The price quote was higher than I expected. But even with her offering to charge less with the no bleach method. I ended up doing the full grey coverage, bleach, silver tone balayage. Warning it's not a bougie salon, and the chair is not comfortable to sit in for over 5 hours. It was my first time seeing her and I wanted to see what the results were. The bleach or grey coverage does sting a bit but Kim stepped out for lost of the time the color was developing. She's very nice and considerate and did a good job not staining my skin. She spent a lot of time explaining aftercare. Freshly made up hair in the salon looks nice and I was happy with the cut. Once I got home, I was impressed at how healthy my hair felt after the bleach. But I did notice the cut is a little more shaggy. Maybe because it was cut after it was blow dried. It's been almost 2 weeks and the silver tone has washed out a bit. The coloring still looks nice and I'll use some purple shampoo and conditioner like she suggested. I feel like I might have paid more than I should have, or maybe I just expected more.

Neck pain no more, there is no porcelain slab jabbing into your skull while you sit for a rinse and shampoo. Every step is also methodical, from little ear covers to keep the bleach from irritating skin to the most perfectly wrapped towel to keep your wet hair from dripping on you. There's snacks and refreshments too, for those long sessions of a color/bleach appointment. The best part is she is fantastic at cutting hair as well - I've never walked out with a haircut I didn't like. And historically, before going to Wendy, I never got a haircut I DID like. They allow independent beauty professionals to rent out each suite, so you have a collection of various salon services all in one location. The minute I sat down with Helen, I could tell that she knew exactly what she was doing. So if you've had trouble finding a reliable barber shop like me, give Helen a call. She will fix you up better than most of these big shops can, and for a very reasonable price. Personally, I'd much rather support these independent professionals over a trendy barbershop any day.
