My experience with Sol-Up was fantastic. I definitely did my homework and got quotes from all the major companies in Las Vegas. I narrowed it down to Robco and Sol Up because I knew I wanted LG or Panasonic panels. Dan at Sol-Up eventually won me over though because his service was unbeatable. He was thorough, honest and the price per panel was just a little bit better. It took about a month to get scheduled for install but when the day came, Louie, Keeton, Oscar, and Ellie were on time, extremely professional, and did a beautiful job on the install. I looked for a solar provider for several months when I knew I was buying a home in the very near future. Sol-up had the best ratings and they deserved them. They were a bit hesitant to give me a system as big as I wanted, theoretically I shouldn't need one that big. But my house the way it's built & the current heating system is an electric hog. They were a pleasure to work with. The delay from start of discussion to switch flipped on was about 3 months total. System was installed exactly as they said it would be ON TIME. Delay was NV power. My bill was cut down to a fraction of what it was for the prior owners. ( I have a copy of their bill for some months). I did make a change of putting more LED bulbs in however. Personally I'm paying LESS with the solar payment plus the electric bill & I will have the solar panels for years & years. Physician here. I contracted with Sol-up to install a solar system on our house. Huge mistake. On the day of installation, despite not completing the job, Sol-up demanded full payment. I had already paid a $1,000 deposit and the balance was due upon completion of installation per the terms of our contract. After the first day of installation, they had yet to install the bird wire, hook the system up to wifi, inspect it, paint the conduit, etc., but they were demanding full payment - first at the job site and then that evening by email from the CFO no less. When I responded that they were in breach of our agreement and had yet to honor our contract, they were barely deterred. 2 months later, they were scheduled to complete installation by installing the bird wire. They didn't. Instead, and without my permission, they installed an ugly black mesh that I had not contracted for and had previously rejected. Then they demanded payment. After admitting in writing that the contracted bird wire had not been installed, they continued to demand payment. The simple solution here would be to remove the bird mesh and replace it with bird wire (which I requested), but apparently, that's not how Sol-up rolls. Just received an email giving me 2 days to pay or they'll lien my house. Do yourself a solid and choose a different solar provider. If I had to do it again, I would never contract with Sol-up. read more

Total waste of money. Paid $16,000 for the system the first month it saved me $16. Called Sol-up, they want to act like I would have had a $500 bill instead of $227 bill because of the system but when I call NV Energy they said my bill would have been $243 without the system. At this rate, it will take 83 years for the system to pay for itself. And all they do is talk around us in a circle, claim things are contradicted by NV Energy and act like we'll make it up in a year. I would stay away from this company and solar in general because it only benefits NV Energy to get its alternative energy commitments met and the customer pays with no significant savings. read more

After extensive research, I chose Sol-Up over two of their competitor. Not only was their price the lowest but the competitors used Enphase products which gives a 25 yr warranty but the company is not close to being financially stable like SolarEdge. If you Google you can read about their financial troubles. There really is no choice here as it just doesn't make any sense to go with a company that's backing the warranty if they are not financially stable. And Frank, the owner, has his choice of which solar products to use and given that he is an engineer who has studied the solar industry extensively he has compelling and logical reasons in his choice of SolarEdge. Having a 25 yr Enphase warranty on a solar system that has not been in use that long in the dessert sounds like a marketing technique to get more business and if Enphase which seems to be having some problems fails there goes the warranty. Potential customers in Nevada should realize with the solar law change to benefit consumers now is the time to get solar panels as the net energy credit on excess energy return to the grid is now 95% and will never be higher and only goes down over time for new customers. I looked at and compared several solar companies over five months. No company would come to my home for a site review, discussion of their product, or explain the tax credit issue. Sol-up did. I chose Sol-up because they took care of everything from the HOA request, city permits, etc. Their reviews were better than everyone else, and their price fell directly in my zone. So, they got the job. 3 weeks later, five Sol-up installers arrive on time and begin the install. Each one wearing their Covid mask. I reached out to 3 highly