I've come here for a dazzle dry pedicure twice and had pleasant experiences both times. This most recent time my best friend brought her 4 1/2 year-old daughter for a kids pedicure. I wish they had some kind of kids size pedicure seat because she was way too small for the regular size seat, which is where they had her sit. Also, the woman working on her toes didn't seem to understand anything that we were saying. We we told her that she wanted pink and glitter on her toenails and she just did clear and then it was like a whole production when I finally asked someone else for help because she was upset that she was finished and we wanted her to go back and add it even though we've been asking for it from the beginning she just didn't seem to understand. But they fixed it and her nails ended up being very cute. Not perfect but good enough for a four-year-old. I did the ocean spa pedicure, which included paraffin treatment, hot stone massage a steamer and fresh sliced oranges in the pedicure bath among other things and it was very lovely. I left feeling very relaxed. my pedicure still looks good three days later so that's a good sign. read more

This is the first review I've ever written, and unfortunately there is a good reason for it. During my pedicure, the nail technician cut my toe badly enough that it began bleeding heavily. Instead of stopping the service properly and addressing the injury with care, she attempted to manage the bleeding by quickly dunking my foot in the footbath, dabbing it with towels, and putting some powder on it. She did not try to even properly deal with this in a sanitary way. At no point did anyone apologize or acknowledge the seriousness of what happened. Despite all this, I was still charged full price for the service. The lack of concern, professionalism, and basic customer care was extremely disappointing. I got a dip powder manicure from them. They removed my cuticles on my nail plate with the drilling tool but they did not take care of my hang nails or the sides of my nail plate. It was a little annoying. The dip powder manicure itself was just okay with some imperfections, such as tiny dents or unfilled areas. Customer service was so-so. My manicurist seemed nice, but I know she was talking shit or complaining in her native language about me because one of her colleagues laughed and kept looking back at me. I didn't know what kind of manicure I wanted and initially said Dazzle Dry, but then changed my mind to dip powder, while still by the entrance, looking at the nail polishes. If I had changed my mind before we walked over to the manicure station and started anything at all, why would she be upset already and complain about me? I think it was because they were about to close in an hour and a half. I had called ahead of time though to schedule an appointment; they could've easily said no or asked to reschedule. Very frustrated. If I could make this 0 stars I would. I called to see if they could do an appointment for an all over color and a hair cut. They said they could fit me in which I appreciated but the result left me in tears. I have natural thick and curly hair. I explained I wanted to cut 2-3 inches off, add some angles around my face as well as side bangs. Mary(hair dresser) stated I would need to pay extra ($30) because of the length and thickness of my hair. I was initially ok with that as I wasn't planning to cut much off. She dyed my hair and the color is very nice, but the cut is the problem. Mary cut almost 5 inches off my hair. I had shown her pictures of what I did and DIDNOT want for a style. When she started cutting, she touched my back saying that where it falls when straight. I said ok because that should have been about 2-3 inches and far enough below my shoulders. When she was done, she started trimming my hair while it was dry. I thought she was just texturing the ends of my hair. I was wrong, she was thinning my beautiful thick hair!!! I did not know this until afterwards when I saw the final product. She did not ask me about thinning it and I said I love my thick hair at the very beginning. My hair is now so thin that it won't stay in a pony tail holder. I asked her why she thinned my hair and she said because it's better since it's short. I did not ask for it to be this short or thinned. I paid $200 for a service that left me in tears. I am very upset and when cashing out I explained why and they took off the $30 for the long thick hair quote Mary gave me but now my hair is too short and will look foolish when curly. Below are photos of this disaster. In the screenshots of the 2 hair styles I said I want side bangs like the photo but I want hair in between the 2 styles and specifically stated it past my shoulders. The bangs look like they were cut w rusty knife, they aren't even or like the photo I showed her. They are jagged and thin. She also left residue on my hair line and did not do anything to get it out. The product she used at the end left my roots greasy and requires I rewash my hair. I will be calling the salon tomorrow to speak with a manager as this has to be the worst feeling and cut in my lifetime. read more

I'm 41 minutes into my appointment, and I am so so happy. I was seated right away, and every station has a plexiglass glass barrier to ensure maximum safety. I haven't stepped foot into a salon since COVID began, but wanted to beat the holiday rush and also do what I can before an extended quarantine leading up to Thanksgiving. Thank goodness for Christine. She hooked me up! An express pedi also came with a much needed foot massage. And my toes look amazing. I arrived on time and it ended up late I was very nervous because I was on scheduled for my Helen Hayes award and i wanted my hair to be French braided into buns like a waterfall as I showed picture. it wasn't same at all and noticed the hairdresser didn't know how to do french braided and we had limited time which was very disappointing. This is a pretty nice spa. Hair, nails, massage. All good things. My only problem is that the hair stylist didn't listen to me when I asked her to cut my hair dry because it shrinks up a lot between being wet and dry. They do gel nails and gel polish which is the main reason I go there and I love the way my