So wonderful to be back in this comfortable environment for work or relaxation after so long. Makes you treasure the important things. The new owner has continued the great traditions here and made has own impression on the place. The menu of drinks and food is basically unchanged, with a few new things to try. I was coming in for a large latte and happened to have my laptop with me but had a bit of trouble connecting to the wi-fi. Any other place would have said, "tough luck buddy." You know what they did at Sojo? The manager emerged from the back office and started to work out my networking issues on my laptop! And when that didn't work he produced a ladder and proceeded to retrieve an unused ethernet cable from the ceiling just so I could connect and enjoy my stay! Remarkable. Will return! read more

I've been driving through the Florida and Holly intersection for years and have been eyeing up Sojourners for way too long. After moving into the neighborhood a few months back, I knew I finally had to try this little coffee shop. While the facade doesn't necessarily grab your senses, once you step inside, you are welcomed into this perfect little shop full of delicious scents, warm colors, plenty of tables, comfy chairs, and locals reading, working, and knitting. (I've happened upon a group of sweet old ladies having a knitting club a few times, adorable!) Plenty of amazing coffees, teas, and treats abound. The bhakti chai is absolutely amazing. It's definitely my favorite chai around town. While I only drink teas, there's a plethora of coffees from which to choose. I've stolen a few sips from the BF's coffees a few times and they too are awesome. I've also got to mention that the fantastic French baked goods come from Trompeau, no wonder I was drooling over the lemon croissant! While I haven't had a chance to return for breakfast or lunch, the food menu is quite extensive and looks super delicious. I am so happy that Sojourners is just down the street from my apartment and on my way to work. What a great cafe for this part of Denver! read more

Sojourner's is like a little oasis out on S. Holly! It's a lovely little coffee shop with friendly folks, fine coffee (Novo), and free Wi-Fi. They also offer a little selection of snacks and non-coffee drinks which is always a plus. Seating is plentiful and variable with comfy chairs or regular worker bee tables. And no one minds if you stay for a while whether you are reading, working, chatting, or just hanging which makes it have the awesome neighborhood coffee shop feel. I don't live in the area, but if I did I could easily see myself making this my coffee shop home-away-from-home. read more

I don't know why it's taken me so long to realize that this is my neighborhood coffee shop. I suppose it's because I don't drink coffee. Technically, it's in the next neighborhood over and there's a coffee shop much closer to my house but it's a popular chain. Sojourners is cute and cozy and a great gathering spot. You can get locally roasted coffee from Coda and/or Novo, I believe. I get a Bhakti chai latte myself. There is also pastry case full of treats from local bakeries. If you need something more substantial, you can choose from a variety of tasty, grilled to order breakfast and lunch paninis. Service here is very relaxed so you'll have plenty of time to check out the rotating collection of local art, chat with friends, or play around on your electronic device of choice. So come in, sit, relax, play a board game, read a book, knit, and enjoy. Except on Sundays, when they are closed. read more

An unlikely spot serving up Bhakti chai which is rare down south (where chain coffee places with cake batterlike chai are the exception versus the rule). Parking lot is a tad dicey but the inside is like a little cafe oasis with stay-at-home moms meeting up for a snack and coffee after their fitness routines. I don't really drink coffee at this juncture in life (but that will probably change once I go on vacation to somewhere with delicious coffee) but there appeared to be more emphasis on a dozen flavored lattes (pumpkin mocha, anyone?) versus really good, no frills espresso (again, just an observation versus actual experience). Counter service was really friendly which is much appreciated and my Bhakti chai came out quick and was delicious as usual. Food and pastry offerings looked tasty and the actual shop looked like a nice place to hang out with ample seating. It's a 15 minuteish drive from work, but probably the closest source for an after lunch Bhakti chai fix. read more

Like that atmosphere and the coffee isn't bad. The experience wasn't the best though. I ordered a small beve latte and a egg, tomato, avocado, and onion panini to go. The panini took about 15 minutes and when I got to my destination found there was no tomato or onion. AND I was charged full price - more than the veggie burrito they were out of. If they were short on ingredients she could have just said so. Lying to a customer's face is very bad service. Who knows, maybe it was a fluke I'll try one more time before not going back. read more

While I had heard good things about Sojourners, I don't know if I would have ever made it if Wanda C hadn't suggested it for us to meet at. I'm glad she did! Sojourners is a nice little spot that has both comfy chairs and tables. There is plenty of space to linger and enjoy your coffee and conversation. Additionally, my nonfat latte was lovely. While there are plenty of coffee shops that make lattes, not all them can make a good latte. Sojourners does and that makes me a fan. I'm new in town and a writer. I love to write in coffee shops and once I find a good one I will be loyal. Went to Sojourners today and liked it quite a lot. I ordered the Mocha Picante which had just enough spice to keep me interested as well as excellent espresso. I also ordered a truly gigando blueberry scone which I must say was bananas-good. A meal in and of itself. I gobbled it all down and then spent an additional hour or so there. It was certainly very pleasant. Not sure whether it will turn into a permanent spot or not; most of the seating is hard wood as opposed to cozy chairs and couches, though there is a spot with same (it was occupied). Barring that the decor, all things considered, was really quite nice. (Interesting art, eclectic edible offerings -- I got the Tobasco chocolate out of sheer curiosity.) Great service; nice girls, extremely down to earth and helpful. Big smiles on their faces, which is always good. All in, a very good experience. read more