rated solar companies to get bids on repairing a broken unit that a worker broke and didn't tell us and installing more units to get as close to zeroing out the energy bill since the house has two more additions since the original install in 2014. Sol Up was one of the 3. It was disappointing when they did not show up for the appointment they set with us on February 12. I called when they were not there 90 minutes past the appointed time. Andrea said they were overbooked with installations. Glad they are busy, but don't know what that had to do with showing up on an appointment they booked. So, February 13, two men showed up and spent several hours on the roof. As a goodwill gesture for not showing up the day before, Scott bypassed the broken unit so the other 9 in one string could still perform. They took great care to understand what we have and where new units could be placed. We were impressed. Fast forward to February 22, a Friday - 9 days later. I have to call them again to find out where the bid is and if we missed it, as we wanted to compare their analysis and proposal to another company's prompt, professional bid. Andrea told me Zach should have reached out to me, that we had missed no proposal, and that he was in a meeting and would call me after he got out. Friday's business day ended with no call. Must have been a long meeting. So, I left a message saying they had until Monday, the 25th, to get something to us, thinking that a couple of weeks is adequate time to get numbers to a prospect you know to be motivated to BUY. Nothing. So, I called today, February 26, to tell them to forget it. Too bad the admin behind the scenes are not buttoned up. I would sure hate to be Andrea apologizing all the time and putting people on hold to check with whoever didn't do their job. We were sure expecting more from this company with a fine history and so many other great reviews. It does not feel good to be the ones who fell through the cracks. Bummed. Fast forward less than 1 hour - Sol-Up owner, Frank, called and talked to Doug - not me, the Yelp poster. Mistake. We women are the communicators in most situations. He was apologetic, of course. Said they would not be able to do anything with our old system and it should be torn out. New, pricy inverter needed to work with a whole new type of system. This per my sweetheart, since I never talked to Frank, so, that's rumor, I guess. Their competitor with the prompt bid also said they could not add to our current system, as the inverter is maxed out, but it is working fine. They would repair the broken panel and simply add a new type of inverter to work with new, different panel types for the house expansions. Leave our old, functioning system alone. Made sense. Why did this not occur to the experienced pros at Sol-Up? Maybe we misunderstood something, but it doesn't matter. The buying door is closed to Sol-Up. read more

SolUp is far and away the solar company for me, and you too! I looked at solar panel installation for over a decade. In the past, the estimates were outrageous in price, the panels had a short life, and none of the companies I spoke with were successful in convincing me that they stood behind solar production estimates. In fact, I heard quite a few horror stories connected to other solar companies not standing behind what they proposed. Along comes SolUp. Michael Sweet came by for an appointment. He was knowledgeable, courteous and gave me as much time as I wanted to ask any questions. Michael presented all of the aspects of solar professionally. Michael, presented 2 major changes in solar that were previous obstacles to committing to installation, and they were game changers. The first new item was that the newer solar panels had triple the total life span of some of the older panels, which meant that I would not be replacing panels in my lifetime. The second big change was that manufacturers, like Panasonic, offered a guarantee on solar production proposed. If the system does not deliver the proposed energy, Panasonic covers the cost of additional solar panels to meet the proposed production. Throughout the process of purchase and installation, SolUp could not have done a better job communicating. They were in constant contact about every phase of the process. Everyone I spoke to was professional and kind. There were never any gaps in communication or attention. Once the system was operational, Tori-Lee Crump came by to meet with me. This was an impressive young lady. Tori was very knowledgeable, answered all of my questions, and went through the system from beginning to end. Tori helped me update my Solar Edge App and explained features that I could access that were very helpful. She also gave me a brief tutorial on production comparison information that I was interested in. Over all, SolUp is off the scale. There is just nothing to complain about and everything to praise. My system is producing exactly as presented and I am looking forward to net zero energy costs. A great start, solar went active May 11, which is a week after my NV Energy bill cycle began. I decided to go with Sol-Up based on a friend's recommendation and from the initial meeting all the way to the