice. Would come back to try some other menu items! read more

First of all, supporting my fellow Cambodians! I had to try this place out and man, it's so good! I got the dragonfruit passion tea with bursting dragonfruit boba. Thoughts? NOT TOO SWEET. This is a compliment all, a very subtle sweetness with a hint of bang from the bursting boba. I finished my drink in less than 15 mins tbh, that's how much I enjoyed it. I tasted the tea, the fruit and the boba. Not too much of one, it's mixed in well. Very harmonious. My boyfriend got the iced Earl Grey with crystal boba. My bf is an adventurer! For someone who knows absolutely nothing about earl grey, I think they persuaded him that whatever he drank, it was delish. Again, he said not too sweet, no bitterness, not too much milk. Tasted like it took some time to prepare. He finished it as soon as he got home, haha. The vibes are very minimalistic and serene. Kind of like, stepping into a spa after a long day of work? Neutral colors all around, nice seats, and a very clean environment. The owners are so sweet though. Being humble and inviting made the shop more welcoming. I appreciate the extra hospitality. The Oolong Milk Tea has the perfect balance of creamy milk and strong oolong tea flavor. The tea was rich and fragrant. The Wild Blueberry Matcha is a delightful surprise. The earthy and bitter Matcha flavor perfectly paired with the sweet and tart blueberry. I got 25% sugar level so the drink was not overly sweet and the flavors blended together harmoniously. Love the interior decorations with bunch of houseplants. Very aesthetic. read more
In a town with no shortage of milk tea boba tea options, I'm happy to recommend this unique spot. What stands out: fresh made so you can customize everything and actual cream (not powdered coffee mate stuff like all the rest). The tea is perfectly strong, not weak, not bitter. Also, Easy ordering at their little iPad; it's even easy to customize your order. If you need help or have a question, just ask. It's also notably calm and not noisy like the k pop tea joints. 100% recommend if you actually like tea and real ingredients over the sugar, syrup gunk that boba tea spots normally serve up. read more

The ice cream flavors were good. The area was clean, and had a nice aesthetic. You order on an iPad and they call out your order. I would like to try their drinks next time. The pandan tasted like buko pandan and candy-like. The best one was the sweet corn in my opinion. read more

I'm sitting here for the second time in 3 days, with what's becoming my usual order: the ceremonial matcha einspanner with sakura boba, and a croffle (matcha, this time). Sojeata isn't the most convenient boba place for me. I'm fortunate to be a ~15 minute drive, though, because - of all of the boba I've ever had since my discovery of this magic 18 years ago - Sojeata is the best. It's just that simple. The owner is one of the friendliest guys I've ever met, and you can tell how much he cares about his craft. The boba is delicious - if you get the brown sugar boba, you can actually taste the hint of molasses to go with the perfect mouth feel. They have the best matcha, they use milk instead of creamer, their jasmine is fantastic, and the ice cream and croffles are wonderful as well. The building vibe is chill, lots of students working on assignments and chatting, with great acoustics meaning it's quiet enough I can easily hold a conversation with my fiancée. I'm so excited to make this one of my regular haunts! read more
So excited to try this new cafe in Fullerton after hearing great things about it! The interior is very bright and sunny with the huge windows. STRAWBERRY MATCHA $7.25 -all I could taste was the strawberry syrup -watery matcha flavor ;/ -pricey for the quality received It's a great place to do work/study! I came for the soft opening. I was gifted a boba tea glass from a friend. I was instructed to come receive my free drink. The soft opening is still going on buy 1 16oz get a free drink but the larger and get 2 drinks. Chill place to study, family friendly. Love the matcha blueberry here!! It's a great matcha flavor with a hint of blueberry and little blueberry bits - it's not too sweet and very refreshing - I love the aesthetic of the coffee shop, very modern looking with a hint of Asian decorations. It seems like a good place to study; the air purifiers on every table takes up some table space and seems a bit excessive but can't wait to try more drinks here :) read more
After my trip back from Japan, I was FIENDING for a boba drink. Sojeata hit the spot perfectly! My friend was the one who actually told me about this spot. However, whenever we try to go, it was always closed since Mondays are the days that we coincidentally think about this spot. Yesterday was the first time I was able to finally try it with another one of my friends. The three of us walked on into there, and it was PACKED. Even around 9:30 PM, there was a bunch of people just studying and chatting in the store. It is a perfect place to study at in my opinion because it was open, clean, and spacious. I love how zen everything feels with the little plant decors against the wooden walls. After deciding on what to order, I went with the Blueberry Lavender Matcha with boba. And let me tell you, once I took a sip.. It was game over - probably one of the best blueberry lavender matcha drinks I have ever tasted. Aside from it being a bit expensive for a boba drink, I would wholeheartedly say I would come back again and again just for how smooth/creamy the drink was. The tapioca balls itself were just the right amount of chewy and soft that I immediately deemed it to be one of my top five boba places I have ever been to. The only complaint I have is the straw broke pretty easily that I had to change it twice, but I am a straw-biter as well. So, that's not their fault! The service here is A1! I did not get the cashier's name, but I do know that he was the owner. He was very personable and was telling us about his journey with the shop. He mentioned having a mochinut collaboration soon with Fill's, so I definitely will be coming back for that! He was super passionate about his business, and I wish him nothing but the best with where the store is headed towards in the near future. read more

This place is aesthetic in itself and the drinks are so fresh and rich in flavor. A little unexpected to be honest since most milk tea drinks taste the same-ish to me after a while, but this place I can truly taste a bit of the difference in with the ingredients they use. Coming with a wide variety of options Sojeata is the number one spot to get your favorite milk teas, ice cream with an artisanal twist. The place was packed to the brim even at 7ish and a plus they open late to 11. Besides the crowd, there was extra bench seating and even more in the back I believe. Being their soft opening, we wanted to test the grounds and get some atypical drinks being the Organic ceremonial matcha with strawberry and the Rose Organic Milk Tea Latte. Originally, I wanted the Thai Tea but unfortunately they ran out and even without a moment passing they offered a discount just for the minor inconvenience. Rest assured the staff are sweethearts and super friendly even going so far as to offer to remake our drinks if they weren't up to our satisfaction. The drinks themselves were amazing with the strawberry matcha being the right touch of sweet for my friend and my Rose being the right balance of tea, floral, and creaminess.