I ordered a large almond milk cappuccino and received a regular size (small) cap. She remade it and then made it with soy this time (good thing I don't have a soy allergy). I took a sip and thought it tasted funny, asked her if it was almond milk, she said no. She made it again. This time it's the right drink and the right size, except it was below average. It wasn't very good at all. Very weak tasting like they don't use a lot of coffee in it. She did give me a coupon for a free drink which was nice. I tried to order the prosciutto and provolone panini on GF bread, but they were out of gluten free bread at 9:00AM so, bummer for me :( I sat down to do some work and had a difficult time establishing and keeping internet connectivity on their network. It would be very poor or no connection. At times it was strong (like for a minute or so) and then go back out again. Basically not worth sticking around for, or going back. I had high hopes based on reviews. Oh well. I am very happy to see that Sojourner's has finally opened for business. I have been anxiously watching the construction. I have visited a few times, and will be back often. The coffee is good, I recommend the orangutan, this is my new addiction! All I know is that it is flavored with orange and it is yummy! Service is super friendly and helpful. My only wish for this place is that it would have more of that coffee house feel. There are only 2 sofas, the other seating areas are cold tables and booths. I like to cozy up in coffee shops with a the newspaper on a big sofa! That's just me though! read more

I noticed this little java hut on Florida & Holly, and decided to stop by one morning before work. It was a very cozy place to hang out with a book. Plenty of table space, and a lounge area with plushy chairs, a table and a board games shelf. They brew Novo coffee, which is rad since it's local. I opted for a cup of their Ethiopian, and he poured me the very last of what was in the vacuum pot. It was bitter enough that it made my teeth rattle on the first sip! I contemplated sugar and creamer, which borders on sacrilege for this coffee drinker, but finished it black. I went back for another cup, thinking the freshly brewed pot would be better. The flavors were indeed more well rounded, but that bitterness was still there. Blech. I'll be back because it had a great vibe. Friendly folks. But I'll stay away from the drip and have some espresso. read more

This place is a hidden gem! I live nearby and finally after driving by for about three months, I finally stopped in this past weekend. I am so glad I did. I started by ordering an earl gray cambrick and it was so delicious I hopped back in line to order a panini. The cambrick was the best I've ever had - no need to go to starbucks and pay $5 for one when this is cheaper and wayy tastier! The panini was good. I tried the egg, avocado, tomato and onion although I wanted to try the Lox but they were sold out. I went back in this morning and was pleasantly surprised with their oatmeal. It's only $2 and you can pick up to three ingredients to throw in there. I spent a total of $5 for tea and breakfast. You'd be hard pressed to find that deal and the same quality anywhere else. The ambience is amazing! Upon walking in, you feel like you've stepped into such a community. There are all sorts of people and if you're standing around, don't be surprised if you suddenly find yourself swept up in conversation with a stranger. Unacceptable wait time. I waited for 45 minutes for a late and for my quiche to be heated up. The almond milk was scorched and the quiche was still cold. There were probably 7 other people at the coffee shop. As a fellow barista, the lack of professionalism was horrid. I would have refunded everything if I ever made someone wait that long for something so simple. This coffee shop just lost my business. Do better! read more

So, I journeyed over to Sojourners for the 1st time after a long time of passing this place & living by it. It has a kitschy/eclectic vibe (but not in the "it was decorated by a young hipster" way but rather in a "my dad decorated this place after he collected pictures and stuff from his Nepal trip" way). The interior has some random decor like a window curtain made from Thai fabric (?) for part of the window but none for another pane, an outdoor umbrella with Christmas lights on the ceiling in the interior, some upside down pottery tea saucers as lights, vintage luggage, postcards, a globe & a bunch of other knick knacks to fit with the Sojourner theme. They serve Novo & Coda coffee & they have a menu full of fun concoctions! I was surprised to see that they had lots of interesting teas & latte flavors outside the standard vanilla & caramel. For instance, I had the Bluebird mocha latte in a medium for $4.09 & it had huckleberry flavor in it. It was really yummy! I would totally go for a cup of this stuff as dessert since I don't indulge in flavored coffees too often. It was a tad on the sweet side but not offensively so. There seemed to be a film of caramel @ the bottom of my cup toward the end. I finished 75% of it within 5 minutes & only reserved the rest so I could savor it a little more. I really like how patrons here are a huge mix of people of all ages & motives. There were people working on their laptops, people privately reading, couples on dates, old ladies meeting for paninis (or breakfast burritos!) & teas, folks on the couch who looked like they were catching up, etc. There's only 1 outdoor table with an umbrella for outdoor seating. There's a private parking lot so that's a bonus. They played Lynyrd Skynrd's Simple Man & the Shins "Caring is Creepy" during my stay here- that was a really nice treat :). read more