nails look. My bangs turned out like one of the pictures I showed my husband but not like the picture we agreed on for a cut. They do still look nice though. I went here on the spur of the moment because I needed to kill time while my son was at golf practice and I needed a pedicure/polish change on my nails bad. I got there around 7 PM (they close at 8) and told them what I wanted, they assured me it would be no problem. I ended up with a very nice lady named Dani to do my pedicure/nails. She was very polite and did a great job with the pedicure. The wine selection is nice (I've got to go back just for the prosecco alone) and the pedicure lasted a LONG time. She was very thorough with the rub. The heated wraps are a nice touch. Here's where things start to go down hill - I'm laid back in the chair with my eye wrap and my shoulder wrap almost asleep when the receptionist asks me to pay for my services since they were trying to close up. That's not a problem really but okay. Now, it's 8 PM, they're closing, my pedicure's not finished yet and I still have my nails to do (I have gel nails, so she'd have to polish the gel off, clean, repaint, and put new gel on...at least a half hour process). My feet get done around 8:15. Dani then puts the new color I wanted right on top of my nicked up, nasty gel on my fingers instead of taking the time to go and polish it off like I had paid for. On top of that, the polish doesn't fully cover the nail on all sides and you can still see the french manicure below it. For the price I paid for all of this ($75) I was not amused. I feel that the salon should at least comp my nail service. However, everyone was gone and there was no one to talk to about it. They were extremely friendly but I did not like my results. I received a pedicure and gel manicure and there was polish all over my cuticles, my cuticles were not trimmed well, the gel polish began chipping after two days, my feet didn't feel like I had a pedicure at all. I asked for more in areas I felt were lacking and they tried but it just wasn't great for me at all. Feeling better after a spell with a bug that laid me OUT for almost six days and was in dire need of a pick-me-up....landed at Solace while running long overdue errands. Just a quick manicure was all I really needed. Still feeling out of sorts and not willing to dedicate the time or money to the full on treatment that I sooooo need (and deserve), so I stopped in for the express manicure ($18 - higher than what I've become accustomed to). I was pleasantly surprised! No pushy sales tactics. No wait. No rolling of the eyes when I changed my mind THREE times over polish color. No over-gnawing at my poor tender cuticles. AND while I languished at the drying station (hey, those drying stations make a huge difference when you are opting for just straight polish), I was treated to an extra slather of enriching oil for my uber dry cuticles. I'm not entirely sure what I paid for (?). The regular pedicure is $28, I got a hot cream pedicure for $35, they used warm cream but not any different from salons that call this a regular pedicure. The lotion was so slippery that the sponge between my toes slid while I walked to the drying station and smudged the polish. The aisle is so small you have to dip in and out of stations if someone else is trying to walk by. There's salons with more for about the same price. I don't think the foot dryer is even blowing air. I was a walk in appointment for a pedicure and I told them I only had 45 minutes before I had to pick my kids up. All the seats were full, and there were two clients waiting, but the receptionist assured me that I could be fit in, no problem. After waiting a few minutes, the receptionist (not a nail tech) led me to a chair & set me up with a warm foot bath. 25 minutes later, the water was cold and nobody had come to start my pedicure! I came there on Friday afternoon and what a disappointment. It's not my first time coming there but definitely gonna be my last one. So the lady who was doing my nails, I think her name was Thee, not only did a horrible job but she absolutely couldn't understand anything I was saying to her and she paid no attention to me while I was drying my nails, she basically left me there for 15 minutes and I had to ask her colleges if I'm good to go, while she was just on her phone. First I think it's pretty shady that they don't have a tip option when you check out and pay with your debit or credit card, yet conveniently offer you the use of an ATM in the middle of the salon. I'm sure the owner gets no kickback for that machine. Bet he has no incentive to add a tip option either at checkout. Some of the nail techs are very unprofessional and have no problem giving you a nice cut on your skin and leaving you open for a nasty infection. A week ago I went into Solace for a gel fill-in and received the worst service I've ever had by a nail tech. DO NOT TRUST THIS SALON. The nail tech almost seemed as if she was doing nails for only about the 3rd time as she horribly attempted to shape my nails which concluded in them all being a different shape and size. She did not take her time at all (which made no sense considering I was the only customer in the salon at the time) and when it was all set & done I was charged $40 for the service which also is HORRIBLE. I've been getting my nails done every 2 weeks for over 10 years and the best nail techs I've ever been to have charged no more than $25 for the WAY BETTER service. The only reason I decided to try Solace is because I just recently moved to the area and was in need of an emergency fill in but, like I said, never again. Also, two days after I left the salon, one of my nails popped off (with ease) and I went back to get it repaired and was treated as if they've never seen me before. Terrible experience. I was a walk-in and was in and out with a gel manicure and eyebrow wax in less than 20 minutes. There was no service to my nails. No filing, cuticle care, etc. when I mentioned this she stated that those things were not "typical" service for angel manicure. I walked out with a gel manicure that looked like it was completely by a 5 year old. Not even 2 days later my gel nails have peeled off and look absolutely awful. read more