end, Sol-Up did a great job providing info and executing what they said they would do. There were a few logistical hiccups along the way but they were corrected as soon as they could be and majority of the time, they made it a point to follow-up and address any issues stemming from said hiccups. Overall, it took about 5 months to get everything set due to the thorough process but all came great and the installation was flawless. It's important to find the right solar company because you have to live with your solar panels for about 30 years, and you pay a new car price for it. I researched and interviewed 8 different companies (local & national) and ended up choosing Sol-up. Grant was the most honest and informative sales rep I've talked to. He quickly replied to my emails and text messages, and he answered all my questions in detail. Krystelle was very polite and friendly. Sol-up did everything to get permissions from the city, NV energy and even my HOA except getting signatures that I had to get from my direct neighbors required by my HOA. So after signing on the contract they set up the date to install my solar panels right away. 5 professional installers came early in the morning and asked to open my garage door. I was afraid to keep my garage door open all day but two trucks were blocking the view and they didn't leave my house until the installation was completed. They started about 630am and finished at about 130pm. Overall my experience with Sol-Up is very satisfactory. Unlike other companies that take so long to process anything, they work really fast and accurate. One home inspector guy from Sol-up came to inspect my roof and I told them where exactly I wanted the inverter to be installed. I forgot what I said so I asked one of the installers. He showed me the photo of my garage with exact spot drawn on the photo. Even though many companies have reviews that after service/ guaranteed warranty sucks (like they never come to check the system as they promised, no actual office in town, charge extra for shipping, took months to fix, etc.) I think I can believe Sol-up because they have actual office in Las Vegas and I've never seen a bad review about A/S. After several years of procrastination and dealing with Nevada's net-metering snafu I decided to look into solar once again. After hours of research I picked 5 solar companies to interview, one a day for a week. The first 4 days were discouraging, one highly rated company's salesperson showed up totally unprepared, but I did ask one company to return for a second interview. By Thursday afternoon I'd pretty much had my fill of inverters, panel manufacturer pros & cons, and warranty details. The last company on my list was Sol-up. Sol-Up's rep showed up right on time and lo and behold it was the company owner, Frank Rieger. Herr Rieger was beyond prepared. His company had done their homework and prepared a thurough review of our home and electrical consumption. The equipment that Sol-Up installs is topnotch and backed by the best warranty in the U.S. Frank was able to answer every question I had and then backed it up with facts. He posed several installation options that were overlooked by others, invited me to visit his operation, and to contact any of his customers for validation. I took him up on the visit and customer contacts. This sealed the deal and we moved forward with the install. Mother nature intervened last week but our install was completed today. I can't say enough about their install crew, Domi, Andrew, Geo, and crew lead Grady. They were simply fabulous! I have had a solar system on my house for 3 years and was not able to make it work. I have contacted multiple companies to fix the problem no one found the issue. Before I decided to remove the system, I decided that one last try before getting rid of it. I contacted Sol Up and book an appointment. The technician, Joseph, was on time, cordial, professional and knowledgeable. He look at the inverter, and the entire system, took 35 minutes. After his inspection he calls me back, shows me the inverter and told me that the system is in working order. He also took the time to look at the roof and informed me that I needed to fix a few things. After countless door knockers kept pestering me, I finally decided it was time to explore solar. I called and talked with many companies before narrowing the list down to three that were locally owned. I admit that at this point I had done more research than most consumers but the attentiveness, 25-year warranty and the no pressure sales call I had with Dan made picking Sol-up easy. Undertaking a project during a pandemic made some things a bit challenging but Dan, Krystal, Autumn, along with the rest of the team made this whole process almost effortless. After multiple iterations we settled on a system that provided for more than 110% offset that will be paid off in less than 7 years. The higher offset was to future proof my system for its expected 25-year lifespan and the possibility that electric cars would be commonplace. From the included bird proofing to the painting of the tiny bit of exposed conduit so that it matched the stucco, I feel Sol-Up did not miss a thing.