They are open from 6 am to 6 pm on weekdays and have a very pleasant interior. They get a four for the location alone, at Holly and Florida where there are a number of other businesses on three corners. There are already enough people frequenting this place to give it a proper atmosphere. They have the standard espresso drinks, plus bottled soda and juices, a house-menu Mocha with spiced chocolate and a luscious sounding orange flavored coffee drink. They also have Panninis and a range of baked goods and quiche. We had an Oogave rootbeer, a soy latte served in a proper cup with a generous sprinkle of sweet cinnamon and a better than average presentation, a chocolate biscotti, and a cranberry scone. The latte was very nice. The Oogave rootbeer, a unique brand, did not have enough sassafras for me but I grew up where you could pick it. iI was sweet. Disclaimer: I am a caffeine addict not a coffee expert, and the one thing that disqualifies espresso in my mind is rank bitterness except if you are having a straight shot and even then I like it with a twist of lemon. In particular, the scone was better than average, maybe because she offered to heat it and it was moist and sweet crumbly, more cake-like than the common sawdust flavor you get so many places. Probably not like a real scone but how would I know? All my Scottish ancestors are dead. read more

I had the best experience here this week. A friend of mine and I keep planning to stop in to Sojourners and finally made it there! The only problem was, we arrived at 6:05pm and they close at 6pm. You should have seen our sad faces when we walked up to the door. And the employees must have seen it to, because just as we were getting back in the car, one of them came out and offered to make drinks for us. The atmosphere has a really laid back, trendy feel to it and my peppermint mocha was so incredible! I will definitely be back for the live music on Thursday nights! read more

Hands down some of the best coffee I've had in Denver. I was so happy when I decided to try this place out after driving by it so many times. I'm a big time espresso snob, and these guys know their stuff. Espresso here is almost always made spot on, and foam for lattes and caps are great - The milk is never gross or burnt tasting from over steaming, its nice and sweet. They also offer 2 different brands of espresso beans, Coda or Novo, both local roasters (and sometimes beans from other small roasters). Further testament to their amazingness. I prefer Coda. I wanted to cry tears of joy when I received a bitter tasting latte and the barista pulled out a little coffee tasting spoon to sample the shots of espresso before making me a new latte. You just don't find that often here in CO even at some of our most infamous local coffee houses. Service might be a little slow at times. Employees take their time, and you can taste it in the quality of the espresso. So, I'm happy to wait. If you are looking for the kind of coffe you can get at Starbucks or every other coffee shop, this isn't your place. If you want to drink coffee the way the gods intended for it to be enjoyed come here. read more

This place used to be very good until they hired certain employees who have no idea how much better the coffee and sandwiches were before they were hired. And, they don't seem to care. So good luck coming here. Today, for example, June 12th, 2013, 6:30 am. I ordered a French Press and I was given a pot not of dark roast like I had ordered but of light. It tasted like "used light," maybe a bit of used Instant Sanka. Really bad. And I didn't order a lox, toasted bagel, capers, and cream cheese sandwich like I once used to do, because the one I'd previously ordered two weeks before was utterly awful. At that time I complained to the employee (the same one as today), and she remonstrated with me. Not only was the sandwich smaller by almost a half, but it was cold, too, or lukewarm, and served on a salad plate. Atrocious. This place has gone too far downhill. I won't come here anymore. There are other better places. If I'm going to spend twelve bucks on my early morning coffee shop visit, then it'd better be good. And Sojourners is not good and apparently they don't care. read more

I meet a friend here regularly. It is a great atmosphere in which to visit and enjoy a coffee. The pastries (from Trompeau) are amazing as is our many things. unfortunately, for me, one of the things that is not great is... The coffee! Maybe my tastes were changed when I lived in Italy, but the coffee here taste like a hybrid between coffee and black tea. It's just a little light for a real coffee flavor. My new favorite study spot. You can get a pot of loose leaf (delicious) tea for $3 and a laid back, welcoming atmosphere at no cost! There are ample small tables for small talk with a girlfriend, first date, or uninterrupted study. The outlets are smartly outfitted with power strips/power octopi which ensures availability for all and minimizes turf wars. I've also had the latte here which was quite good and featured the foam designs usually reserved for Instagram. In short, a well kept secret that I'm reluctant to blab about. read more

Very friendly staff and absolutely adorable lobby! I ordered a chai and honestly did not enjoy it, but the barista was kind enough to remake it for me (which I rarely ask to) and it was delicious! LOVE THIS PLACE! Great local art, great community vibe, a tea selection that made a tea snob like me happy and allowed me to try a tea I've never had before (and will be back for).
